Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 413: Why Not Treat Me to a Meal
Before Ruby Sullivan could answer, George Jr. told the waiter, "This lady made a mistake with her order, bring her an Eiffel Tower cocktail."
This drink is the strongest in the bar, somewhat like a Long Island Iced Tea, with each component being a high-proof alcohol, giving it the color of a sunset.
The waiter had encountered similar situations before, but the strict discipline from his boss meant he nodded politely at George Jr., then turned to Ruby Sullivan again, "Ma’am, would you like Code Nine or an Eiffel Tower?"
It was the first time Ruby Sullivan had been put on the spot here, and she didn’t expect the waiter to be so considerate. She smiled immediately, "Code Nine, please." She felt it necessary to prepare a generous tip.
Even under the dim light, you could see George Jr.’s features distorted with anger. If this were Bellaza, with his arrogance, he would definitely have caused trouble for the waiter.
He said furiously, "I want an Eiffel Tower."
"Certainly, sir."
The Robert Brothers were quite drunk and exaggeratedly whistled at the scene, "Go for it, bro."
Friends unaware of the situation started to make a fuss, seeing it as nothing more than an amusing spectacle between someone freshly single and a previous admirer.
George Jr. walked over to Luna, trying to get her to give up her seat, "Could you... you know what I mean." He feigned embarrassment with a smile. In reality, he didn’t know that Ruby Sullivan and Luna were good friends, or that Luna knew all about his ridiculous antics.
"Sorry." Luna squinted at him without hospitality, "I must sit with my sweetheart."
Robert Jr. backed his brother, "Hey, Luna, maybe the lady beside you wants to sit with George Jr.?"
It was Ruby Sullivan’s first time seeing the brothers, so she replied bluntly, "I don’t want to."
The Robert Brothers were prominent figures, leagues above Ruby Sullivan. If Ruby was still Dr. L’s apprentice, they might have been civil for his sake, but now, who does she think she is? Just a pretty face.
The news of her fallout with Dr. L was widely broadcast last year, so without Dr. L, what right did she have to speak to them like that?
Robert Sr. slammed his glass on the table and sneered, "George Jr., she probably thinks you’re not as good as Dr. L." Then they both laughed maliciously.
Everyone present felt awkward, Ruby Sullivan’s face flushed with anger, knowing that a confrontation would do her no good, so she smiled at Luna, expressing her wish to leave.
Then T, seated in the middle, coldly said, "Robert, are you too drunk to know what you’re saying? Will you leave yourself, or should I call security for you?"
"T, are you speaking on behalf of that woman?"
"Wenny is my friend, not this or that woman." T corrected with a smile, but his eyes were icy, fixing on Robert Sr. and sobering him up significantly.
T had a unique status, with influence akin to Dr. L, though Dr. L managed The Lawson Group publicly, while T was involved in lucrative endeavors elsewhere.
Faced with T’s stare, Robert’s throat went dry, worried that continuing the spat would lead to dire consequences.
"Bro, let’s just go." Robert Jr. chickened out first, standing to pat his older brother’s shoulder.
Robert Sr. did not persist either, leaving without so much as a pride-saving retort.
T glanced at George Jr., still seated, and gestured invitingly for him to leave.
Only then did George Jr. glare at Ruby Sullivan before leaving sullenly.
Luna nudged Ruby Sullivan’s shoulder, "Not many can get T to drink with them. It was just a coincidence running into him alone at the bar. I only mentioned you’d be here tonight, and he came over." She winked vigorously at her single friend, fearing she’d miss what destiny had planned.
"Aha, no wonder T didn’t say much to us tonight."
"I see."
The two girls sitting between Ruby Sullivan and T shared a knowing smile, getting up to leave. "It’s getting late, see you tomorrow."
Both were models acquainted with Ruby Sullivan from Sasha Shaw’s show and were friends of Emma’s.
Ruby Sullivan stood to hug them, "See you tomorrow."
Truthfully, she also wanted to leave, but felt she should thank T.
Luna, realizing she’d be left as the third wheel, excused herself to the restroom and left.
At this moment, the waiter returned with the two drinks ordered earlier. Ruby Sullivan handed over the prepared tip, saying, "Thank you."
She took a sip of the warm juice with pleasant surprise, not expecting this time it would be her favorite milk cocoa.
T tilted his head to look at her. Seeing the sweet smile on her face, he smiled too, "Is it good?"
"It’s cocoa, my favorite."
Who would have thought a girl indulging in chocolate at this hour, not worrying about gaining weight, was indeed as unique as before?
Well, there are many girls like that, but to T, Ruby Sullivan was special simply because she was special in his eyes.
"About just now, thanks," Ruby Sullivan took the chance to express her gratitude.
Actually, she was a bit afraid of T. His background was far beyond hers, and they were not familiar like her and Dr. L were. Her connection with T was at most acquaintance level.
Three years ago, T approached Dr. L to create a special perfume in memory of his mother. Uninterested, Dr. L passed him to Ruby Sullivan.
Over three months, she crafted over twenty samples, none capturing his intended emotion, causing T considerable gloom.
Ruby Sullivan felt guilty as a perfumer, eager to deliver happiness through scents in such a challenge, but she couldn’t grasp what he described. Knowing T enjoyed Chinese food, she invited him to a meal at her place to apologize.
That day, T found the scent she routinely used to be quite fitting.
Ruby Sullivan tweaked her regular perfume with a hint of tuberose and jasmine, successfully creating the scent T desired.
Though T later mused about enjoying her Chinese cuisine again, she assumed it was merely being polite. Over the following years, despite crossing paths at Dr. L’s private parties, their exchanges were merely superficial and unremarkable.
So seeing Luna’s cryptic behavior today left Ruby Sullivan a bit helpless.
T chuckled, "If you really want to thank me, how about treating me to a meal? I miss your delicious Chinese food."
"Um..." Ruby Sullivan chuckled, slightly unsure how to respond.
Indeed, everything has a double edge, even being too good a cook.
