Creating A Succubus Army In A Fantasy World!-Chapter 13: Easy Money!
Chapter 13: Easy Money!
Creed and Lilith moved through the ruined streets, their feet light, their breathing controlled.
The scream had come from somewhere nearby, but they had to be careful.
Dimensional beasts lurked in the shadows, drawn to any sound, movement, or even the scent of human flesh.
If they weren't cautious, they might end up running into something far worse than whatever was attacking the poor soul screaming for help.
One wrong move and they could end up dead instead of playing heroes.
But let's be real...
Creed wasn't a hero.
Far from it.
Some people were born with the natural instinct to throw themselves into danger for the sake of others. They saw someone in trouble, and their first thought was, 'I have to help them!'
Creed was not that kind of person. He had never been that kind of person.
If someone was being chased by a monster, his first thought was, 'Sucks to be them.'
If someone was getting beaten up in a dark alley, he'd think, 'They should've been stronger or more careful.'
It wasn't because he was cruel. It wasn't because he hated people. It was because he valued his own life too much.
Being a hero was for fools.
It was the fastest way to get yourself eaten, stabbed, burned, or blasted to pieces. And Creed had no intention of dying young.
So why was he sprinting toward danger like some selfless warrior of justice?
Simple.
Money.
His biggest problem right now was money.
If he could save this person and get handsomely rewarded, then it would be worth it.
A debt of gratitude was one of the easiest ways to make someone pay up. And if the person screaming for help was rich?
Even better.
The richer they were, the easier it would be to shake them down.
And Creed wasn't about to pass up an opportunity like that.
They arrived at the scene.
Creed ducked down behind a half destroyed building, his sharp eyes scanning the area.
And then he saw her.
A young girl, maybe fifteen, standing her ground in the middle of an open street.
Her long, flowing blue hair whipped through the air as she fired sharp, fast-moving arrows from the bow in her hands, each one crashing against the thick fur of a Stage 1 Shaggy Wolf.
The wolf was massive, even larger than the one Creed had killed earlier. Its thick, matted fur bristled as it snarled, completely unfazed by the girl's attacks.
Creed's eyes flickered across the battlefield.
The ground was littered with arrows, some of them snapped in half, others buried deep into the ruined pavement.
A few arrows had managed to pierce the wolf's thick coat, but they were barely doing anything to slow it down.
She wasn't completely helpless. She had obviously been fighting back for a while.
But the wolf was cornering her.
And while her shiny blue armor had protected her from serious injuries, Creed could see small cuts and bruises on her arms.
Her breathing was heavy. She was running out of time and stamina.
Creed's lips curled into a smirk. He had seen enough. Everything about this girl screamed rich and spoiled.
First of all...
Her armor alone was worth a fortune. That kind of high quality gear wasn't something just anyone could afford.
It was at least Quasi Stage 2!
It had to be made of quality, expensive materials, which meant she either came from a wealthy family or had a ridiculously powerful background.
Second—
She was out here alone.
No backup. No guards. Just her, her fancy blue armor, and a bunch of arrows scattered everywhere.
There was only one explanation...
She was one of those arrogant rich young masters who thought too highly of themselves.
She probably assumed that because she had strong equipment and powerful skills, she could waltz into the ruins, kill some monsters, and go home bragging about how amazing she was.
And now?
She was learning the hard way that real battles weren't so simple.
Jackpot.
He could also be wrong, but he was almost sure of his guess.
Before Creed could even react, the girl's eyes locked onto him.
"Help me! Please!" she cried.
Creed wordlessly raised his right hand.
Five fingers.
The girl blinked, confused at first. Then...
Realization dawned on her face. Her lips trembled. But then she nodded desperately.
"Yes! I'll give you what you want! Just help me!"
Creed's smirk widened. 'This might be the easiest money I've ever made.'
Without hesitation, he and Lilith launched themselves at the wolf.
The wolf's ears twitched.
It whirled around, instantly sensing the new threat.
Too bad.
By the time it reacted, Lilith was already there!
A bolt of purple lightning streaked across the battlefield, moving so fast it left a trail of crackling sparks in the air.
Before the wolf could even blink—
BOOM!
Lilith slammed into its side, sending shockwaves through its massive body.
The wolf staggered, its thick fur absorbing some of the damage, but Lilith didn't give it time to recover.
She pounced again!
The wolf snarled and twisted, its fangs bared as it swiped at her throat.
Creed intercepted!
His spear shot forward, forcing the wolf to twist its body to dodge, but in doing so it unknowingly exposed its left flank.
Lilith's fist smashed into its ribs.
CRACK!
A sickening snap echoed as bones shattered.
The wolf howled in pain!
It lunged blindly at Lilith, but she vanished in a flash of lightning.
It was disoriented and that was all Creed needed. With a final burst of speed, he surged forward—
"Take my thrust!"
His spear pierced straight through its throat!
The wolf choked. Its body shuddered. Then it collapsed.
Creed exhaled heavily, his muscles burning from exhaustion. Lilith wobbled slightly beside him, her breathing uneven.
That had been tough. Not because the wolf was too strong, but because they were already exhausted from fighting so much today.
Still, it was done.
Creed turned toward the girl. She was staring at them, wide-eyed.
"Are you hurt?" Creed asked, already knowing the answer.
She shook her head.
"Good," he said.
Then he stretched out his hand. The same way he had before.

Earlier, when he raised five fingers, he hadn't just asked for payment. He had directly communicated with her.
Five thousand credits. That was the price for saving her life.
The girl's face turned red. And in a small, hesitant voice, she said—
"Umm... I actually... don't have any money right now..."
Creed's smile froze.
...What?
