Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 175: Summer Lowell Is Missing
Maxim Sinclair turned around and somehow brought over a chair, placing it next to the recliner. He patted the recliner and said to Summer Lowell, who was standing by the railing, "Come here and sit."
Summer Lowell shook her head, "I’m fine standing here, you go ahead and sit down yourself."
"Standing is tiring, come and sit down to enjoy the breeze." Maxim said as he started getting up to grab Summer.
Summer looked unwilling, but her tone carried a hint of playfulness, "You’re so annoying, I said, if you want to sit, just sit yourself."
Summer turned her body, about to dodge, but when she glanced back, she saw Tina Huxley had somehow come up.
Feeling somewhat awkward, she stopped her movement and gestured to Maxim Sinclair, who was approaching, "The Huxley lady has come over; maybe she has something to talk about with you."
Maxim followed her gesture to look towards Tina, simultaneously quickly wiping the smile off his face.
Tina Huxley felt upset by his expression, forcing a smile as she approached, "Maxim, there seems to be a problem with the yacht’s course; they want you to head over."
"Isn’t the person in charge there?" Maxim showed no intention of going, "Let the person in charge handle it, just return the way we came, what problem could there be?"
Tina Huxley shook her head, "I don’t know, but they looked anxious and insisted you should come down; no one else dared to call you, so they pushed me to do it."
Maxim Sinclair frowned slightly, uneasy, and glanced at Summer Lowell, "I need to go check this out. You better come with me; it’s windy up here, and I don’t feel at ease leaving you alone."
Tina Huxley’s expression turned unpleasant, turning her face away. Maxim Sinclair’s words made it seem like she would do something to Summer.
Summer Lowell also felt the awkward atmosphere, unable to bear the spreading awkwardness, urging Maxim, "Just go if they ask you to, why fuss so much."
Maxim Sinclair shook his head and chuckled lightly, "Alright then, I’ll head down, it’s rare to hear you speak up."
He shouldn’t have mentioned it; as soon as he did, Tina Huxley’s expression worsened.
What’s so good about Summer Lowell that she can order Maxim Sinclair around so effortlessly?
Judging by Maxim Sinclair’s reaction, he seemed to be enjoying it as well.
It was simply unbelievable.
Summer Lowell didn’t miss the expression on her face, realizing her thoughts, she chuckled softly, raising her eyes to look into the distance, ignoring Tina Huxley’s lingering presence.
Once Tina Huxley and Maxim Sinclair had left the upper deck of the yacht, Summer Lowell withdrew her gaze, shaking her head with a low laugh, "It’s utterly ridiculous."
"Well said, I find it rather ridiculous too."
Summer Lowell’s laughter abruptly stopped as she noticed Melanie Sinclair, who appeared unexpectedly, and fell silent.
Melanie Sinclair greeted her rather familiarly, "Hello there, sister-in-law, we’ve met before, though back then you didn’t pay much attention to me."
Summer Lowell sensed something amiss, taking two steps back to widen the distance, warily eyeing Melanie Sinclair, "It’s windy up here, and you’re not dressed warmly, better go down."
Melanie Sinclair chuckled lightly, covering her mouth, "Sister-in-law seems... a bit scared! Why is that?"
Summer Lowell felt increasingly uneasy, unable to resist glancing towards the stairway.
She should have gone down with Maxim Sinclair.
Melanie Sinclair caught every change in her expression, "Sister-in-law, are you thinking why didn’t you go down with big brother?"
The conversation reached a point where Summer Lowell realized Melanie Sinclair wasn’t here with good intentions, "What do you want?"
"I don’t intend to do anything major," Melanie Sinclair smiled at her, her enchanting eyes curving more beautifully with her smile, "It’s just that sister-in-law is quite an eyesore, particularly so."
"You better calm down and don’t do anything foolish," Summer’s voice trembled, "Maxim Sinclair will be back soon."
"Thank you for the reminder, sister-in-law." Melanie Sinclair laughed so hard her body shook, "But rest assured, big brother won’t be coming up anytime soon, he’s been held up by Tina Huxley and the people steering the yacht below, they said there’s an issue with the course."
Summer Lowell’s gaze instantly turned icy, "Did you tamper with the yacht?" 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"So smart, no wonder big brother looks at you differently." Melanie Sinclair clapped her hands twice.
Summer Lowell, seeing the undisguised hatred in her eyes, couldn’t help but ask, "Did I ever offend you?"
"If we’re being picky, you really didn’t offend me." Melanie Sinclair admitted freely, "As for why I have to deal with you, that’s for you to figure out."
...
Maxim Sinclair held a wet wipe, wiping the stain on his sleeve while heading back up the yacht.
Earlier below, he accidentally bumped into a crew member with coffee, but luckily, not much coffee was spilled, otherwise, he’d be returning with a mess.
Once back on the upper deck, Maxim scanned the area, glanced at a passing cruise ship in the distance, then turned to the security officer following him, "Where’s my wife? Wasn’t she just up here enjoying the breeze? How come after just a quick trip, she’s nowhere to be seen?"
The security officer looked equally bewildered, "I don’t know, sir, I just came on shift, Mr. Sinclair should ask someone else."
Maxim Sinclair’s face darkened as he turned around, quickly descended the ladder, looked around, then rushed to the bathroom, asking a young girl who just came out, "Is my wife in there?"
The girl blushed and shook her head, "Your wife was always on deck, after she went up briefly earlier in the afternoon, I haven’t seen her come down since."
An ominous suspicion crept into Maxim Sinclair’s mind, he rushed to the control room to check the surveillance footage from the upper deck, only to find out, this yacht had no surveillance cameras at all.
The person in charge, who came along with the ship, rushed over upon hearing the news, trembling with fear, "Mr... Mr. Sinclair, how about you call Mrs. Sinclair? Is she playing some prank on you?"
Maxim Sinclair searched room by room for Summer Lowell, "She didn’t carry her phone with her."
Previously, Maxim Sinclair feared Justin Huxley might secretly send some unwanted messages to Summer via her phone, so he confiscated her phone and hasn’t returned it yet.
Melanie Sinclair, awakened by the commotion, walked over drunkenly, hanging onto Tina Huxley’s shoulder, "What’s going on here, looking for something or playing a game?"
Maxim Sinclair’s eyes, cold as ice, swept over like a blade, making Tina Huxley’s heart tremble with fear, she raised her hand to cover Melanie Sinclair’s mouth.
Within two minutes, Maxim Sinclair had searched every corner of the yacht before stepping onto the ladder again, a look of determination on his face as he barked orders to the person in charge, "Turn the ship around, everyone, search for her, it’s windy outside, my wife has surely fallen overboard, if anything happens to her, I will make sure every one of you pays dearly."
The manager turned pale with fright, arranging for the crew to conduct the rescue while calling back for help.
