Chapter 66: 066: Who Did You Say Wasn’t Good Quality? (3 more)
Lai Yang didn’t see Ning Guiwan in the restroom. She wanted to make a call but realized her phone was locked in the locker from when she’d changed clothes, so she decided to go back to the changing room to get it.
As she turned the corner at the restroom entrance, she bumped right into He Zhenmiao.
He Zhenmiao immediately grabbed her. Lai Yang was startled. "Are you insane? Let go of me!"
But He Zhenmiao didn’t let go; instead, he leaned in to kiss her.
"You’re crazy!" Lai Yang was both scared and furious.
This is a public place! How could he dare?
She pushed at his chin with both hands, trying to keep him away, and shouted, "Let go of me! If you don’t, I’ll tell my second cousin once removed, and you’ll be sorry!"
The difference in strength between them was too great; He Zhenmiao quickly overpowered her hands.
He Zhenmiao pinned her against the wall, his voice menacing. "Second cousin once removed? Your first cousin once removed is my uncle—my father’s sister is married to him! I’d like to see what your precious second cousin once removed can do to me!"
With that, he leaned in to kiss her again.
Terrified, Lai Yang screamed for help and struggled desperately to get away, but his lips still brushed against her skin, disgusting her to her core.
Just as tears welled up in her eyes, the lecherous mouth vanished, and the hand gripping her wrist loosened.
Before Lai Yang could understand what had happened, a deep, resonant male voice sounded in her ears. "Forcing yourself on a young woman in public is hardly the act of a gentleman."
He Zhenmiao’s wrist was seized, and he grimaced in pain, yet his arrogance didn’t falter. "Mind your own business! I was just being affectionate with my girlfriend. What’s it to you?"
"Girlfriend?" The deep voice was tinged with skepticism.
Lai Yang had already opened her eyes and was staring in a daze at the man who had suddenly appeared.
He wore a tailored Mandarin jacket, entirely black, its cuffs embroidered with a silver motif of a soaring dragon amidst auspicious clouds. As Lai Yang looked up, her gaze fell upon the man’s exposed Adam’s apple above his standing collar, and his strong, defined jawline.
Even from just this, it was clear the man was exceptionally handsome.
Her gaze slowly traveled upward.
She wasn’t disappointed. His eyes were as bright as stars, and the faint vertical lines between his eyebrows lent him an air of stern righteousness.
"Do you know this person?" the deep voice asked again, clearly addressing Lai Yang.
Lai Yang jolted back to reality. Flustered, her cheeks burning and her tongue feeling a little tied, she stammered, "I... I don’t know him! He’s a pervert..."
"In that case, let’s call the police."

After Quan Yu had spoken—"Can you afford it?"—he stood up. His gaze rested lightly on Ning Guiwan’s silent face before he added, "Think it over carefully and give me your answer."
Ning Guiwan didn’t look at him, not even once, until his figure disappeared from sight.
Quan Yu hadn’t used overt aggression to pressure her, yet it felt as though he had her by the throat. frёewebηovel.cѳm
It seems I have no other choice but to comply.
This feeling is truly awful.
She sat there for a while longer. Suddenly, the wail of police sirens cut through the air, and only then did Ning Guiwan remember Lai Yang.
Having learned from the coach that Lai Yang had gone to the restroom, Ning Guiwan headed towards the service building. A police car was parked at the entrance. Before Ning Guiwan even got close, she saw police officers escorting a young man out, followed by a dejected-looking Lai Yang.
Ning Guiwan hurried forward. "Lai Yang!"
She recognized He Zhenmiao and, a sense of unease prickling her, frowned. "What happened?"
"He harassed me!" Lai Yang exclaimed, her eyes sparkling and cheeks flushed. She didn’t look like someone who had been harassed at all; rather, she looked like she was in love.
The incident had already alerted the club manager and drawn a crowd of onlookers, so Ning Guiwan couldn’t ask many questions. She simply followed them to the police station.
He Zhenmiao’s mother, Ming Zhen, arrived quickly. Since Lai Yang had suffered no substantial harm, the police suggested they settle the matter privately.
Lai Yang was, of course, unwilling.
He kissed my face multiple times, and I still feel sick about it! Just locking He Zhenmiao up for a few days won’t be enough to quell my anger!
"So, what is it you want?" Ming Zhen demanded. She had received a call saying her son was arrested for indecent assault and had arrived already furious. Seeing Ning Guiwan there only amplified her irritation.
Ming Zhen knew that Ning Guiwan had once been close to Quan Xiangru.
I despise Quan Xiangru, that illegitimate whelp, and I despise Ning Guiwan just as much, even if she’s not involved with him anymore. Just looking at her reminds me of that vile bastard child!
Ming Zhen raked Lai Yang up and down with her eyes. Lai Yang had changed back into her own clothes; she was stylishly and exquisitely dressed, with fair skin and beautiful features. Ming Zhen’s eyes narrowed with disdain. "If you hadn’t dressed like a little temptress and paraded yourself in front of my son, trying to seduce him, would he have dared to touch you in front of so many people?"
As she spoke, she shot a contemptuous glance at Ning Guiwan. "Birds of a feather flock together. Neither of you is any good!"
Before her words fully faded—
THUD!
A dull impact sounded from the doorway.
Everyone jumped, startled, and spun around to look.
Ning Guiwan was somewhat surprised to see Quan Yu there.
"Oh my gosh!" Lai Yang yelped, ducking behind Ning Guiwan and whispering, "Why is my second cousin once removed here?"
Quan Yu, dressed in a black shirt and black trousers with his left hand in his pocket, walked in, his expression unreadable. His assistant and bodyguard followed.
The station officer, though not recognizing Quan Yu immediately, was visibly intimidated by his aura and instinctively felt the urge to offer him tea or water.
After hastily pulling up a chair for him, the officer finally managed to ask, "Sir, may I ask..."
Quan Yu didn’t even glance at him. His dark, somber gaze fixed on Ming Zhen’s face. His voice was slow, yet it carried an indescribable weight of oppression. "Who did you just say was no good?"
