Cosmic Paragon-Chapter 84: The Egg That Hatched A Troublemaker

It was only after a long time that he came up with an answer as to the reason for this phenomena.

It was all thanks to the fights he had been in!

Every time Drake got into a fight, he always put forth his full concentration into channeling and controlling the magic energy drawn from the seal, into his body whether for defending or attacks.

And with every second he spent trying to use his magic powers; he exerted his mind by trying to use more and more magic power from the constellations. Therefore, he had unconsciously been spreading his mental imprint over more and more of the stars of energy. And with more pressure his mind faced both from external and internal forces, his mental strength grew stronger and stronger by the second, thereby raising his mastery over the energy in his seal more and more.

Drake was elated at this.

He thought, ’Doesn’t this also meant that the more I fight the more I gain mastery over my energy control? This is perfect! At least now I don’t need to spend all my time stuck in boredom trying to master control over my energy.’ Drake was very happy with this realization.

Suddenly, Drake no longer felt like staying to cultivate in his room. He wanted to go out and get into a fight against somebody.

But then he felt frustrated, the best target to fight against was Edward since he currently had some beef left to settle with him. The only problem was he had no idea where that idiot would be. And the person whose power was on that same level Carlos was stuck in training with Commander Seth so he was out of the question.

Drake could only sigh in disappointment and just got back to training the old fashion way.

After a few hours he couldn’t take it any more and left his room to go get something to eat. However, just as he was a few steps away from the dorm, he suddenly received a notification alert on his student armband.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

’Drake Black, your presence is required. Please report to the Sky tower immediately!’

The notification repeated three times which was regular protocol for all notifications by the academy, but Drake was a bit surprised that he would be receiving summons.

Drake raised an eyebrow,

’Another notification?’ he mumbled. ’This is supposed to be my free day, but I’ve received two notifications already today. And this one is to the Sky tower of all places.’

Drake was a puzzled and was starting to think that the reason there was a free day was so that the academy could summon anyone on that day without having to worry about interrupting someones classes.

It should be known that under normal condition students don’t enter Sky tower for any reason whatsoever. And only important staff of the academy can go there to attend to special business, otherwise nobody would go there for a stroll. This meant that whoever it was that was summoning Drake to the Sky tower must be important and it must be for some serious matter.

Drake soon arrived at the large Square in front of the tall sky piercing structure, and when he arrived at the large double doors that led into Sky tower the doors slid open automatically.

Hello and Welcome to Sky tower!

A voice sounded and a hologram of a beautiful lady appeared before Drake startling him.

Please identify yourself and state your business. She bowed lightly and requested.

Drake immediately understood that this was probably the AI in charge of the security of the Alpha tower.

He called out, "I’m Drake Black. I received a notification that requested my presence at Sky tower. I’m here to report."

A light flashed in her eyes. At the same time Drake’s armband flashed as though responding and she nodded. Identity recognized Drake Black, 2 Star mage, student of the Elementary mage class.

She bowed lightly and said, Please follow me, Mr. Black! Your presence is required on the third floor.

The large doors slid open and she directly went in. Drake saw this and followed suit.

We will be going to the third floor. Please only follow me and do not venture off, otherwise you will be punished by the rules of Sky tower.She said as they walked.

Drake nodded and she added, If you have any questions, you may ask and I will answer them, as long as they do not touch on some specific information.

Drake followed her in he couldn’t help but marvel at how perfectly real this hologram looked. It was like there was a real person in front of him.

He was feeling a bit bored and thought the walk to their destination might take a while so he thought to make some small talk.

Excuse me Luv, What can I call you? there was a chance that she really was just an AI, but Drake didn’t mind calling her Luv.

And if she turned out to not be AI, then at least Luv sounded more intimate than calling her ma’am.

When the lady heard him calling her like that, she was a bit intrigued.

Usually, the other people that came to Sky tower would treat her like she was just some attendant and so they did not care for her name. They would not even ask so she was surprised that Drake actually did.

This made her feel good. That at least somebody thought of her as a person and cared about her feelings.

You can call me Cassie. She smiled at him.

The smile caught Drake a bit off guard, it had real emotion behind it, Okay Cassie, Are you the AI of the Sky tower? said Drake not letting his surprise show.

Responding to your inquiry, Mr. Black. No, I am not an AI. I’m a Telepath series mage.

A Telepath on this level, you’re a Technocrat?

I am a six star mage, so yes I’m a Technocrat. she nodded.

Drake gasped in shock and asked You are a six star Mage, and you end up as a receptionist in Sky tower?

If it were before he became a mage what she had just said would not mean very much to him. But as a mage he understood just how powerful she was as a six star mage.

A Six Star Telepath should be capable of picking through his Brains as she wished or she could outright blow out his consciousness like a candle’s flame going out. Yet, it was this powerful Six Star Mage that was serving as an attendant in Sky tower.

Cassie felt better when he called her a receptionist, at least to her that was better than being called an attendant or a servant.

Well, Mr. Black. She started but Drake cut her off.

Please, it’s okay if you just call me Drake. It might be part of your job, but I don’t really like those honorifics. They make me feel old. And I’ll feel even worse if a pretty lady is the one addressing me like that. I wouldn’t feel so bad if it were a man calling me that though, since I want other men to respect me.

He thought, ’So what if you are a six star mage? You’re still a woman in front of me. You might be powerful but you don’t scare me.’

Cassie caught the complement and chuckled, Haha, alright Drake it is then.

Drake nodded, Mn that sounds much better. So tell me Luv, how did you end up in a place like this?

Well Drake, as I already mentioned I’m a six star Telepath mage, also known as a Technocrat. And while there are indeed AI in Sky tower, as Technocrats we are the very best when it comes to operating technology.

Ah, so Sky tower charged the best with taking care of their systems and tech stuff. Nice! Drake praised.

Cassie was happily accepted the comment.

The two talked as they walked, and Drake would drop a joke or two every once in a while eliciting some laughter from Cassie, which gave him a sense of accomplishment. While she wasn’t as pretty as His girls every woman had a kind of beauty when there was a sincere smile on her face.

They soon arrived at their destination and Cassie left Drake happily, but not before leaving her contact details for him.

In Drake’s mind he blew off the white smoke on his index finger like he was in Wild Wild West.

’I still got it!’

He chuckled then walked into the office she had pointed for him.

He knocked on the door and it slid open after he waited a few seconds then he walked in and it closed behind him.
