Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Aurora’s Morning

While Mater was asleep, Selina went around and finished her business.

The bounty in the White Seam Factory was completed. Selina was able to receive another 100 tokens and 50,000 credits.

This made her total legal wealth to 235,000 credits and the total tokens on the Bounty Rankings to 523.

Selina officially had enough tokens to become a Silver Hunter. But she didn’t have the certification.

To become a Silver Hunter, she also needed a diploma from the Institute.

The Union didn’t think the Bounty in the White Seam Factory was that hard. As far as they knew, it consisted only of Menace-level NCEs. Everything that happened inside the hidden maze was kept secret.

Selina didn’t tell them either. It was foolish to do so.

Justin Mei had also reached out to her to finish gathering information for her case. Selina was suing the AS Journal for defamation.

She didn’t care if they won or lost. But she wanted to send a message that she was not an easy target to bully.

After that, Justin Mei had also finished ’dealing’ with her inheritance money and transferred them into Selina’s official Union Account.

Her legal wealth was officially 2,350,000 credits. Mater was holding another one million credits in mobile black credits for other uses.

Once she finished with everything, Selina returned to the private hospital where Mater was recovering.

She saw Aurora sitting beside the bed in the middle of the night.

The white-haired wight raised a finger to signal Selina to keep quiet. Mater was asleep.

The goth girl nodded.

Selina lay down on the sofa bed and went to sleep herself. The Glacial Wight became the watchful protector for the two of them.

Crow returned to the hospital early in the morning. He had finished recovering himself in the cemetery.

"Watch them, Crow. I will go and prepare something for Master and Selina." Aurora whispered low.

Crow said. He turned invisible and found a corner to sit down.

Aurora left the room.

Selina did tell her about the prescription diet that the doctor had. Aurora knew where to take it. She also went to the nearest diner and bought some breakfast for Selina.

Aurora went to the coffee shop to pick up a cup of coffee as well since Selina really liked her coffee.

"This place... It is very familiar." Aurora mumbled.

She hesitated but she still entered.

The waitress was holding a tray full of glasses. She walked past Aurora and noticed her.

"Hi! Thank you for coming..."

The waitress froze mid-sentence. She dropped her tray, breaking all the glasses.

"Alice! Is that really you?!"

Aurora’s eyes twitched a little but her expression stayed calm. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

She squatted down and collected the broken glass shards on the ground.

The waitress also squatted down to help her.

"Where have you been, Alice? You just disappeared!" The waitress whispered.

"Let’s clean this up then we’ll talk, okay?"

The waitress nodded.

They quickly cleaned up the mess. The waitress finished her order then came by and sat down with Aurora.

The waitress observed Aurora closely. The last time she saw Aurora, she had dark hair and a bright smile.

Alice had always been smiling. Her smile was hypnotic. It was what made so many men have a crush on her.

Now Alice was more distant. She didn’t smile and her eyes were cold. Alice’s hair had also turned white. It didn’t seem like a dye but natural white.

Her appearance was also very different.

Alice Rosenberg was a beautiful college student. She even had a little fanclub in her university.

But now she seemed like a goddess. Something that was greater than life and unreal. And those glowing blue tattoos on her body made her even more ethereal.

"What’s your name?" Aurora said.

"Excuse me?" The waitress widened her eyes.

"I was in an accident and lost quite a lot of memory. I can only remember some of it. I don’t remember you."

"Oh, Alice..."

The waitress teared up slightly. She leaned over to hug Aurora but was stopped.

Aurora pushed the waitress down with her hands. Aurora’s hands were as cold as ice. Even the slight touch made the waitress shiver.

"You’re so cold, Alice!"

"Tell me your name."

The waitress saw the seriousness behind those glances. She finally spoke.

The girl was Caroline Jameson. She worked with Alice before in this same coffee shop.

They were friends and were pretty close to each other. But one day, Alice suddenly disappeared. No one knew where she’s gone. Not even the professors in the university or her family.

They assumed the worst and thought Alice was killed by a robber and met a worse fate.

She did meet a worse fate. She was turned into a wraith. Her soul was forever defiled. Luckily, she was released by Mater and killed her murderer with her own two hands.

"What happened, girl? What accident did you get yourself into?" Caroline said.

"Just a car accident. I need to go now. We’ll talk later if I’m free."

"Where are you going?! Aren’t you going to tell your parents that you’re alive?" Caroline said.

"Hmmm."

Aurora bought the coffee and returned to the hospital. She wasn’t thinking about getting her previous life back. But she did think that if she had her old identity back, she might be able to disguise as a Psychic and could go bounty hunting with Selina in broad daylight.

When she returned to the room, Selina and Mater were up.

The goth girl was lying with the cat on its bed and petted the cat gently.

"I’m bringing breakfast!"

Aurora prepared breakfast for Mater and Selina.

While they’re eating, she told them about her short interaction with Caroline and the idea about getting her old identity back.

The black cat stroked its whiskers in deep thoughts.

"You know what. That is actually a good idea. The only problem is that you’ll need to take an examination like Selina." The black cat meowed. "Your identity as an undead would be exposed."

"Can you manipulate the machines?" Selina said.

"That is an option. But there is a better solution. There is a spell that can disguise her as a human..."

Mater had a Transmutation Rank-2 Spell that would make Aurora a complete human in everyone’s eyes. Even the machine would be fooled. He thought about using this spell with Bash before.

"Do you want to have your identity back, Aurora? If you do, you will have to face Alice’s parents, her friends and relationships. You will also need to bear her responsibilities." Mater meowed.

"If I can register as a Psychic and fight alongside Selina, then yes. I will accept my old identity back." Aurora nodded.

"Very well."
