Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 319: Saint Jin
Atrox raised his brows. "Since foundation? That means that we have never allowed the Elders to build their own branch family and there must be a reason for that. Tiber, tell me."
Tiber stepped forward. "My Lord, it’s because of rebellion. A Clan must have a single root or else the other root will grow their own trees. Bigger and stronger."
Elder Youn sneered. "Oh? So you’re afraid that I will rise against you? Why are you afraid of such when you are the Clan leader? My time grows short, Clan leader. Do you accept or not?"
"Elder Youn. I don’t accept and I don’t accept you leaving as well. There is a death sentence hanging on you and I’ve already named you the enemy of the Clan."
Atrox took a step forward, his anger that had been boiling since everything happened finally reached a breaking point. "You only care about yourself. You wanted the Clan and you set it up for war, but now that the Clan is pinned down you are here to cure your guilt for what you have done.
"I will not forgive you, Elder Youn Soryu. By my name and right as the Clan leader of the Soryu Clan and the family head of the Soryu family, I hereby strip you of the family name and name you outcast, taking effect as of now!"
Elder Youn gasped and took a step back in surprise. "You... you can’t do such a thing!"
"I already did and now I’m going to kill," Atrox said calmly.
Elder Youn finally realized his mistake. He had gravely mistaken the type of person Atrox is, and the reason was because he had never seen his politics before. He thought of him as his brother, but he understood now that Atrox had more of his father in him.
Elder Youn stiffened like someone who had entered a cave expecting to find a safe place only to be faced with an angry monster. "You can’t kill me. I have a Master Knight with me."
Atrox snorted. "And I have two. You might not notice, but Eryndor here is a Master Knight and Chief Takoda is right there outside. I have no problem with you, Elder Youn. But it’s with the Master Knight you brought with you.
"Will you join me, Master Knight?"
The Master Knight was even younger than Eryndor. His hair was white and shaggy, and his eyebrows were of the same color. He smiled. "Clan leader. Can you really trust me if I turn my back against my master?
"Indeed, he took me out of the street and I am who I am because of him. My sword is dedicated to him and his cause."
Atrox grinned. "Then I will remove him and the cause. What will you serve then?"
The Master Knight stiffened and went to his sword. He touched it lightly, and his eyes narrowed on Atrox’s form. "My Lord. Do not say such words, because I have killed for less."
Atrox smiled. The anger was now like a mask covering his face and he didn’t care if he showed it. "Your master, Elder Youn, is a criminal that has sentenced my Clan to death through his stunts, and you want me not to retaliate?
"Your threats mean nothing, Master Knight. It pains me greatly that you will fall this day, but fall you must if you insist on fighting against me."
The Master Knight gripped his sword and stepped closer to Elder Youn. "If I draw my sword, you’ll die before you can retaliate. That’s a promise. I hear you killed my student, Alyndra."
Atrox blinked, and it took him a few seconds to remember where he heard that name. It hasn’t been long, but a lot of things had happened after his early days in the Borderland that he couldn’t accurately remember everything unless he carefully thought about it.
His eyes widened. "Alyndra!... you. You are the Sword Saint!"
The Master Knight smiled. "The? I am just a Sword Saint. There are a lot of Sword Saints all around. And do you know what makes a Sword Saint? Or any Saint? They must first grasp the highest understanding, an enlightenment about something they are very good and passionate about.
"Then others would regard them. Worship them for the skills that they have gained and honed. This worship translates into more power for the Saint. There’s no god in the eternal sky, but who knows? We Saints are the closest thing we have to a god!"
"Impressive, I guess. Maybe one day I too will gain enlightenment on the use of fire and will become a Saint. How powerful is a Saint, Master Knight?"
The Sword Saint shook his head. "You can try and find out."
Everyone tensed, even Atrox. "What is your name, Master Knight Saint?"
"My name is Jin."
"Oh. Sword Saint Jin. I sentence you to death."
Jin blinked with everyone else. With all the threats that the man had thrown around, they had thought that Atrox was going to let them go. It was the most reasonable, but then again, Atrox doesn’t really deal like that.
In that split second that Atrox said the word, Jin began to draw his sword and white light leaped out from the blade, making its way towards Atrox. His speed was so fast that even Eryndor was three to four seconds slower to catch up.
But not him. Takoda blurred into the room like a storm of white wind. He was immediately in front of Atrox, and his claw came down on the white light that was the sword slash.
Sparks flew as the line and claws met.
Jin blinked. He didn’t expect that there could be someone who could match his speed here. But then he noticed the crown on Takoda’s head. A stone crown that was glowing with red light.
"You! You’re very fast. I’m going to enjoy killing you!"
Takoda, in his monster form, growled. "I am not the only one here to kill you."
For the first time, Jin showed an emotion. He smiled. "I have two swords. I can handle two Master Knights just fine."
