“Sir Hughes, I’m not against the idea of having Xaviera stay at the Hughes’s for a while, but Madam Hughes is determined to drive Xaviera to live in the wilderness in the suburbs. How can I be at ease with that? I might as well take Xaviera home. If she remains with the Hughes family, someone might plot against her,” Caleb Mamet spoke meekly.

Xaviera grasped at Caleb’s sleeve, her face full of fear, “Caleb, please take me away. I’m terrified every time I see Madam Hughes. She even said she’d torture me, venting all her hatred on me. It’s horrifying!”
