[ Calibur House Residence ]

[ Inside the Residence's Basement. ]

" Father... " Carlos asks as he followed his father into the basement, a basement he didn't know existed below their House's very residence.

" What is it? " Arthur Calibur says as he walks in the front, leading the way.

" Where are we going right now? " Carlos asks his father, he asks it for his father has been silent while ordering him simply to just follow him.

" A place where I could make you strong. "

" For I knew that you can't ever survive this world just by how much your body could absorb the Mana of Nature since birth. "

" You need another, son. "

" To even combat that Richter House brat. " Arthur says as he remembers his encounter with Donovan.*

"( That child, that adopted Dungeon Brat has gone stronger than I imagined. )"

"( If this continues then the Richter House will have a great asset at their disposal, those cheaters. )"

"( After they can't even control their ancestral Dragon Magic, they probably began to use many ways to create more kinds of magic that their House could use to combat us. )"

" You will be gradually training here, for I want you to be stronger than me as soon as possible. " Arthur says as he shows him the room, the room filled with magic circles, grimoires, and enchantments, also.

" Carol!!! " Carlos sees his little aunt in that room, fainting as her body is filled with tattoos.

As he sees her, he then senses an ominous feeling that surprised him, as it felt like.

"( Carol's presence, why it feels like...? ) " Carlos suddenly remembered Draven whom he faced back then, he recounts his ominous presence that is so similar to what he sensed in Carol right now.

" Father, what have you done!? " Carlos says while approaching her but suddenly, Arthur holds his hands so hard.

" Let me- "Before Carlos could say something, Arthur slapped him so hard.

" Silence, son. "

" Look! " Arthur tells Carlos to look as he then sees Carol rising up with the tattoos all over her body.

She screams and laughs as an ominous kind of power is flowing through her skin, she struggles and then falls down again while the tattoos disappear.

" The tattoos... " Carlos says as he sees it.

" The 'Aether Marks'... " Arthur says to Carlos.

" 'Aether... Marks'...? " Carlos asks.

" A Mark made from 'Aether' a mysterious power source founded by those before me, the previous Calibur House Heads, a power that said could only be obtained if we get closer to death or even experienced death itself. "

" Like your 'aunt' here, my little cousin... "

" Did you know that she once had a disease that almost killed her when she was young? " Arthur asks while Carlos shakes his head while trying to grasp what the hell he sees.

" Of course you not, this is before I allow you to meet her again. "

" At that time, your aunt here received a disease called 'Fairy Curse', you know this kind of disease, right? " Arthur asks Carlos which Carlos immediately gasped after hearing it.

" 'Fairy Curse'!? "

" Carol once get that kind of thing back then!? " Carlos was surprised, he knows this from his self-learning.

A 'Fairy Curse' is a Curse kind of disease, unlike the Richter House's Dragon Curse that Irina Richter had, this Curse didn't turn a person into a Dragon-like monster but instead it's a sedative type of sickness that will slowly shut off the target's body system, making them go into a full coma while slowly deactivating all of the target's body system's into death.

As Carlos thinks about it, he then sees Carol coughs as she slowly wakes up, she looks alright after doing whatever she's doing.

" Carol, you're alright! " Carlos says as he sees her.

" Carlos? " Carol says as she sees him and her cousin.

She and Arthur looked at each other, for they both went silent as they thought about Carlos being here for a moment.

"( Why do you have to bring him here? Are you insane? )" Carol asks as she looks so sharply at her cousin.

They both stare at each other which made Carlos uneasy and after they do it for a while they then both looked at Carlos.

" Carlos... " Carol calls him as she looks with her serious eyes.

" Are you sure, you want this? " Carol asks Carlos which made Carlos stutter as he then looks at his father's eyes, who sharply stares at him.

*Carlos gulps.*

" I think I do... " Carlos replied while having a huge sweat, he still don't know what was going on and just follow suit.

Carlos simply agrees as he doesn't want to disagree with his father for he then asks when will they start.

" It could be done right now if you like. " Carol says to Carlos as she tells him that he would train in this basement with her, with Arthur as their main supervisor.

" From now on, we'll be doing this together, nephew. " Carol tells Carlos.

" We will train using the 'Aether' with the knowledge that the Calibur predecessors stored for us inside this basement. "

" Indeed... " Arthur tells them.

" And since I hold the records due to my position, I will make sure to make you fully immersed in the 'Aether', both of you... "

" To make sure you both become stronger for the Calibur House's sake and in order for you not to be lost against some unseeable factors. " Arthur tells them while Carol went silent and thinks back about Draven.

"( That 'Draven'... )" Carol recounts what she thinks about him.

"( His ominous presence and his power... )" she says as she looks at her own Aether Aura she emitted.

"( He's an Aether user, no doubt about it. )" Carol clenched her fist as she smirks Carlos then gets the gist.

" Draven, kukuku... "

" I can't wait... " Carol says as Carlos sees her.

"( Draven, huh? )" Carlos says as he remembers Draven's massacre of his Elven opponents back in the Prodigal Academy.

"( That Draven, what was his purpose in the academy? )" 𝑏𝑒𝘥𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑒𝘭.𝘯𝑒𝑡

"( Is he coming for the Elves? if he was going to save us back then, why did he keep the others, hostage, my classmates, friends? )"

"( Aero, Goriath, Donovan. )" Carlos thinks as he then clenched his fist.

"( I must become stronger, I want to know his reasons behind all of it. )" Carlos vows.

As the two both get their spirits up, Arthur sees them, he could see that the fire had been sparked inside the two, the fire of ambition.

"( Good, both of you. )"

"( That's what you must feel as a 'Calibur'. )" he says while smirking as he sees the younglings before him.
