Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 285: Meeting
And just like that, two months went by.
Atrox focused his attention on the Clan entirely. For the meantime, he didn’t change any policies. In fact, he strengthened them. Since he wasn’t one to overrate his own abilities, he knew things like policies weren’t his strongest skills.
Well, that’s why Clan leaders always have advisors.
But for the time being, one thing Atrox was immediately focused on was the military. And it was something that was immediately clear to everyone.
He sent huge resources to both his army, the west and the east. And he directly charged the Enchanters Association in the capital to start presenting enchanted tools for the army.
"I don’t want high-quality enchanted tools for the most powerful of the army. I want low-quality but in higher quantity for them. I want to increase their overall firepower as a whole, not individually. Don’t worry about resources. I will give you all you want!" That was what Atrox told the Enchanters Association leaders.
The old men and women who had dedicated their lives to enchanting and crafting tools were instantly happy. For them, the biggest issue they always faced was resources, and the Clan leader was going to accommodate them? They were all in joy and thanked him furiously.
Atrox’s plan was simple. A single ant cannot bring down an elephant, but the same couldn’t be said about a million thousand ants. They might even chew the bones of the elephant!
He knew war would likely come. He might not be able to control them, but he had control over the strength of his army.
The second thing he did about the military was to create a third corps of the army. The clash had shown a glaring error in the way the Soryu Clan military was.
The reason Thrain couldn’t use all his power was because he didn’t want to leave the border unguarded, and that’s why he didn’t move the western army, which was also the biggest.
Atrox was going to fix that. He wanted to create a new force that would be directly under him. They wouldn’t have any Commander because he would be the one.
And he did. The first policy and law he made. And he called the third army, The Sky.
To create the foundation for the Sky, he pulled soldiers from both armies and then ordered all four Chiefs to send five hundred soldiers to represent them.
Besides, the Choxa Clan would be making up the bulk of it from the punishment that Atrox imposed on them.
When he collected all these soldiers, Atrox set an evaluation test for them because he didn’t want the Sky to be just any normal army. He wanted them to be the strongest. And the overseer for the Sky is no one but Eryndor, until Atrox became a Master Knight anyway.
By the end of those two months, Atrox was pleased with his performance so far, but there was still something to be dealt with, so he called the meeting that all the Chiefs had been waiting for.

In a big room with a long table, Atrox sat at the head. He was dressed casually. He wore purple trousers and a white tunic. His left fingers were filled with gold rings, and from his left ear dangled a purple gem.
Behind his table stood Eryndor, Slya, and Tiber.
And in front, filling all the chairs from left to right, were the direct stakeholders of the Soryu Clan. All of them were there. Takoda and Pomora.
All the four Chiefs and the two Commanders.
Valtor and Arin, they were all there.
’.....and I’m sure that spymaster is here somewhere....’ Atrox thought and tapped the table, creating a clicking sound even though he didn’t need to as everyone was focused on him. "We will begin."
Everyone nodded. Today they knew what was to be addressed.
"My father was killed in this palace. There was no justice that was given, so I created one and killed my brother. I won’t beat around anything. Some of you here helped in the killing of him.
"I don’t like him any more than you do, but the fact is the fact. He was the Clan leader. He was Soryu, and he was killed. For this, I will give punishment."
The room tensed as everyone tightened. They were all keeping their aura pressure hidden, but Atrox felt it like a blade hidden under the clothes.
He continued without hesitation. "Perhaps punishment is also reward for some. On that note, Chief Eamon Rikon, from today you are no longer a Chief..."
The room turned cold immediately. It was as if everyone had turned to ice. They looked at Atrox with shock, every single one of them. What?
Eamon Rikon was so dumbfounded that he could only stare at Atrox. His body was filled with the heat of betrayal. Eryndor tensed immediately.
Atrox smiled and continued. "From today, you will now be known, and given the authority by me, to be High Chief!"
This time the shock was almost comical. Even some mouths opened. What? High Chief?
That’s impossible, right? The High Chief is a rank that hasn’t been held in hundreds of years. As High Chief, it means that Eamon Rikon was now ranked second only to Atrox in the whole of Soryu Clan.
Not only did he now have the right to expand his own territory, he’ll take the bigger share of everything that the four Chiefs were given, and he was now the lord of the other four Chiefs.
Even Helena was shocked, and something flashed in her eyes when she looked at Atrox. A bit of admiration and fear. Maybe she had made her assessment of Atrox way too soon because he seemed to be more ruthless than his father.
Eamon Rikon stood up and blinked several times at Atrox. He remembered that the Clan leader promised him that he would ’take’, but he never expected it to come in this form. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
He bowed. "My Lord, you are truly generous. Thank you, Clan leader."
Atrox nodded and then turned to Chief Terrix Choxa. "I have changed my mind. I will give you back half of your forces. The other half will serve me for a while. Chief Helena Varrow and Chief Morwen Voss, I will take half of yours as well."
