Child of Destiny-Chapter 1762: Friends From Afar
...
Real World
Soaring Continent, Eastern Sea Region.
On the docks of Corner Stone City, a huge commercial ship suddenly docked itself, allowing its passengers to disembark from it.
As the flow of people was disembarking from this ship, a certain group had suddenly attracted the attention of everyone.
"Eh!? Who are those people?"
"Look at their savage appearance! Are they barbarians?"
"Tsk! Tsk! What a bulgar and illiterate group of people!"
"Don't get near them! They look dangerous."
Contrary to the fancy clothes that most of the disembarking people were wearing, this certain group indeed looked like savages. Their physique was so muscular that they even outshone the professional bodybuilders.
Their somewhat revealing clothes also highlight their properly trained muscles, making them look more intimidating. Their heights were also much taller than most of the people, reaching two to two and a half meters tall.
They looked like a bunch of giants due to their bulky build and tall height.
Moreover, this group was also carrying a bunch of weapons on their backs or waists, seemingly flaunting to everyone that they were barbarians from an isolated island.
"Tsk! This bunch of weaklings. Barbarians? Are they comparing us to those monkeys from the north?" said one of the giants.
"You can't blame them either. They live in the age of peace a little too much and become ignorant of our kind," said another.
"Should we try giving them a 'warm greeting' then?" said the guy walking beside them.
As these guys were chatting with one another, the person who seemed to be the leader of the group gave them a sharp glare. "Don't fool around. We are here for a formal business. Don't cause any trouble for the Matriarch."
Hearing his words, the bunch of savages immediately shut their mouths and suddenly changed their expressions.
Little did they know that these actions would make the people around them further distance themselves from the group.
They not only made themselves harder to approach, but had also attracted the attention of the authorities within the vicinity.
"Halt!" shouted a police officer, who was patrolling the area.
Behind him, an elite police unit prepared themselves for a bloody battle, holding their guns.
"Tsk!" the leader of the savages could not help but click his tongue when he saw this, especially after sensing that the other party was showing their hostility.
The group behind him had also squinted their eyes, seemingly assessing the strength of the police officer and the unit behind him.
"Weaklings," commented one of the brutes.
"Do they think they can threaten us with those toys?" smirked another as he caressed the handle of the axes hanging on each side of his waist.

Seeing that this group of intimidating people was showing some signs of violence, the police officer suddenly raised his pistol as he continued to question. "Drop your weapons and identify yourselves!"
The leader of the group could not help but raise his brows as he started to get impatient. It was not because of the police officers, but it was directed to the person who was supposed to receive them.
Rumble!
Not long after, organized steps suddenly rang in the distance, attracting the attention of everyone.
Casting their gaze at the source of the sound, everyone saw a battalion of soldiers marching toward the coast.
"Eh!? Are they elite soldiers from the military?"
"Is there going to be a war?"
"Hurry! Let's leave this place!"
As the people were showing panic, a pair of individuals suddenly walked out of the military vehicle that was leading the soldiers.
Seeing these people, the police officer almost jumped out of joy, seemingly finding his savior.
"Commander Nathan, Sir Joaquin!" The officer swiftly ran toward the pair as if he were seeking his guardians.
Nathan slightly nodded his head when he saw the officer and explained. "Sorry for the commotion, but these people are guests of the Springfield Family."
He then waved his hand, signaling to his assistant. "These are the official papers that granted their entry."
"If you have any other questions, you can talk to my assistant," he said coolly before walking toward the group of savages.
He smiled at the leader of the group as he greeted them. "I apologize for my little delay. Some guys don't welcome your entry, so I have to give them some 'explanation' before coming here."
"On behalf of Soaring Continent, we welcome you, warriors of the Asad Tribe, to our country," he added as he extended his right hand.
The leader of the other party also smiled when he saw Nathan before accepting the handshake. "We, from the Asad Tribe, have also heard the fame of the Dragon King. It is an honor to meet you."
"You can just call me, Scar," he added as he assessed the other party. "The Matriarch is right about you being a great warrior equal to your tribe's heroes."
Nathan just smiled despite knowing that the other party was trying to measure his powers. He then gave the latter an inviting gesture as he continued. "I know that you and your people have journeyed here for quite a long time."
"Do you want to head to your living place first before discussing your official business?" he asked.
Scar swept his gaze in the surroundings before smiling. "You are right. It is better to leave here first since this is not a good place for discussion."
It was also at this moment that he realized the existence of another powerful being alongside Nathan.
Scar could not help but halt his tracks for a moment as he could feel the unified spirits of thousands of beasts coming from this person.
There was only a single person he could think of when he saw those bestial spirits 'living' in harmony in a single body – Thousand Beast Joaquin Giovanni.
He chuckled a little as he said. "To think that we will also see the legend of the great mountains of the west – Sir Joaquin."
At the same time, there was also a savage light flashing in his eyes, somewhat showing his intent to for battle.
Warriors and beasts were always at each other's throats in their place.
But he did his best to suppress it as this was not the right place to test the strength of this legendary expert.
Joaquin could understand what the other party was feeling as he was having the same urges. He smirked as he spoke. "We can look for a place to test our strengths later. But for now, we have to leave this place before those old geezers of the Federal Army throw a fit."
Massaging the back of his neck, Joaquin suddenly turned around and immediately returned to the military vehicle after the brief greeting.
Nathan then led the warriors of the Asad Tribe as he walked alongside Scar. "I know what you have come here, but you better not show any suspicious movements that will attract the unnecessary curiosity of the other forces."
"We are in a very fickle situation right now, so we have to be careful," he warned with full seriousness.
"Don't worry, Sir Nathan. The Matriarch has repeatedly warned us about the importance of this matter," said Scar almost immediately before adding. "We will not disturb the kids' lives and only act according to the plan you have presented."
Nathan nodded in satisfaction as he assured the other party as well. "We will make all the arrangements, so there is no need for you and your group to do anything complicated. Just act as per the agreement, and things will go smoothly."
If he was going to be honest, Nathan had to admit that he was worried that this group of brutes, with their hot-tempered and straightforward personalities, would mess up the plan.
He did not want to experience the same thing when he had met Joaquin for the first time.
Just thinking about it gave him quite a headache.
…
In the meantime, while Nathan was entertaining the guests that came from the Asad Tribe, the news quickly spread in the circle and attracted a lot of attention, just like what they had expected.
The representative of different organizations, corporations, and aristocratic families that were left in the Soaring Continent to observe the situation here quickly got wind of the news and reported it to their superiors almost immediately.
This aroused the interest of different factions, especially since they all knew that the Springfield Family was currently at war with the Black Serpent Mafia and its allies.
"Is the Springfield Family showing some weakness and asking for some assistance?"
"Since when have those Dragons of Ancient Times been afraid of something? They must be plotting something."
"Keep an eye on their movements. I want everything about their actions to be closely monitored."
"Be wary of those 'barbarians,' those guys are not easy to deal with."
Different circles had different thoughts about this matter. But there was a single thing that they all shared – never provoke those people from the Asad Tribe since they were a bunch of crazy people, much crazier than the Springfield Family.
