Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 188: Justin Huxley’s True Motive for Using Summer Lowell
Tina Huxley finished speaking and reached out to pat Justin Huxley’s slightly crooked collar, "Just like you did before, when you get bored, switch it up quickly. Don’t engage in those disgusting dramas."
"I don’t need you to teach me how to handle things." Justin Huxley chuckled softly and gently pressed his right index finger against Tina Huxley’s forehead, "Hurry up, your friend won’t be happy if you’re late."
"Bye bye~" Tina Huxley waved her fingers, her gaze drifting over to Summer Lowell’s room, a flash of disdain crossed her face, then she twisted her waist and left the place.
Shortly after she left, Summer Lowell, who had changed into a new dress, came out from the room inside and asked Justin Huxley for his opinion at the door: "Isn’t this one a bit too flashy?"
She was wearing a light blue mermaid dress with smooth and exquisite lines, perfectly outlining her graceful figure.
Brightness flashed in Justin Huxley’s eyes, casually extinguishing the cigarette in his hand and pacing over, "No, it’s just right."
Summer Lowell was made a little embarrassed by his reaction and took a small step back, "I see there’s another one that’s more conservative and formal. You mentioned this engagement occasion might have many elders attending, so perhaps something more formal is better."
"If you like, you can try them all on. But as for this one... I’ve decided you should wear it for the engagement ceremony. As for the others, you can wear them when I take you to other events. Try them out today while you have the chance."
Summer Lowell didn’t actually like this dress.
She felt very uncomfortable wearing it, and just as she was about to open her mouth to discuss it again with Justin Huxley, the butler arrived.
Following her gaze, Justin Huxley looked behind, "Uncle Adler, what’s up, do you need something from me?"
Butler Adler smiled at Summer Lowell, and then spoke to Justin Huxley about his purpose, "Old Master Huxley is back, he’s having tea in the backyard, said he wants you to come over, has something to discuss with you."
"Okay, I got it, I’ll go over right away." Justin Huxley didn’t dare to be careless and promptly agreed, "Summer, try on the dresses yourself first. I’ll go see Grandpa; he might have something important to say to me."
Summer Lowell nodded understandingly, "You go ahead, I’m fine here."
Justin Huxley walked along the Chinese-style corridor to the back garden, where Old Master Huxley was playing with a chessboard.
He straightened his clothes, walked up respectfully, and greeted, "Grandpa, you asked for me."
"It’s been some time since you accompanied me to play chess, sit down, play with me for a while."
"Alright, Grandpa." Justin Huxley sat opposite him dutifully.
Old Master Huxley sniffed: "Why do you have such a strong smell of smoke?"
Justin Huxley lowered his head to smell his own sleeve and smiled awkwardly, "I just had a craving for cigarettes, smoked two just now. When I heard the butler say you were looking for me, I didn’t change before coming down. If you find it unpleasant, I can head up to change."
"No need, I don’t mind. Just smelling the smoke makes me want a cigarette too, but unfortunately, the doctor said I shouldn’t smoke anymore."
"That’s my fault." Justin Huxley apologized as he arranged the chess pieces, "But it’s lucky there’s wind today. In a while, the smell should dissipate."
Once the chess pieces were set up, Old Master Huxley took the teacup nearby, sipped lightly, and looked at Justin Huxley with profound eyes, "Let me ask you, are you serious about the lady upstairs?"
Justin Huxley didn’t reply, but looked at Old Master Huxley with puzzled eyes.
Old Master Huxley spat out the tea leaves from his mouth, "I heard from Tina that this girl once had some unclear situation with Maxim Sinclair?"
"Yes, Maxim Sinclair was quite fond of her. He even did some irrational things in order to keep her by his side."
"Sounds like she’s not a trouble-free girl." Old Master Huxley frowned discontentedly, "What’s your intention? Tell me."
Justin Huxley glanced around, hesitated for a moment, then slowly started talking: "She is currently Maxim Sinclair’s greatest weakness. I plan to use her to obtain what I want from Maxim Sinclair."
Old Master Huxley raised his eyes slightly, appraising his expression through his reading glasses, and after a while, asked, "Explain in detail."
Justin Huxley took out his phone from his jacket pocket, tapped it twice, and handed it to Old Master Huxley, "Take a look at this plan."
Old Master Huxley looked at the screen, then glanced at him, put down the teacup, put on his reading glasses, and began to diligently examine the phone content.
He took a good ten minutes to do so. Meanwhile, Justin Huxley patiently called over a passing maid and asked her to bring a cup of coffee.
When Justin Huxley was halfway through his coffee, Old Master Huxley finally finished reading the phone content. He returned the phone to Justin Huxley and concluded, "Your plan is bold, reminiscent of my style back in the day. Go ahead with your plan, and if you need Grandpa’s help, just say so."
Seeing his agreement, Justin Huxley’s worried heart settled: "I have scheduled the engagement ceremony for this Sunday, six days away. Grandpa, will you be attending?"
"Since you’ve said so, naturally, I must grace the occasion." Old Master Huxley pointed at the chessboard, "First, play a game with this old man."
July 13th, bright and sunny.
Assistant Collins hurried to Varden Villa early in the morning, and the butler opened the door for him personally, "Mr. Cheney, why so early?"
Assistant Collins looked up at the second-story main bedroom’s window, saw its curtains already drawn, and turned to ask the butler, "President Sinclair must’ve been up for a while, right?"
The butler nodded, "Yes, he was up early, was at the gym for over an hour, and a few minutes ago went for a shower, all sweaty."
Assistant Collins mused over the destination of today’s visit, feeling wistful.
The butler also guessed something significant might occur today, but dared not ask much, ambiguously probing Assistant Collins, "Is it some important business negotiation? Haven’t seen you this tense in a long time."
"If it were business, that’d be straightforward." Assistant Collins shook his head wistfully, "I mentioned yesterday, did you remember?"
The butler nodded, "I remembered, we specifically had the kitchen prepare good soup overnight. But looking at the young master’s face today, he doesn’t seem very happy. Can you tell me what’s going on exactly?"
Few can remain calm attending the engagement party of a woman they like, especially when she was taken away.
Assistant Collins shook his head, with a mysterious expression, "No use diving deep into details, just have the kitchen prepare breakfast. I’ll go find President Sinclair."
Assistant Collins had just entered the living room when he encountered Maxim Sinclair coming downstairs after his shower, wrapped in a bathrobe.
Maxim Sinclair, seeing him arrive, gestured, "You’re right on time, we’re visiting the Huxley Family today; no need to bring gifts."
"But...you mentioned..."
Assistant Collins glanced at the set of wine glasses he had carefully selected in his hands, somewhat at a loss for words.
