Chapter 80: 080: Like that woman! (2 more)

Dragging her suitcase out of the room, Ning Qinghan stood by the stair railing, watching her.

In her hand was a glass cup, more than half-filled with a dark, murky liquid.

As Ning Guiwan approached, Ning Qinghan stepped forward to block her path, her pale face showing a smug expression. "Being kicked out twice must feel terrible, right?"

Ning Guiwan looked over, her eyes devoid of emotion.

She wore a two-piece skirt suit, black and sleeveless. The top was slightly short, faintly revealing a section of her svelte waist.

Fair-skinned and red-lipped, she was exquisitely charming.

Her expression was indifferent, as if she were watching a trivial jester.

Ning Qinghan especially hated this demeanor of hers. Clearly, her reputation was in tatters, and she should have been keeping a low profile, yet she insisted on putting on such a high and mighty act.

An idea sparked in her mind. Before she could even think it through clearly, her hands had already acted.

The dark liquid in the glass cup was thrown entirely at Ning Guiwan.

Ning Guiwan, however, seemed to have anticipated it and raised her hand to block.

Her block was quite forceful. The liquid splashed to one side, and the cup slipped from Ning Qinghan’s grasp. It shattered on the floor, and the pungent smell of herbal medicine filled the air.

"Stop playing these pointless games," Ning Guiwan said, her beautiful eyes flashing coldly.

Ning Qinghan clutched her aching wrist, glaring at her viciously. "Ning Guiwan, just you wait! One day, I’ll avenge my child!"

Ning Guiwan stared at her hate-filled face for a few seconds, then steadied her suitcase, let go of the handle, and slowly walked towards Ning Qinghan.

Her seemingly nonchalant demeanor made Ning Qinghan involuntarily retreat. "What are you trying to do?"

Her voice actually betrayed fear.

"Someone... come..."

She couldn’t finish her sentence. Ning Guiwan grabbed her neck and pressed her against the nearby railing, her upper body hanging in the air. Ning Qinghan caught a glimpse of the spiraling staircase railing below and was terrified.

She clutched the railing tightly with both hands, struggling, yet not daring to struggle too vigorously. "Don’t mess around! You’re no longer part of the Ning Family. If you hurt me again, Dad won’t let you off easily!"

Ning Guiwan tightened her fingers, looking down at her coldly.

"So certain it was I who harmed your child?"

Ning Qinghan was suffocating, her face flushed bright red as she gasped for breath. "You still deny it..." she said sporadically. "Someone saw you switch my medicine... it was you..."

Years ago, she was young. It wasn’t until symptoms of a miscarriage appeared that she even realized she was pregnant. During the period when her marriage was being discussed, she had been taking medication to prevent a miscarriage.

Everything had been fine, but it was Ning Guiwan who switched her medication.

"Someone saw it with their own eyes?" Ning Guiwan laughed, her smile bright yet sarcastic. She loosened her grip and stood up straight. "Then why didn’t she warn you not to take the medicine, instead of waiting until after your child was gone to run out and point fingers at me?"

Ning Qinghan was stunned for a moment, then fury surged. "What are you insinuating? Are you saying I staged the whole thing to frame you? Ning Guiwan, how can you be so vicious?"

Ning Guiwan didn’t want to entangle herself further and walked towards her suitcase. "If your brain isn’t working well, you should take more medicine."

"You!" Ning Qinghan’s face went pale with fury.

She lifted her foot as if to rush forward, but in the next instant, she stopped.

The lingering fear of being choked gripped her. In that moment, she truly thought Ning Guiwan was about to push her over the railing or strangle her. Indeed, what a cruel-minded woman.

...

A white Bentley drove out of the Ning Mansion. Ning Guiwan made a phone call to Ren Xiaofei.

She asked just one question, received an answer, and then hung up.

After being stuck in traffic for over an hour, Ning Guiwan drove her car into the parking lot of a private hospital. Once parked, she followed Ren Xiaofei’s directions and walked to the door of a hospital room.

"Dad, have some food. I’ll contact Manager Li again..."

"I can’t eat. Just leave it there."

"The doctor said you fainted because of stress. You shouldn’t worry about anything. Even if Tianchi is gone, as long as our family is together and happy, that’s what matters most. Dad, your health is the most important thing..."

The scene in the hospital room was one of a loving father and a filial daughter.

Ning Guiwan stood for a while, then turned around.

...

Ning Honghua’s spirits were very low.

He had never imagined that one day Tianchi Group would be ruined by his own hands. These past few days, he kept dreaming. He dreamed of his deceased father-in-law, and even of Chi Tingshuang. He dreamed of her looking at him with disappointment and indifference, without saying a word. She had been just like that on the day she confirmed with him that Rongyue and Qinghan were his children with Yun Shu. She had stared at him for a full half hour. Not a single tear fell, not a hint of sadness was shown. She had simply turned around, packed all her things, and left—so decisively it made him furious and frantic. Had she really stopped loving him long ago? Or perhaps, she had never loved him at all.

...

For the past two days, Ning Rongyue had tried everything but still couldn’t meet the head of the Ruiyin Investment Department.

The lawsuit in the United States was being hurriedly prepared. Tianchi could actually settle with a sum of money, as the purpose of the lawsuit there was also financial. However, the collapse incident had already cut off Tianchi’s cash flow.

All they could do was wait for other businesses to invest.

That day, Ning Honghua was discharged from the hospital.

Passing by Ning Guiwan’s room, he noticed it was empty; even the bedding on the bed had been cleared away.

"What happened?" he asked, a hint of anger in his voice.

The servant said, "Miss Third came back two days ago and took all her things. Miss Second asked us to clear out the room..."

"COUGH, COUGH..." Ning Honghua pressed his fist to his lips and coughed, so hard that the veins on his temples bulged.

Just like that woman! Just like that woman! She looks the same, her personality is the same—cold and heartless!
