"Tian Jie, I have finally found you." A young girl walked timidly to Jing Tian's side once the crowd of socialites subsides somewhat. She addressed Jing Tian in a deep affectionate manner. Her eyes warmed up with sincerity. "You look truly stunning today. You and Young Master Gu are truly a match made in heavens."

Jing Tian lifted her eyes listlessly and glanced at that woman indifferently. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion "Sorry, you are?" Uncertainty appeared in her eyes, but deep within her eyes, there was a hint of disdain.

The woman's smile froze. A feeling of discomfort crept into her heart. Nevertheless, she smiled warmly at Jing Tian.

Jing Tian chuckled. "I don't recognize you. You must have been invited by Brother Gu side, No?" The mockery in her eyes became more pronounced by the moment.

"Tian Jie..." Xiao Shen's tone had no longer the essence of enthusiasm. It grew meeker than earlier. "How could you not recognize me? I am Xiao Shen. We...We had debuted together." 

"Oh..." Jing Tian pretended as if she had just made a realization. Her eyes widened visibly in shock. Guilt washed over her face. "I am so sorry. It's just that recently I have been in the company of all the famous celebrities— No, it's my fault. I should apologize to Shen Jie." Jing Tian immediately bowed as a gesture to an apology.

"Th-There is no need." Xiao Shen has originally thought that she enjoyed a rather harmonious relationship with Jing Tian. She had not expected that Jing Tian would be so indifferent towards her, not to mention she would humiliate her in this way.

That's how Jing Tian's mind worked. There was nothing called sincerity or true friendship. There is only profit.

Jing Tian kept it in her mind to be polite. Even if she enacted her revenge on certain people then that was through exploiting underhand comments. She never came directly in her insults.

Gentle and amiable on the surface. While harboring a venomous heart. 

"Jing Tian, I have heard that you are going to be nominated for the upcoming Spring Fashion Guru Award. Is that true?"

With joyous laughter, Jing Tian said: "They are just rumors"

"Correct me if I am wrong. For the past few months, Jing Tian's performance was by no means inferior to Zhao Liying. A friend of mine is a relative to the evaluation judges. She told me that if Jing Tian is nominated, there are high chances of her actually winning the award." One of the women out there said with a smile. "Tian Jie, when you win that ward to your name, don't forget to invite us to your celebration banquet."

No matter what, Zhao Liying was still a well-established supermodel. She had been up in the industry for so many years. Despite countless schemes from her competitors' sides, nothing had been able to bring her down.

On the other hand, Jing Tian had gained her fame only recently. 

To compare both of them and claim that Jing Tian was better would be outrageous.

"Even though I have advanced, I dare not compare myself to Zhao Liying. I am definitely not her match" Jing Tian bowed with a gentle smile.

A normal person would never name his accomplishment to luck. He would be insistent that he was talented, that it was due to his hard work.

Since she could climb high in such a short span of time, if not for being talented why would it be possible? 

'That minx Zhao Liying only managed to get this high because of her family support. When it comes to talent, I am a hundred percent certain I am better than her!'

Jing Tian laughed. She pushed away his hand shyly. "Stop it. We are not in private"

"I am just concerned. What has gotten you all worried?" Gu Ting noticed that her expressions appeared somewhat frustrated. "Could it be that you are not happy with the party arrangement?"

"It's not that Brother Gu..." She trailed off. A subtle flicker of sadness appeared in her eyes. But it was clearly noticeable. "I am just worried if my JieJie ould appear at my engagement party or not?"
