Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 231 - 206: Fierce Yet Perfunctory Battle (Part 2)
The battle was extraordinarily brutal.
The Biochemical Beasts, under the control of the Wizards, fearlessly used biting, charging, self-detonation, and all means to madly deplete the enemy numbers.
However, the Magma Giant Legion, relying on their overwhelming individual power and a number so exaggerated it was despairing, continued to advance steadily!
Continuously, Magma Giants broke through the swiftly collapsing defense line of the Biochemical Beasts, approaching the defensive nodes where the Wizards were, with an aura to burn everything!
"Prepare for battle!"
The commander of the node issued the final order.
Jeming’s eyes narrowed; he knew the cannon fodder had fulfilled their mission, and now it was time for the Wizards to personally take the field!
Just as an elite Magma Giant over thirty meters tall, wielding a massive Magma War Axe, broke through the line, roaring towards the node where Jeming was...
Jeming unleashed his "Great Light Appearance"!
Buzz!
A gigantic Light Wheel, constructed from thousands of precise Talisman Witchcraft, unfolded behind him.
The fully operated Light Wheel was like a miniature sun, emitting a dazzling light that none dared to look directly at!
Vast amounts of Energy, under Jeming’s Spiritual Power guide, crazily surged into every node of the Great Light Appearance!
"Die!"
Killing intent boiled in Jeming’s eyes as he pointed forward!
In an instant, torrents of dense Energy Bullets shot out from the "Great Light Appearance" like a bursting star river.
Every Energy Bullet precisely locked onto those Magma Giants daring to approach the node!
Shoosh, shoosh, shoosh, shoosh, shoosh!!!
The piercing sound of air being torn was uninterrupted!
The elite Magma Giant at the front, without even having time to swing its War Axe, was instantly pierced by hundreds of Energy Bullets.
Its solid rocky body, like cheese hit by bullets, was instantly riddled with holes.
Then, under the internal Energy Blast, with a "boom," it exploded into a ground filled with rubble and lava.
Jeming’s firepower didn’t halt for a moment, as he, like an indefatigable war fortress, began to ferociously clear every Magma Giant daring to approach his defensive zone.
Meanwhile, except for those Wizards who needed to focus on operating the node’s main cannon, all other Wizards simultaneously unleashed the powerful witchcraft they had long prepared.
Curses, acid rain, gravity fields, space cracks...
All kinds of tremendously powerful witchcraft erupted simultaneously along the defensive line!
In no time, the elements’ brilliance completely obscured the sky, turning the entire world into a magnificent war symphony composed of death and destruction!
The battle entered its most intense phase almost in the blink of an eye.
Even though Jeming seemed to be fighting joyfully, the Wizards were actually retreating step by step.
The supposedly indestructible defense line, in the face of the almost endless waves of Magma Giants, was compressed to a few hundred meters around the defensive node!
In merely moments, the layers of exhausted Biochemical Beast troops were completely submerged.
In the short time, countless Magma Giants, disregarding the deadly but insufficient Energy Cannons and Witchcraft attacks around the node, crossed the battlefield boundary and charged straight into the depth of the camp.
However, Jeming, located inside the third-layer defensive node, didn’t seem as excited as when the battle first started.
Instead, he appeared quite calm.
Though busy operating the Great Light Appearance to clear the enemies in front of him, his face showed no panic or tension.
After firing several precise Energy Bullets to knock down some Magma Giants attempting to bypass the Biochemical Beast line and climb the node’s Array,
Jeming even had the leisure to, during a brief lull, ask a Wizard next to him operating another Energy Cannon: "Can they be stopped, these giants rushing past?"
The Wizard, a seasoned Second Level Wizard, also wore an almost indifferent calm like Jeming.
While quickly adjusting the cannon’s angle, he helplessly shook his head, "How could it be?"
He paused, continuing, "Considering the node’s maximum safety as the ultimate priority, and maintaining the current range of the defense line, we can only clear part of the first wave’s impact at most."
He pointed at the giants charging from afar, "As for those bypassing from the flanks and rear... we can only let them pass."
"With node safety as the highest priority, the best we can do is to deplete the enemy’s forces as much as possible and ensure the node itself isn’t directly destroyed."
Other Wizards who heard Jeming’s conversation with the Second Level Wizard appeared exceptionally calm as well.
Their faces showed no fear or despair, only a focus on executing their tasks.
After all, each of them had received the most direct orders from the command center.
This mission was to "assist in the battle," not to "repel the enemy."
This meant that the initial order set the protection of the Wizards themselves and the node’s safety as the foremost and most crucial conditions.
As for those enemies bypassing the defense line... that was a higher-level strategic game, not something these frontline operators needed to concern themselves with.
Moreover, as time went on, Jeming also noticed the stranger aspects of this battle.
Although the battlefield was booming, with elemental lights and explosions one after another, as if a life-and-death decisive battle was ongoing.
