Evelyn woke up to the sound of multiple car doors being slammed. She would have slept it off if they had been in London, but they were at the house of a dawn and no one slammed car doors here unless there was an attack.

Her eyes snapped open and her body moved to get up and sit in a sitting position when an arm curled around her waist and put her back into the bed, against the warm chest of her husband.

"Stay." He rasped in her ear and hit her directly making her clench her legs.

"I think something is going on. The sounds-"

"Breakfast, I will tell you everything at breakfast. Sleep for now." He snuggled in and she melted in his hold.

Well then, whatever he wanted.

The next time she woke up, she woke up alone. For a second, she was almost angry when she did not find him in the bed with her but then she remembered what happened when she woke up a few hours ago.

Sniffing loudly, she moved into the bathroom to get dressed for the day before making her way into the nursery where she surprisingly found her daughter up and ready for the day.

"Good morning!" She squealed and picked her daughter up. "you are ready for the day!"

There was nothing better than to start her mornings with the face of her daughter smiling and giggling.

She glanced at the nanny, "Thank you, Iona."

The nanny nodded and Evelyn walked out of the room with her daughter in her arms. The toddler was happily babbling out of words that Evalyn was the only one to understand. Soon she was working on the ground floor of the Mansion where she found Alexis.

"Hey!" Evelyn wished and Arabella leaned towards her grandmother before she stopped all of a sudden and recoiled back into the neck of her mother.

"Hey," Mildly surprised at her reaction and the sudden change, she patted the back of the young one, "you know her. She is your grandmother."

"No,"

Evelyn frowned now and just as her eyes moved to look at Alexis, she noticed someone in particular sitting next to her mother-in-law.

It was Alessia.

"Ah," Evelyn nodded at Alexis and passed her a smile, "I will make sure That Arabella is feeded."

Alexis gave her a positive reply after a bitch, excellent went into the kitchen where she found no one, fortunately. She got started on the breakfast that she was going to save her two year old. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The same toddler that was not ready to let go of her mother Unlike she usually would.

Arabella was scared and that was a given. Alessia had been the first child that she had ever spent time with and that had gone horribly wrong. The Little baby was traumatised and she had not forgotten about it.

Breakfast was quite fair. The noise and the constant chatter was something that Evelyn missed along with a constant playing with food. Currently, the toddler sat in her lap and was being spoon fed by her mother.

Evelyn sighed. You always had an idea on how to deal with Arabella, but in this situation she was blind. She had no idea how to deal with a traumatised child, especially someone who was not very open to meeting new people.

"Oh?" Evelyn gulped. "For how long?"

Salvatore smirked. "why? Are you annoyed with your in-laws already?"

Evelyn tsked. "No," she grumbled before shrugging. "It has been some time since I lived with such a huge family. I just want to know the timeline."

That was wrong. A slight omission had been made. She had never stayed with such a huge family. Alexis and Angelo were here, so was Bella Rosa’s family and not to mention the family of the Consigliere; Dante.

So yes, all in all it had been a huge change for half. More than 10 people were going to live with her and the house is going to be all hustle and bustle.

"Don’t you worry," he waved her off. " The only people you will come in constant contact with would be my parents. The other two families have been given east and west wings. They will only come here for dinner and an occasional breakfast."

East and west wings?

Evelyn narrowed her eyes slightly at the sly man before concluding, "is it just me or even you don’t want to deal with your family members?"

He chuckled before beckoning her close, "come here."

She stood up and walked closer to him, only to be pulled down on his lap. Instead of pushing him away, Evelyn snuggled closer.

"families can get overbearing." He sighed, "but they have to be protected at all costs which is why they are going to be here for sometime."

"It’s fine," she patted his chest. " Nothing is going to happen Salvatore-"

The sound of a class been shut it made her jump and Salvat snap into action. He was out of the room and she followed him only to find Alessia and Arabella standing at the end of the corridor, looking down at the fallen vase.

Wait, Evelyn frowned. They? Togethers?

"Girls, step away from the class. Let the maids clean it." Angelo came from the corner and Made a showing action, weaving the girls away from the shattered glass before stepping closer to it and collecting it with his feet into a huge pile.

Salvatore tutted and walked away but Evelyn stayed and watched the girls run together, laughing and smiling.

"Don’t worry," She turned to look at Angelo who was already looking at her, " The girls are young but it is the perfect time for them to acknowledge the importance of family."

What?

Before she could even asked what he meant, Angelo walked away leaving her to stand and wonder about it all.

What did he said her daughter that made the little daughter become friends with her cousin again? How could he, out of all people, get rid of someone’s trauma?
