Liu Shi Shi was also excited about what he was up to and she sat down onto a chair and said, "Whatever it is, I’m sure it’ll be something great."

Lin Xuan Qi nodded and said, "Remember the taste I’ve always reminisced about.

"Today, we shall see if I’ve successfully replicated it."

He said and glanced at the entrance, stretching out his neck.

Finally, Auntie Sue entered the dining hall with a servant girl behind her.

"Master Lin, I’ve cooked them according to your instructions." She said while the servant girl placed the dishes onto the table.

There were three dishes which were fried meat, dumplings and fried vegetables.

The others saw that the dishes looked visually the same as before and they wondered whether it was the same for the taste.

But Lin Xuan Qi couldn’t wait, he picked up his chopsticks immediately and went for a piece of meat.

He put the meat into his mouth and munched on it.

As usual, the culinary skills of Auntie Sue were exemplary and the tenderness and flavor from the meat itself was preserved to its max.

But now, there was something else on top of these tastes.

Lin Xuan Qi tasted the familiar taste he got from MSG back where he came from.

It tasted like heaven for him.

He closed his eyes and savored every moment of it before opening his eyes again to pick up another piece of meat.

When the others saw his reaction, they were also curious and they picked up the meat, dumplings and vegetables.

At first they didn’t feel much and it was the same to them.

But when it hit, they frowned and could make out what they were experiencing in their mouths.

The taste wasn’t saltiness, sourness, sweetness or bitterness.

It was something else and nothing compared to it.

Except maybe for the seafood they had at the beach.

This new taste enhanced the taste of the dish and made them want more of it.

"Master Lin, me like so much." Zhi Yong was full of smiles while he munched on the meat he had in his mouth.

It was so delicious he picked up more of the meat even before he had swallowed the meat inside.

Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi were lost for words.

And they focused on the food.

Seeing how it was, Auntie Sue was curious and she asked, "Master Lin, what was that thing you’ve asked me to add into the dishes?"

"Oh that... I haven’t thought of a name for it. If you want to you can cook something and try it out." Lin Xuan Qi replied.

He wasn’t about to name it MSG to the people of the Da Qian Dynasty and so he had to think up something first.

And it would be great if he let Auntie Sue figure out the right portion to use for cooking the dishes.

Auntie Sue felt more than honored to be able to taste the novelty item.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded and said, "If there’s enough left, use it for the dishes at the wedding dinner."

He had an idea and the wedding dinner might be a great opportunity for him to introduce the MSG to those attending the wedding dinner.

And as they spoke, the others didn’t stop their eating.

It was so good.

And while he ate, a voice sounded at the entrance of the dining hall.

"Master Lin, there’s someone called Madam Sai at the gate requesting to enter."

A guard entered the dining hall and bowed at him.

He was new from the latest batch of guards and so he didn’t know who Madam Sai was.

When Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi heard that it was Madam Sai, their chopsticks froze in the air and they stopped.

The realization that the wedding was tomorrow finally hit them.

Earlier they were busy with the preparations and it was a sort of escape from what was about to happen for them.

Lin Xuan Qi held the hands of Xue Cong and Yue Jie to comfort them and said to the guard, "Welcome her in."

The guard bowed and turned around, heading straight back to the gates.

Xue Cong and Yue Jie glanced at him and nodded their heads while they waited.

Soon, the familiar voice of Madam Sai boomed in the dining hall.

She glanced around at the decorations put up, nodded approvingly and said, "Everything is well done."

He wanted to pass her some pieces of silver for her help but she refused.

"You can give me a red packet tomorrow on the wedding day itself." She said with her handkerchief covering her mouth, as if she was shy about it.

Giving out red packets was a gesture with auspicious meaning in the Da Qian Dynasty.

But other than the red packets, the much more common currency was taels or pieces of silver after that.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and replied, "How absentminded of me, I will make sure of it tomorrow.

"What else do we need to do today?"

Madam Sai waved her handkerchief around and said, "First you are not supposed to see the brides for the rest of the day.

"The brides can follow me to prepare for tomorrow.

"As for you, you need to prepare the gifts for the guests, the necessary items you need to take the hands of the brides.

"Here is a list of the items."

She said and passed Lin Xuan Qi a piece of paper.
