CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 1522 - 1530: I’m Very Sorry
The takeaway arrived quickly; it was delivered from the private restaurant again. After James Black took the express delivery, he immediately called Jane Sampson over.
Meanwhile, at the studio, Rock Bell showed no signs of finishing work anytime soon.
The list released by D’s on the internet took everyone at the studio by surprise.
Back then, after D’s and Rock Bell had finalized an agreement, Rock Bell even cleared her schedule to give Jane Sampson more time, sacrificing quite a few projects. Although Jane is an actor, breaking into the fashion industry was significantly beneficial for her personal development.
Jane Sampson wasn’t someone with a grassroots background to begin with. She had a natural aura from the moment of her debut. Collaborating more with high-end brands served as a confirmation of her self-worth.
Thus, Rock Bell held D’s runway collaboration in high regard this time.
After all, every year, for brand events like D’s, there would be a horde of stars scrambling desperately to get in. Even if they couldn’t walk on the runway, merely sitting in the front row to watch the show would still be enough for them to flaunt and boast via press releases.
Rock Bell directly made an international long-distance call to the office of the person in charge she had previously been in contact with. However, the one who picked up wasn’t the person in charge, but their assistant.
"Ms. Bell, there’s no issue with the list we published. After checking the records on my end, our company did indeed send runway invitations to Ms. Mandy Forest and Ms. Charlotte King. As for the previous collaboration involving Ms. Jane Sampson from your company, I’m not too aware of that. We’re simply following the company’s standard procedures to handle matters. My apologies."
The other party hung up quickly, and as the beeping sound echoed from the receiver, Rock Bell’s expression grew colder bit by bit.
She didn’t let it go at that. Instead, she tried calling a few other personnel she had been in contact with back then. But without exception, no one answered.
Unable to reach anyone at D’s, Rock Bell sat in the office, simmering with anger.
She opened her computer and saw a new email in her inbox. Upon checking, it was another email from D’s.
Rock Bell glanced over it. The email apologized and stated that, after deliberation among the company’s event-related decision-makers, they concluded that Ms. Jane Sampson didn’t meet the requirements for this year’s runway and decided not to collaborate with her. However, they warmly welcomed Ms. Jane Sampson to attend the event and offered to send her a standard invitation letter if needed.
After reading this email, Rock Bell was so angry she nearly smashed the computer.
What nonsense about deliberation among decision-makers concluding that Jane Sampson doesn’t meet the runway requirements—it was all absolute bullcrap! Rock Bell wasn’t a naïve rookie. Such decisions should’ve already been finalized when D’s reached out to her for negotiations.
How could the company finalize staff roles, even set the contract signing time, only to later come up with this so-called deliberation and decision-making process?
It was blatantly obvious—the invitation meant for Jane Sampson had been stolen by Charlotte King!
Moreover, the explanation given in D’s email showed no respect whatsoever—not to her, not to Jane Sampson, and not to the studio!
Rock Bell was so furious she lost her appetite entirely and immediately called Jane Sampson.
The phone on the other end was picked up, and Rock Bell could still hear James Black urging Jane Sampson to drink the soup. Rock Bell was momentarily surprised; James Black was surprisingly attentive when it came to taking care of his wife.
