Braelyn’s POV

My heart slammed against my ribs. "And when I catch you. I will make you cry." That wasn’t a threat but a promise.

I didn’t register the danger in his words yet. The smile fell from his face, and a dark look appeared that sent chills. He wasn’t joking

He straightened just enough to reach between us and unbuckled his belt with deliberate slowness. The metallic clink echoed in the quiet night. Leather slid free. He wrapped it loosely around his hand like a promise.

"Or," he continued, eyes never leaving mine, "I will have to punish you right here," he said, the cold mental roam over my skin. Chill ran over my bare skin between my thighs. His words turned husky. "You are not wet enough to handle the punishment, you’d better run Viper. "

The words landed like gasoline on fire.

Panic and thrill collided inside me. My nipples throbbed with every heartbeat, painfully erect hot against my bra cups and begging for attention. My core pulsed hot and wet, excitement flooding me so intensely I could feel fresh slickness seeping down my inner thighs.

If I wasn’t wet earlier I was definitely wet now but I knew I had better run. His words should have horrified me, Instead, the threat only made my folds clench harder around nothing, desperate and aching. His fingers started unbuttoning his shirt as he started counting.

"Someone might see us.." I managed to force out the words before he said ten. Lucien gave me a faint smirk. "The waiter was the last person and he is already gone.." he drawled as his eyes gleamed

"Ten." I counted

I scrambled off the table falling on the ground not caring about my appearance.

My legs were jelly and weak from the way he had unravelled me, but instinct screamed louder than reason. I shoved off the floor and nearly stumbled back. I kicked off my heels as they were liabilities.

Barefoot against the concrete floor, I bolted for the doors that led off the rooftop.

"Nine." His voice boomed behind me as my mind screamed and my heart roared.

Run little Viper. Damn, I was terrified but beneath it, I was more than excited. So excited it went down my panties. When did I turn so sick that being chased by a man made me feel alive in a sickening sweet way?

All that didn’t matter, only one thing did getting as far as I couldn’t let him find me easily

I yanked the handle, heart in my throat, and burst through into the dimly lit stairwell of his villa. The cool marble under my feet shocked my overheated skin.

"Eight."

I flew down the stairs, one hand gripping the railing so I would not fall. My dress rode up my thighs with every frantic step. My hair flew wild. My breath came in sharp pants. Fear and exhilaration twisted together until I could not tell them apart. My nipples scraped against the fabric with every bounce, sending fresh sparks to my already drenched core.

"Seven."

The villa was massive and unfamiliar. Hallways branched off like a maze. I did not know where I was going, only that I had to move.

"Six."

I turned a corner. My bare feet slapped against the cold tile. My pulse roared in my ears. My body was still humming from his touch. My nipples ached fiercely. My core clenched with every step, excitement building to something else.

"Five."

I reached the bottom of the stairs and hesitated for half a second. Left or right? I veered toward what looked like the main foyer.

"Four."

His voice echoed down from above, calm and predatory with a hint of amusement.

"Three."

I sprinted across the open space, lungs burning, toward the double doors that led outside. Moonlight spilt through the tall windows, turning everything silver and surreal.

"Two."

My hand closed around the handle. I tried to yank it open but it was locked. My face went pale. I could hear his voice from above. He was still on the roof counting

My head snapped and I immediately bolted for the back door. I sprinted in the opposite direction towards the kitchen where the back door was located.

"One..." his voice boomed. "I hope you hid well." Then the sound of the door being yanked open and his thunderous footsteps echoing down the stairs rang through the walls of the empty villa

I reached the back door and yanked it open. It wasn’t locked. The cold night air brushed against my skin as I sprinted towards the nearby trees. Lucien’s place had a lake behind that glittered under the night surrounded by trees.

I ran towards the trees around the edge of the lake. The sky rumbled at the same time the back door behind me flew open. I didn’t need to look behind to know he was behind me.

My goal was to hide behind the woods but I overestimated my speed. Lucien moved like a predator and it didn’t take long for him to be hot on my tail.

He tried to reach me but I avoided his hold forgetting I was close to the lake. I fell but I didn’t scream as I fell into the lake

Lucien laughed. "Had no idea you were such a sprinter Viper." He chuckled before he dove after me but I could not care about whatever he said. I stayed underneath the water holding my breath as I swam. It was dark with faint moonlight infiltrating the darkness.

I was once on my school swimming team so holding my breath for long was child’s play. I felt movements around me I didn’t know where. A sudden chill shot behind me and a figure suddenly appeared before me

I was so scared I swam back to the surface. As soon as my head broke the surface to gasp for air, an arm wrapped around my waist and I was slammed against lucien bare chest at some point he took off his shirt

My entire body shook. He leaned toward my ear to whisper.." Caught you Viper.." My entire body shuddered
