By Seeing Beasts' Training Paths, My Beast Became Invincible-Chapter 49: First kill
’’First, I should find the mainland.’’ Rocky nodded to himself and began to swim.
By chance, he saw a horde of sharks ahead. Their fins cut through the surface of the sea, heading straight toward him at high speed.
Rocky frowned and triggered the system’s appraisal skill.

’’God damn it!’’ Rocky’s face twisted in disbelief as he looked at the system screen. He totally understood what it meant.
Monsters from blue dungeons and above were entirely different from those in green dungeons, because most of them were clearly classified and far more dangerous.
Inferior / Elite / Sovereign.
So why weren’t the monsters from green dungeons classified? Because they were simply too weak.
Monsters with inferior ranks were quite common. They were the weakest enemies for beast tamers. However, in order to clear a blue dungeon, their beasts needed to reach at least level 100–200.
And with a beast of calamity species rank, Rocky could tell that his beast must be around level 100 to handle them.
’’Shit!...I should run. If there’s a horde of sharks here, then for sure there’s an elite-ranked monster nearby. I still want to live.’’
Just like that, Rocky dove into the depths of the sea and moved at great speed. But as time went by, he realized he could never escape at this rate.
The horde of sharks was too fast. So he switched to another form, shot up to the surface of the sea, and flew into the air.
For a moment, he thought he had successfully escaped the vicious sharks. Then, in the dark sky, a deafening roar echoed.
Rocky scowled and glanced toward the source of the sound.
A dozen pterosaurs with wingspans stretching dozens of meters were heading straight toward him at terrifying speed.

’’It’s too much for me. I swear, if all the candidates in this game ran into trouble like this, they’d die for sure.’’
Rocky gritted his teeth in anger before flying at lightning speed. He glanced around, trying to spot the mainland or anything that could help him at this moment.
At some point, his eyes widened when he saw something in the distance.
He smiled and headed straight for that place without hesitation.
Five minutes later.
Mountain ranges. He could see them clearly now.
Rocky glanced behind him. A spark of murderous intent gleamed in his eyes as countless plans flashed through his mind.
He shot into the mountain ranges and shrank into a human form before landing on the peak of a mountain.
In his tiny form, Rocky swiftly hid in the corner of a massive rock. Through a gap among the rocks, he sneakily gazed at the monsters.
All of them perched on the mountains, tilting their heads as they searched for him, like a pack of hound dogs chasing weak prey.
At some point, most of them roared angrily before soaring into the sky and disappearing when no one saw him.
But one remained.
Its vicious, starving eyes were still fixed on the mountain slope as it constantly pecked at the rocks, trying to dig out its prey.
Rocky glanced at the monster calmly before slowly sneaking around the rocks to get behind it.
He carefully climbed up a rocky slope behind the creature. Staring at its long neck, Rocky suddenly jumped in. In midair, he shifted into his gigantic form and wrapped his arms around its neck, trying to strangle it.
Yet its neck was too hard, as if he were hugging a steel pillar.
The monster shot upward and performed a series of complex aerial maneuvers, forcing Rocky to lose his grip and fall away. But it only scowled when a long cut on its neck began bleeding nonstop.
Rocky had already used his obsidian knife, thanks to the [Void Forging] skill.
’’As expected, I can’t cut it down with a mere knife.’’
The monster glared at him with hostile eyes before letting out a satisfied roar, like a wolf spotting a powerless sheep.
It flapped its massive wings and crushed the air, generating a series of sharp, razor-like winds aimed straight at Rocky.
Rocky quickly dashed behind a nearby rock to use it as a shield. He could summon his own shield with a skill, but that would be a stupid idea. After all, it would consume a relative amount of mana, and it might not even be effective.
Besides, he believed those sharp winds would slice his shield into pieces anyway. And then, he would be next.
The monster continued to shriek as it nonstop released its skill, cutting everything within its range, not giving Rocky a single chance to escape the mountain.
Its intention was clear. It wanted to destroy the mountain along with Rocky.
Rocky remained calm and observed the monster.
After enduring around five of its crashes, he discovered something.
It still needed time to breathe before launching the next attack.
Rocky summoned a huge longbow and prepared for his move. As soon as the monster paused for about five seconds, Rocky fired a deadly arrow.
With near-perfect accuracy, the arrow pierced straight into the monster’s right eye. The creature roared in agony, clawing at its face to pull the arrow out, but it didn’t notice a gigantic hammer descending swiftly from the sky toward its head.
Under the immense force of the hammer, the monster collapsed, yet it still groaned and struggled to get back up.
Bang!
Bang!
Even though its skin was as hard as steel, after taking several blows like that, it couldn’t withstand any longer.
[You have slain a Long-Winged Flying Dinosaur.]
[You have received 50 points.]
Rocky nodded in amusement before glancing at the runes ahead.
At least it gave him a little motivation.
’’Let’s see the ranking board.’’
