Chapter 352: Dealership

When everyone had finished the food they had in front of them, the plates were emptied with not a single bit of the braised beef left.

"I wish I could have more."

"Me too."

"Well, we can just ask..."

The young masters wanted more and they glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi.

Lin Xuan Qi didn’t expect them to have such a good appetite but he was fine to let them have more.

He would help in what he was going to do next.

"I believe that the bottle would have more than enough left for another round." Lin Xuan Qi said and the young masters gave out another round of cheers.

"In the meantime, I shall sing a song for your entertainment.

"After having so many drinks today, my voice might not be as good as it is.

"Hope you can understand."

Mei stood back into the middle of the room and offered to sing while they waited for the next round of food.

"It’s an honor for us to be able to hear your voice." The young masters raised their wine cups and got back to drinking.

Mei bowed at them and sat down with a pipa.

She strummed it in a melancholy tune and all the young masters’ eyes focused on her.

They closed their eyes, listened while they nodded with the tune going slow and sentimental.

Then, Mei opened her mouth and sang the first line. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Had life remained like the first embrace, no autumn winds would mar its grace."

Lin Xuan Qi nearly spat out his wine when he heard what she was singing.

He didn’t know how but the poem he had recited for Liu Shi Shi had been made into a song and Mei was singing it.

As she went on with the song, the young masters held their wine cups in their hands, twirled their heads or nodded with it, as if they had a lost love that was as deep as the lyrics were saying.

Even Sima Long, Huo Fei Li and young master Heng were soaked in the mood of the lyrics.

Sima Long thought about Zhang Jie and their unborn child.

Huo Fei Li was thinking about how the lyrics matched his situation with Lu Ting perfectly.

While young master Heng marveled in the beauty of Mei and how he had met her in Yi Hong Lou.

Only Lin Xuan Qi in the room frowned at the unintended consequences of what he had done.

"We dreamed of wings that shared one flight." When Mei was done with the last sentence, the young masters kept quiet with their eyes closed.

Each reminiscing their own memories and emotions the song invoked.

"Had life remained like the first embrace..." They mumbled the first sentence to themselves repeatedly and gave out a sigh.

It was perfect as an opening and made the rest of the lyrics pale in comparison.

But it was so good that it didn’t matter.

Even though it wasn’t the first time they had heard it, it was able to make them feel the sense of loss and melancholy.

"Have you found out who wrote the poem?" One of the young masters asked and Mei shook her head.

She glanced out of the window into the distance and gave out a long sigh, "I’ve asked around but no one knows who wrote it."

The young masters nodded their heads and did the same.

It was such a waste of talent they thought.

Suddenly, Mei turned her head and glanced at Lin Xuan Qi and asked, "The closest I could get was that the poem originated from Hong Feng City.

"I’m not sure if young master Lin or Sima Long is aware of who it is?"

"I wouldn’t know, but brother Lin here..." Sima Long said and patted on the shoulder of Lin Xuan Qi, "...is also a great poet comparable to whoever it was that wrote the poem."

"Really?" The young masters glanced at Lin Xuan Qi and asked.

Huo Fei Li, having heard the poem that Lin Xuan Qi had made, nodded his head and assured them, "Brother Lin here is indeed great in poetry too."

Cough

"I just dabble in it as an interest. Nothing to shout about." Lin Xuan Qi gave out a fake cough and said.

Luckily, the doors opened and the next round of food was brought into the room by the servants.

Young master Heng took the opportunity to talk about business.

"Brother Lin, you were saying that the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence would be done differently?"

Lin Xuan Qi nodded and quickly changed to the topic, "Yes, I would like to sell it in what I call a dealership model."

"Dealership model? That’s something new for me, care to elaborate." Young master Heng asked and the other young masters also nodded their heads.

They feasted on the food while also paying attention for any business opportunity.

After tasting the difference that the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence made on the food, they were confident that it would be selling well like the soap would be.

Lin Xuan Qi began to brief them on how the dealership model worked and they got excited by it.

"How do you intend to separate the areas for Bian Jing?" One of them asked and the rest stretched out their necks waiting for his reply.

"I would separate the areas into four and if possible five."

"What do you mean by possibly five?"

"North, South, East and West for the four and if possible, the imperial palace as the fifth." Lin Xuan Qi explained and they burst out in laughter.

"Didn’t realize that you were so ambitious." They said and lifted their wine cups, "Here is a toast for being able to have five dealership areas."

Lin Xuan Qi returned their toast and young master Heng gave out a chuckle.

"I think it’s not that out of reach for you."

Lin Xuan Qi pretended not to know and he cupped his hand at young master Heng, "Thanks for your well wishes."

"When will you accept proposals to be dealers for the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence?" One of the young masters asked.
