Chapter 277: The Bianchi’s- IV

"What the hell are you going to see?"

Adrian whirled around to face his friend, " Are you telling me in this world that woman or always almost innocent? Are you forgetting the fact that behind that innocent face could be lying or Madam? A woman who could be responsible for trafficking people? There is a 50% chance that all that this could be true and against your wife and 50% chance that your assumptions are right. So we need to ask her if she knows the man or not."

"Find out what exactly?" Salvatore felt himself to be at the end of his wits. "you telling me with the marriage of almost 3 years, I cannot tell the fact if my wife was involved in something as gruesome as human trafficking or not? She was not involved. period. And I am not involving her any further to raise questions from her."

Adrian walks towards him before snatching the images out of his hands and pushing them in his face. "They clearly had a relationship, the guy and her father. Evelyn clearly knew who he was, all we need to know is his name and her expressions when she admits it. Her body language will tell us every thing we need to fucking know!"

One thing that Salvatore did not want any more was to traumatise her especially when he wanted children from her.

In fact, they have been having sex constantly without any protection meaning Evelyn could already be pregnant. His worst fear was that she would lose the child in a miscarriage for any kind of trauma caused which is why he had stepped back.

But Adrian was right and he knew that. Evelyn did have some kind of friendship with the guy and it was obvious with these pictures, no matter how hard he tried to unsee it.

That’s when he focused more on the picture and around his eyes. Snatching it from the hands of his friend, he stood near the light just to have more focus on the image before realising something.

He had seen the guy for himself. This man had been there for the funeral of his father-in-law and he had met Evelyn, as far as he knew, in the mall.

"She knows him.." Salvatore murmured, " I heard her say his name but I can’t remember.."

he raked around his brain, trying to find the name she called him by but came up with nothing. It had been too long and he did not see that man as an important character remember his name.

"Still no?"

"No," Salvatore answered adrian. "I can’t fucking remember his name."

Adrian hissed before cursing under his breath. "Well then," he threw his hands up in the air briefly before letting them smack against his thighs, "you admit that your wife knows him. So what the hell are we waiting for?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Salvatore glared at him before dropping the photographs on the table near him. "Wait until dinner. After that we will go back to my place."

"Ah," Adrian huffed, "stop trying to put it off. I don’t have much time, Salvatore. I would like to leave by the morning if I can."

That Salvatore understood where he came from. Adrian Murphy at the end of the day had his own business and organisations to run which is why an unplanned trip to Italy was probably costing him money at this point.

The sooner he asked Evelyn all about this, the better it would be for him as well. He was dying to know what kind of relationship did Evelyn have with the man. For all he remembered, he was just a friend and from the images he looked like one too.

"Alright then," Salvatore nodded and stood up, "let’s go down."

******

It was almost dinner time, but he knew Evelyn would never go in the hall alone. She would be waiting for him. Only with a few people lingering around, it should have been easier for Salvatore to spot his voice especially in the dazzling blue gown but he was unable to do so.

Even with Adrian by his side, they were unable to spot Evelyn even though there were hardly 10 people in the hall.

"The dining hall?" Adrian provided with the suggestion, help hopefully.

Salvatore tsked, "she won’t go in there without me." But since she was not here, she definitely had to be in the dining hall because there was no way that Evelyn, until now, could possibly be in the bathroom.

"Well then," Adrian waved his hands around, " I don’t see her here in the ballroom."

"no shit, because she isn’t here." Salvatore snapped at Adrian. "We have to check in the dining hall, come on."

Together, they walked into the dining hall and from the entrance looked around to find Evelyn who once again, was not visible to any of them. It was like his wife has vanished because Salvatore was always able to pinpoint her in a room filled with people.

Where the hell had she gone?

Adrian turned to him to give him a glance but Salvatore ignored him. Instead, he beckoned a man with his fingers who he had brought as a guard with him. "Where’s my wife?"

"She was last seen in the washroom, Sir." The guard answered. "Roberto is with her."

Roberto was with her? By God, was his wife still in the washroom?

Not wanting to hit his head in the wall by talking to the guard, Salvatore moved around to the ladies washroom where he actually found Roberto standing against the wall.

"Where—"

"Inside, sir." The reply was instant, and Salvatore didn’t waste any more time.

It was unusual for her to remain in the bathroom for such a long time. Grabbing the knob, he turned it around and opened the door to stand in the completely empty washroom.

What the hell?

He went ahead to the stalls, and on the other hand Adrian started to open them. Long before, they came in front of the last one remaining and Salvatore kicked it open only to find that one empty as well.
