Celestial Speed: Legacy-Chapter 69: Speed lab

The base compound had other multiple buildings surrounding the main one and they all were beautiful, ice like architectures.

As they approached the main building, Henry noticed a smaller, adjacent structure that caught his attention. The building’s design was reminiscent of a futuristic research facility, with a sleek, metallic exterior and a series of intricate, swirling patterns etched into the walls.

Felicity led Henry towards this building, people bowing their heads in respect or fear, as they passed by. "You can explore the main building some other time, this place is more important," she said

As they entered the building, Henry’s eyes widened in awe. The interior was a marvel of modern technology, with a series of sleek, high-tech consoles and machinery lining the walls. There was a corridor or rather, corridors that led to different rooms that were reserved for different purposes

But Felicity led him to a room, one that seemed to be the only room in the entire corridor it resided. She pushed a button on the wall, right beside the door and it opened, they stepped into the room, if it could even be called that

It was dominated by a massive, circular track, its surface covered in a series of intricate, glowing lines. It was a wide field-like 400-meter, oval-shaped running track encased in a sleek, metallic shell, its surface etched with glowing, blue circuits that pulsed with electromagnetic energy.

There was a large pillar in the middle of the track which had several holes around it. The walls also seemed to be made of the same material and designs as the ground, which indicated that it was also a track. The walls were running tracks!

Henry was speechless, he had seen a lot of advanced technology since he arrived in this world but the room or rather machine was on another level, it looked even more futuristic.

"What is this place?" he asked, his voice filled with awe

Felicity smiled. "This room, or this building?"

"Well, both?" Henry replied with excitement

"Alright, this building is my speed lab. where i and Janine developed cutting-edge technology and training programs specifically designed for speedsters like... yourself." she began

"But this," she pointed at the track. "Is what we call, the velocity circuit, an electromagnetic cyclotron, whose purpose is to train speedsters by increasing their speed and pushing them to their limits," Felicity explained

Henry listened to everything she said but each word was more stunning than the last.

"Wait, wait, wait, did you just say cyclotron?" I don’t know much about physics, but I’ve seen somewhere before that a cyclotron is basically a circular particle accelerator," he stated with a strong affirmation

"Wow, someone’s been studying, but yes, you’re right. This is a particle accelerator that is meant to speed up the mana particles in the cells of a speedster," she explained

Henry nodded, but he was still far from understanding anything. "Okay so first, how do you know all these and why do know all these? And why do you need a speed lab? Because it seems to me that this building is very important to you,"he questioned

Felicity smiled and walked out the room, motioning for Henry to follow her. They walked for a few seconds and entered another room, one that surprised Henry even further, it was a large room filled with various equipments.

His gaze wandered, taking in the various pieces of equipment scattered throughout the lab. There were rows of high-tech treadmills, each one equipped with advanced sensors and monitoring systems. A series of futuristic, pod-like structures lined one wall, each one emitting a soft, pulsing glow.

"What are those?" Henry asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.

"Those are our speed enhancement pods," Felicity replied, a hint of excitement in her voice. "Using advanced nanotechnology and energy manipulation, these pods can temporarily enhance your speed abilities, allowing you to reach incredible velocities and react with superhuman reflexes. Though it’s very risky to use," she stated

"This is insane, with all these, I’ll definitely get faster," he voiced out with excitement. "Is this what Alicia meant when she said, mum would be able to help," he muttered inwardly, just before another thought entered his mind

"But you still haven’t answered my question," he said sharply

Felicity sighed and gestured for him to take a sit by the small bar in front of the room. The drinks available were mostly, modified water and energy drinks.

Felicity sat down as well and began with a wide smile. "Aren’t you the curious type?" she giggled. "But i was hoping you’d have figured it out by now, afterall it’ll be a dead giveaway to the little task i gave you," she said

"Huh?" Henry was confused, he had no idea what she was talking about, different thoughts came into his mind but he couldn’t place a finger on which one would be more likely.

"Alright then, but know that after I tell you, the deal is off," Felicity warned

Henry shrugged. "Fine, just tell me, everything," he said excitedly

Felicity sighed. "Alright, remember, you were the one who asked," she said, before taking out an energy drink from the refrigerator. "You see Henry, i know all about these things because one of the degrees i have is on applied physics. And as for why i know them, well even i have no idea, the subject is so boring,"

Felicity paused and took a sip from the drink and continued. "But as for why i have a speed lab and why it’s so important to me, is simply because of so many reasons, which includes you. But the main reason i built it years ago was because Henry, i was a speedster,"

Henry burst into laughter, clearly in denial. "Mum, having speed that comes from your endless, mysterious abilities doesn’t make you a speedster," he scoffed. But Felicity didn’t look like she was joking, she remained silent, smiling widely.

"Wait, are you serious?" he asked with a surprised expression

"That’s right Henry, one of my actual abilities after ice control is, speed," she replied
