Chapter 114: Talk

Princess Cassandra could not say anything.

What was she supposed to say? She did not feel like her answer had any impact but her mind was still in a mess. She wanted to know the reason behind it.

"But why is it happening?" Princess Cassandra murmured as she looked at the Duke. But soon Amy’s thoughts disturbed her thoughts.

[Why is Princess Cassandra being like this?]

[And why do I feel that there are some secrets between those two?]

[Is Princess Cassandra hiding something from me?]

Amy’s throat choked as she looked at the fifth Princess with a sad expression. [Am I not honest enough?]

[Does the fifth Princess not trust me?]

Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened when she heard those words. Her feelings towards Amy were pure. It was never Cassandra’s intention to hurt her lady in waiting. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

’But I did hurt her unknowingly.’

Princess Cassandra’s eyes softened as she looked at Amy. "Amy, I want to tell you something. But you have to believe me that the reason why I have been hiding this from you was that I did not want you to be in trouble."

Amy nodded her head as she looked at the fifth Princess with a questionable gaze. She did not know what the fifth Princess was saying but she could read the air. The situation was telling her that whatever Princess Cassandra was about to say held great importance to her.

Princess Cassandra took a deep breath as she held Amy’s hand. "You believe in me right?" Cassandra asked in a soft tone. Her hold on Amy tightened as a smile formed on her face but it was not a happy smile. It was a helpless one.

’I have to tell this to you Amy and can just hope that you understand me and my situation.’

’I feel like I have betrayed you but now I want to rectify my mistake.’

’Please understand me, Amy.’

Princess Cassandra’s heart was bleeding. There was a pain in her soul due to the guilt that she was facing now.

[You are thinking too much.] The voices in Cassandra’s soul interfered with her again.

[She is your friend, the one who has always been loyal to you.]

[She will definitely understand your way of thinking.]

Princess Cassandra swallowed as she nodded her head. She clenched her hand making herself ready to talk.

—--------

Duke Salvador was sitting there as he saw the disbelief and horror in Amy’s voice.

Amy stood up as she took some steps back. ’S ...So ... Ed ... was.... Du ... Duke?" Amy’s voice trembled in shock. Her eyes could not look at the man sitting there in front of them.

[How can I be so clueless.]

[Why didn’t the princess tell this to me first?]

[No, I cannot blame the fifth Princess. She did not know either.]

[But the way I have treated Ed so far.]

[I even complained about him to Duke Salvador and that too with huge confidence.]

[NO!! HOW CAN I FACE HIM?]

[I TOLD HIM TO KEEP HIMSELF IN CHECK WITH THE PRINCESS.]

Amy was freaking out. She knew that she had messed up a lot recently. But that too with Duke Salvador.

[What am I thinking?]

[I should not think anything unnecessary. The Princess can hear.]

Amy’s gaze shifted towards the fifth Princess who smiled helplessly. She knew that she could not do anything else about how Amy might react. Her lady in waiting had a right to feel the way she was feeling. A little confused and a little disappointed in her.

’I just hope Amy will be able to see past the situation.’ Princess Cassandra thought as she looked at the Duke.

Aiden smiled as he leaned forward. He did not need any powers to read the thoughts just to understand what was going inside Amy’s mind. It was written on her face. Loud and clear.

A laugh left Aiden’s mouth as he smiled at the Princess before turning towards Amy. He removed the mask covering his face, making Amy’s eyes shake.

Knowing something and experiencing it was a completely different trying and Amy felt it hard now.

"Duke." Amy bowed but Aiden waved his hand as he said in a dull tone.

"No need to do that. I am here as Ed. The one who is the fifth Princess’s personal guide." Aiden indicated Amy to sit as he continued. "We all are here for her. So let’s see how we can help the Princess to gain her powers and understand them."

Amy nodded as she sat on the chair with less confidence. Her eyes move towards the fifth Princess from time to time.

[Yes, we have to help Princess Cassandra.]

[I cannot let anything bad happen to her.]

Amy’s gaze was filled with determination. Something she had lacked before. "What needs to be done?"

Princess Cassandra swallowed as everyone’s sight was focused on her. "Let me ask." were the only words Princess Cassandra could manage to say.

[Okay now that your army is ready we should go exploring a few of your powers first.] The voices said mischievously.

"No." Princess Cassandra said in a firm tone.

Both Amy and Aiden looked at the fifth Princess in confusion. They knew that she was talking with the voices but then it was all too new for them.

"What are they saying?" Duke Salvador asked in a soft tone. He leaned forward as he held Princess Cassandra’s hand.

"They said why don’t we explore my powers," Cassandra said in a low voice. With what had happened before Cassandra was still a little afraid that things might go south if she pushed herself.

[Don’t worry Princess. It has nothing to do with the elements." The voices tried to explain it to the fifth Princess as if telling a child. [We want to talk with the others too so that we can communicate with them all directly.]

Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened. ’You can talk with everyone?’

[Only with your help.] the voices said as they infected the fifth Princess’s soul.

Princess Cassandra swallowed as she looked down. Her eyes were having some doubt in them. "They want to talk with you."

"Is it possible?" Amy said as her eyes narrowed. She did not know that the elements could talk. Princess Cassandra’s condition was a little special by itself but now listening to such things was a completely different thing.

"They said it is." Princess Cassandra said.

"Do you want to try?" Duke Salvador said the main question that was bugging him. No matter what the voices of the elements wanted the fifth Princess to do that was the main thing that was on his mind. If Princess Cassandra did not want to do something then no matter what anyone else thought, it was out of the question.

"Think carefully." Aiden continued as he smiled trying to give the fifth princess some strength. "You do not have to force yourself. You can try it afterward."

Princess Cassandra’s eyes were filled with water. She did not know how to respond. She looked up at the Duke and then at Amy. The only two people who were giving her some strength.

[What do they mean by it?]

[We know you can do it.]

The voices in Cassandra’s head complained.

[We are a part of you, Princess. Trust us too, not only those two.]

Princess Cassandra swallowed. She closed her eyes as she entered the space and she could see the crystals more easily now.

’I did not have any difficulty when I came back here.’ Cassandra thought.

[That is because of us.] Cassandra’s eyes moved towards the voices as she saw two human-like figures carved from crystals but there was water flowing in one and the fire in the other.

[Why do you look so confused?] The fire crystal said in a soft tone. [We still lacked three of our people.]

[Weren’t there only two left?] The water crystal asked as it faced the fire crystal.

[Did you forget the one because of whom we were separated?] The fire crystal complained in a dull tone.

[How can I?] The water crystal moved towards the fifth Princess as the flow of water within it became violent. [There are three left.]

Princess Cassandra was confused as she nodded her head without understanding anything. "OKAY" Cassandra’s eyes narrowed in confusion.

[Anyways let’s go out?" the fire crystal said with a sparkle in his eyes. [I want to tell you everything.]

[I thought I would be the one talking.] The water crystal said but his voice was neglected.

[Go back and do as I say.] The fire crystal said in a soft tone.

[Like we say.] The water crystal was corrected.

Princess Cassandra did not want to be a part of this conflict as she opened her eyes slowly. Her hands were still held by the Duke who was looking at her with worry.

Princess Cassandra could not help but smile. "I want to try it once."

Aiden did not want to push Princess Cassandra but now that the words had left her mouth, Aiden could not complain. He nodded as his hold on Princess Cassandra loosened. "We are here."

Cassandra smiled as she looked at the table in front of her. "Let’s begin."
