Chapter 140: Chapter 130: I’ll Leave All the Arrangements to You

Julian Donovan nodded. "I’ve already had him investigated!"

The moment he learned what kind of person Sean Donovan was, he had immediately arranged for an investigation. He could only hope his suspicions were wrong and Sean wasn’t involved in some illicit business. Otherwise, Donovan Hospital would fall completely into his hands.

"Donovan, Anna has such a huge misunderstanding about you. Do you want me to go and explain things to her?"

Felix Draper took a sip of his wine as he asked. Julian shook his head. "No. If you go and explain it directly, she’ll know you’re just helping me. That will only make her push back harder."

Pursing his lips, he thought for a moment before speaking to Caleb Rhodes. "If it’s convenient, have Willow talk to Anna for me. She could approach her indirectly and explain everything. I think that would be more effective. Besides, she’s in the best position to speak from my point of view. You chased her for six years before you won her over. Anna loved me for six years... that kind of devotion can win me over, too."

A knowing smile spread across Caleb Rhodes’s face. "Not a bad idea!"

A conversation like that is always more thoughtful coming from another woman.

Then he looked at Julian and sighed. "You know, if you’d put this much effort into her sooner, maybe you two wouldn’t be going through all this suffering now."

Caleb’s words didn’t discourage Julian. Instead, a faint smile played on his lips. "If it weren’t for all this, I might never have realized I’d fallen in love with her. If it weren’t for all this, how would I have ever known she’s the love of my life and that no one could ever replace her? So, I should be grateful for it all."

When he finished, an excited Felix Draper raised his glass and clinked it against Julian’s. "Donovan, you took the words right out of my mouth! Come on, brother, let’s drink to that!"

With that, Felix tilted his head back and drained his glass, though a flicker of pain crossed his handsome features. Julian clinked glasses with Caleb before downing his own drink. Watching them, Caleb could only shake his head helplessly and drink along.

Love comes in a thousand different forms, and everyone’s journey is unique. Some, like Caleb Rhodes, know who they love from the start and pursue them relentlessly until they win their heart’s desire. Others, like Julian Donovan and Felix Draper, find love blossoming slowly over the long, quiet course of daily life.

Several drinks later, Felix was half-lounging on the private room’s sofa, swirling the liquor in his glass. He squinted at Julian. "Donovan, I’ve come up with a romantic move to win Anna over. Wanna hear it?"

Julian eagerly leaned in. Felix whispered the plan to him, but Julian rejected it instantly with a frown. "No way!"

Felix rolled his eyes at him. "Fine, forget it. It was just a suggestion, anyway!"

Felix turned to ask Caleb instead. "So, what’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?"

Caleb furrowed his brow in thought, then chuckled self-deprecatingly. "I haven’t done many romantic things, but I’ve done plenty of shameless ones. The most romantic... was probably buying her that studio."

Felix shot Julian a disgruntled look. "See? Everyone has done something romantic except you! And I’m not just giving you a hard time, Julian. You let Anna spoil you and never put any effort in. I guarantee this will be the most romantic thing you do in your entire life. Take it or leave it. I’ve done my part."

Julian sat there, hesitating for a long while before finally letting out a breath. "Alright. I’ll leave all the arrangements to you."

"No problem!"

Felix replied cheerfully.

The next day, after Anna got to work, Sean Donovan went to her department to find her. His eyes were filled with deep concern. "Anna, why didn’t you answer your phone last night?"

"Oh, my phone’s broken..."

She offered the excuse, a little embarrassed. Sean was puzzled. "It was working fine. How could it just break all of a sudden? Did you buy a new one? If you haven’t, I’ll have someone go get you one right away!"

She quickly refused. "There’s no need, Sean. I’ll just buy one myself when I find the time. Besides, if someone else buys it, they won’t know what style I like. It would be a waste."

’She didn’t want to be any more indebted to Sean Donovan. She could certainly afford a new phone herself.’

"Alright..."

Sean knew she wasn’t a materialistic person, so he didn’t push it. He just urged, "Well, make sure you buy a new one soon. I get really worried when I can’t reach you!"
