Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 156: Maxim Sinclair Prepares to Explain Everything to Summer Lowell
Author’s note: The previous Chapter shows as being under review, so you might have to wait for a bit, sorry!
Butler Sutton, already accustomed to Summer Lowell’s reaction, smiled, shrugged, and replied, "I think you should quickly take the things back, and then tell the Young Madam’s reaction to the Young Master; he will naturally tell you what to do."
Assistant Collins, with no choice but to follow the suggestion, sighed, cordially said goodbye to Summer Lowell, and left Varden Villa with the document folder.
After returning to the company, Assistant Collins found Maxim Sinclair in the office, placed the document folder back to its original spot, and Maxim Sinclair, having already anticipated this result, glanced at the unopened folder, and in a muted tone, asked Assistant Collins, "Summer didn’t accept the document? Did she completely ignore you?"
Assistant Collins nodded, "Miss Lowell was eating and indeed looked like she didn’t want to bother with me."
"Alright, I got it. Put the document back to its place, and go busy yourself with your work."
Assistant Collins nodded and left the office.
After he left, Maxim Sinclair fiddled with the pen in his hand, grabbed the phone nearby, and opened the real-time surveillance of the villa.
On the monitor, Summer Lowell was squatting in the small garden, messing with something unknown.
After a while, just when Maxim Sinclair was about to turn off the surveillance and contact overseas staff for a video conference, he saw Summer Lowell through the screen suddenly stand up, take her bag from a maid’s hand, and walk towards the exit.
Where was she going?
Maxim Sinclair felt puzzled and dialed Butler Sutton’s phone, "Did Summer say where she was going?"
"I asked, but the Young Madam did not tell me."
Maxim Sinclair pinched the corners of his eyes in frustration.
Summer Lowell’s temper is truly heavy now; since bringing her here, the number of times she’s spoken with him can be counted on one hand.
Unfortunately, he found himself helpless with her, so he could only coax and patiently wait, hoping she will come around someday.
An hour later, after concluding the video conference, Maxim Sinclair called the driver arranged by Butler Sutton for Summer Lowell. Even though she initially took the car arranged, shortly after arriving in the city, she got out and sent the driver back home.
Now the driver also doesn’t know where she has gone.
Maxim Sinclair thought for a moment, asked the bodyguard he arranged by Summer Lowell’s side for her current location, summoned Assistant Collins, canceled all further engagements, and drove to find Summer.
By then, Summer Lowell was inside an office building, looking for work.
After being politely rejected by the fourth design company, Summer Lowell bought a coffee and sat on a long bench by the street, aimlessly watching passersby.
The driver parked the car by the roadside, Maxim Sinclair sat in the backseat, quietly watching Summer Lowell sitting on the street-side bench.
Losing shine in her eyes, Maxim Sinclair began doubting his decision.
Was binding her to his side without explaining anything, without revealing the truth, really a mistake?
Maxim Sinclair recalled Butler Sutton’s prior subtle hints and sighed quietly.
She looked so sad; why not just tell her the truth?
As Maxim Sinclair was about to get out of the car, he raised his head and saw someone sitting next to Summer Lowell.
That person was none other than Justin Huxley, who had brought Summer Lowell to this desperate situation.
Maxim Sinclair’s face turned grim, his eyes locked intensely on Summer Lowell, who, upon seeing Justin Huxley, suddenly transformed into a radiant smile.
When she faces him, her expression is cold like ice, not even a smile, not a word.
But in front of Justin Huxley, she seemed to become a different person, her eyes and brows carrying laughter.
Why? Clearly, he’s the one who treats her the best.
Justin Huxley has just been using her.
Sitting on the bench, Summer Lowell greeted Justin Huxley with a smile, "Aren’t you supposed to be working? Sneaking out too?"
Justin Huxley took her coffee and placed his freshly bought fruit tea in her hand, "You have quite a noticeable dark circle under your eyes, better skip the coffee, have some fruit tea instead, sleep early tonight, take care of yourself."
Summer Lowell obediently agreed, took a sip from the cup without hesitation.
From afar, Maxim Sinclair witnessed this scene, and his expression grew darker.
How could she be so foolish, to dare drink anything Justin Huxley handed her!
After sitting with her for a while, Justin Huxley casually spoke, "How’s everything lately? You don’t look very happy from your expression."
Summer Lowell took the chance of bowing her head to hide her grievances, smiled faintly, "Things are as usual, good and bad; being away from home, it all seems the same."
"Why are you here today?" Justin Huxley turned around, glanced at the towering office building behind, "I saw you coming out of a design company earlier, are you job hunting?"
Summer Lowell nodded.
"How did it go?"
"Waiting for notification." Summer Lowell casually replied, not daring to speak the truth. The truth is, when they heard she was formerly the design director at Stellart, their expressions changed immediately.
During the third company interview, Summer Lowell couldn’t help but stop the interviewer and inquire why they refused to proceed with the interview upon learning of her former position as design director at Stellart.
Luckily, the human resource director’s temperament was decent, took her aside, and politely explained the reason.
While Stellart’s Shanghai branch opened only a few years ago, its founder has numerous friends in design circles.
Somehow, word got around in Shanghai’s design industry that Summer Lowell is someone who sells company confidential information for personal profit.
Who would dare employ such a person in their company?
Summer Lowell stared at the tea cup in her hands for a long time before stating, "Might as well take this time to rest well."
Justin Huxley was about to invite her for dinner, but upon turning, he keenly noticed the parked car on the roadside, the one Maxim Sinclair frequently uses.
"I initially wanted to treat you to a meal, but I have an important meeting tonight," Justin Huxley glanced at the time and sighed with regret, "We’ll catch up when I’m free, I’ll take you around while you’re still free from work."
Unable to guarantee her personal freedom, Summer Lowell didn’t provide an exact response, "We’ll arrange it if there’s time."
Justin Huxley looked at the parked car once more, intentionally reached out to tap on Summer Lowell’s head affectionately, stood up, and left the spot.
Once his figure completely disappeared at the corner, Maxim Sinclair instructed the driver to move the car in front of Summer Lowell.
Noticing the car approaching, Summer Lowell raised her head, saw the window rolling down, revealing Maxim Sinclair staring at her without expression.
Summer Lowell felt impatient inside, remaining seated on the bench, equally expressionless, staring back at Maxim Sinclair.
The two remained in a stalemate for a long time before Summer Lowell finally admitted defeat and walked over.
