Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 86: Venus’s Banquet
Noah sat comfortably in the back seat, turning his head to look at Summer Lowell, who was obviously a bit nervous on his left side: "Why do I feel like you’re a bit anxious today?"
Summer Lowell awkwardly smiled: "I am a bit nervous, after all, I’ve always wanted to meet Ms. Venus. Now that there’s a chance, I’m afraid I’ll somehow make a mistake, which might affect future developments."
"Be confident," Noah picked up a bottle of water, gently twisted it open, and then handed it to Summer Lowell, "With your abilities, you don’t need to worry about such issues at all."
As they spoke, the car had already arrived at its destination.
Noah got out of the car and said to Summer Lowell, who was ready on the other side, "Hold your aloof artistic stance, don’t let them underestimate you."
Summer Lowell took a deep breath, quickly adjusted her state, and then followed Noah into the manor.
From a terrace on the second floor not far away, Tina Huxley coldly watched Summer Lowell’s slender figure disappear, and the jealousy in her eyes overflowed uncontrollably.
"Tina?"
A woman’s voice came from behind, and Tina Huxley turned her head to look, then greeted the person with a bright smile: "Yara, you’re here too?"
The girl addressed as Yara lifted the hem of her dress and walked over to Tina Huxley in small, quick steps, "There’s nothing much to do at home, so I came over to join in the fun."
Tina Huxley smiled faintly at the words, using the excuse of taking a sip of her drink to mask the fleeting sneer in her eyes.
If she guessed correctly, the purpose of this person attending the event was probably similar to her own.
There was a rumor that the reason Venus was hosting this event was because Maxim Sinclair had given her a very rare antique necklace.
According to the rumors, that antique necklace was once the most cherished possession of a medieval queen, and after being lost during wartime, it changed hands several times.
It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that it resurfaced and was eventually auctioned off at a grand event, where Maxim Sinclair acquired it.
This time, Maxim Sinclair gave the necklace to Ms. Venus, who then used the opportunity to host a two-day event.
This easily led people to believe that Maxim Sinclair might also attend this event.
Tina Huxley was smiling and making small talk with Yara when the conversation of two nearby women drifted over naturally with the wind.
"Are you sure Maxim Sinclair will attend this event? I looked around several times but didn’t see anyone from the Sinclair Group!"
"It’s two days long, what’s the rush? It’s only the first afternoon; he might show up later tonight."
"I think it’s unlikely. You should know he usually only attends serious business events; he probably wouldn’t come to something purely recreational like this."
"Ah, what a pity."
Tina Huxley swirled the wine in her hand, pondering in her heart, unsure if Maxim Sinclair would actually attend this event.
Before long, the two women who were speaking had walked off into the distance.
Yara, who was also standing on the terrace, surreptitiously observed Tina Huxley for a moment before smiling brightly, "Tina, do you think Maxim will come today?"
Tina Huxley looked up at her, with an expression that was half-smiling and half-not.
Calling him Maxim so familiarly, people who don’t know might think you’re really close to him!
Seeing no response, Yara waved her hand in front of Tina’s eyes, "Tina?"
Tina Huxley quickly dodged her hand, stepping back a few steps, speaking with dissatisfaction, "You almost hit me!"
Yara paused, toning down her smile a bit, and said mildly, "Sorry, I saw you were lost in thought and didn’t mean to hit you, did I?"
Tina Huxley, who had no interest in discussing Maxim Sinclair with her, pretended not to hear Yara’s words and pressed the corner of her eye: "My eyes feel a bit uncomfortable, I’m going to the restroom to handle it for a bit, we can talk later."
After speaking, she turned and left the terrace.
Watching Tina’s figure disappear into the distance, Yara snorted coldly, rolling her eyes unattractively, "Still acting like the future mistress of the Sinclair family even before anything’s settled, who cares?"
Meanwhile, Summer Lowell followed behind Noah to the garden.
At the center of the garden, a group of people were gathered around Ms. Venus, engaged in lively conversation.
Across a small path, Noah glanced down at Summer Lowell, concerned: "Not nervous anymore, right?"
Summer Lowell returned with a smile: "Don’t worry, I can handle it. I was a bit nervous at first, but I’m fine now."
"That’s good."
Noah nodded reassuringly and then led Summer Lowell to Ms. Venus.
Upon a reminder from someone beside her, Ms. Venus recognized Noah and smiled as she greeted him.
Not expecting to be greeted first by her, Noah suppressed his surprise and walked over with an easy demeanor, introducing Summer Lowell while he was at it.
Ms. Venus, who had already taken notice of Summer Lowell, gave a faint smile: "Director Lowell, welcome to my party."
Summer Lowell immediately returned with a smile.
"Ms. Venus, I’m delighted to meet you."
Because many people were there to greet Ms. Venus at that moment, Noah and Summer Lowell were quickly pushed aside after exchanging only a few words.
Looking at the current situation, Noah thought for a moment, and took Summer Lowell around the crowd to the other side.
Once they reached a quieter place, Summer Lowell took the opportunity to shake out her sore ankle, teasing Noah with a laugh in her voice: "There were so many people just now, it was a good chance to network, how could President Norris bear to leave?"
"There were too many people, and Ms. Venus doesn’t like noise; if I forced my way in, it would only annoy her."
Noah loosened his tie, exhaling a breath: "As expected of the famous Ms. Venus in the jewelry world! So many people came to support her."
Summer Lowell glanced back at the bustling center of the garden, "Honestly, hosting an event just for a necklace is something I really can’t understand."
Noah mysteriously glanced around and lowered his voice, "The real focus this time isn’t the necklace. There are rumors that Ms. Venus intends to organize an exhibition, and this event seems to be for selecting designers to collaborate with."
"An exhibition?" Summer Lowell became interested and leaned in to ask, "Really? Why didn’t you mention this before?"
"I only found out this morning; I can’t help it, among the people I know, very few have connections with Ms. Venus, so I couldn’t get the first-hand news in time."
"Does the exhibition you mentioned have to do with jewelry design?"
"Of course it does, Ms. Venus herself is a renowned international jewelry designer. As for what exactly the exhibition will entail, I’m not sure, but it definitely relates to jewelry design."
Noah shook his head, expressing his regret at not knowing more.
Summer Lowell touched the stone wall nearby, musing aloud, "But I still feel something is off. If it were really about selecting designers for an exhibition, she should have planned it meticulously, not suddenly sent out invitations like this; it’s too rushed, isn’t it?"
