CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 107: Second Life
Princess Valeria looked at Princess Cassandra who was struggling to get down.
The look on the fifth Princess’s face was making Princess Valeria excited.
[This is the power of elements.]
[This is the feeling that I craved to feel forever.]
[I have to use my whole potential to get what I want. The throne and then Aiden Salvador.]
Princess Valeria’s eyes narrowed as she looked at the fifth Princess. The wickedness in her mind exploded as she raised her hand and the air around Cassandra’s surroundings began to disappear.
Princess Cassandra was struggling. The voice refused to come out as there was a feeling of helplessness in her.
[You made Aiden look at you.]
[Why? Just because you are Lord Bentham’s fiancé?]
[It makes no sense to me.]
[But if you die, then many things would be easy.]
{I guess only Lord Bentham would be sad and Duke Salvador, he would not care. But my feelings would be eased up.]
Princess Cassandra listened to Princess Valeria’s thoughts but she could not do anything. Her hands rested on her neck as she felt someone was choking her. Cassandra felt that her life might end here and that too being suffocated.
’I have tried to survive for so long and yet this is how I die.’ Princess Cassandra thought as she looked down at the first Princess who was smiling with a rather proud smile.
Cassandra’s face was turning red. Her hands were about to be lifeless as her eyes closed and she was losing consciousness.
But just when it was about to happen a strong force came in and the air surrounding Princess Cassandra was restored. Cassandra felt like she was given a second life. She was saved from the jaws of death.
Princess Valeria did not understand what was happening as her powers were not in her control. She saw the fifth Princess coming down from the mid-air as she breathed heavily. Many things were happening and Valeria felt helpless at the moment.
Princess Valeria turned around to look at the only person who was capable enough to make such things happen. The person who can cut through her powers. The person powerful enough to suppress her.
"Father .." Princess Valeria said in a raging tone. Her voice trembled as she looked at the Emperor taking steps near her.
"That is enough Valeria. We do not want to kill her now, do we?" The Emperor said as he raised his eyebrows. A smile played on his face as he narrowed his gaze. "She is still valuable to me and yet you are taking out your frustration on her. How should I view this? As treason?"
Princess Valeria laughed as she raised her eyebrows. "The Emperor is taken her side now?" She pointed her fingers at the fifth Princess who was on the grounds with red eyes. "You should be taking my side."
"Your side? Why?" The Emperor laughed but his eyes were serious. "You came here running once you were free to show your new powers, and with whose help? The secretary?" The Emperor took one more step towards the first Princess. "Even if you do come here and pull that stunt out in front of the people to display it to them that you are the true heir to the throne, you and I both know the truth. But it seems like you have forgotten something."
The Emperor put his hand on Princess Valeria’s shoulders as he whispered in her ears. "My powers are still stronger than you."
Princess Valeria looked at her father who was smiling evilly. "Valeria, no matter how grown up you are, you are still my child. The secretary hasn’t told you everything, I take it. Why don’t you go and ask the man whether you could defeat me or not before coming here and questioning my authority."
Princess Valeria’s eyes narrowed before she looked at the fifth Princess and the Emperor before leaving the room in anger.
Cassandra looked at the first Princess as she took deep breaths to make her mind work properly. She looked up only to realize that the Emperor was looking at her.
The Emperor narrowed his eyes. "You need to understand how to read the room before you talk." The Emperor’s tone was filled with stiffness as if he was giving out orders.
"I don’t know how you survived here in the palace without any powers but I guess it was using your brain. So you need to use it when you talk with other people. The people of the Vivere Kingdom’s people are not like us. We might be obsessed with powers but they are obsessed with something even darker. Now that they are taking you there, you need to be mindful of your behavior and actions." The Emperor smiled as he started walking out of the door.
"Don’t trouble anyone there and do not cross any lines that shouldn’t be crossed. You will be on your own so you need to survive."
With those words, the Emperor left without looking back.
Princess Cassandra sat on the floor. There was no one who was there to support her. Cassandra struggled to breathe as she tried getting up. Her body could not move.
Cassandra pushed the floor as she rose her body up and yet she fell down again.
"You can do it, Cassandra." The fifth Princess said in a low tone as if giving herself strength. "I have survived death. I can survive this as well."
"We just need to get up. It is not that hard. I only need to push my hand on the ground and pull my body up and I will be standing." Cassandra said breathlessly. "It is not difficult. Not difficult at all."
Cassandra’s mind was running wide. Her eyes narrowed as she tried smiling. Cassandra followed her steps to the point and yet she could not get up. Her body refused to work hard.
"I think my legs have slept," Cassandra murmured. She looked around the room as her gaze turned down. "Should I just live here? This will be my home."
Cassandra’s face fell as she took a deep breath.
"Does my butterflies need some help? Or do you want me to do something for you?" A voice said, making Cassandra’s eyes widen in shock. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Cassandra looked at the Duke who was standing near the door with a smile. He walked into the room as he sat down near the fifth Princess looking at her in amazement.
Cassandra’s face turns pink.
’This is embarrassing.’ Cassandra thought as looked at the Duke but soon looked down.
"I cannot get up," Cassandra said under her breath. She could not look at the Duke even if she wanted to. But Duke Salvador had some other plans. He looked at the fifth Princess’s face as a chuckle escaped his lips.
Duke Salvador held Cassandra’s cheeks as he made her look at him. Her cornflower-blue eyes were looking straight through Aiden’s soul. He smiled as his thumb ran over the fifth Princess’s cheeks.
"I should help the butterfly. I cannot leave you to struggle." Duke Salvador smiled as he got up from the floor and he looked down and before Princess Cassandra could understand she was in the arms of the Duke.
Cassandra’s legs had not woken yet as she held onto the Duke with all her life. "This .." Cassandra’s eyes closed as her hold on the Duke tightened.
"Don’t be afraid of anything, my butterfly. I will never let anyone hurt you." Duke Salvador smiled as he walked out. His hold on the Princess tightened as he walked with confident steps.
Princess Cassandra nodded her head as she opened her eyes slowly. She looked around but did not find any guards standing there.
"Where is everyone?" Cassandra asked in a soft tone. Her eyes blinked in confusion."
Aiden took a few more steps before replying. "When the Emperor left the hall, they all thought that everyone left so when I came in no one was there."
"Oh .." Cassandra looked down. She knew what her importance was in the royal palace but after how Duke Salvador was treating her she for once had forgotten it altogether. But now after coming face to face with the first Princess, Princess Valeria, and seeing the behavior of the guards it was clear.
’Why does he treat me so well?’ Cassandra looked at the Duke who was looking straight at the road.
’Why am I feeling such emotions.’ Cassandra thought as smiled. Her heart was beating fast as her breathing fastened.
’I need to distract myself.’
’I cannot be feeling such emotions.’
’Now is not the time for it.’
’I need to control my heart.’
Cassandra tried telling herself this as she looked forwards.
"Where are we?" Cassandra murmured under her breath. The road was unknown to her.
Cassandra looked up at the Duke who was looking at her with a soft gaze. A smile played on his lips as he said in a soft tone.
"We are going to meet Duke Salvador."
