Cultivation Daddy-Chapter 106: Breakthrough (2)
As the battle dragged on, Yujian was forced to use almost all of his attack and defense talismans to use in an emergency. His opponent was relentless in attacking and every strike, each attack, every single attempt made Yujian unable to react properly and keep dodging until the last possible minute.
Every time Yujian successfully dodges, the dragon would rush toward him at a full speed and continue without a moment to rest.
He was hit more than once and his ribs ached. Blood spilled from Yujian’s side and the sharp pain of the bone being broken pierced through him and caused pain so severe that he almost cried out.
But that pain was insignificant compared to the fear that was eating him alive.
He felt like every time he got closer to death, he was pushed even closer to it.
At this rate, he wasn’t sure if he would make it back alive. There is no way he can win this fight. His vision started to fade as his blood got into his eyes and everything became blurry.
Outside, in the storage room, Li Jain stared intensely at the projected image above the formation.
He watched the talisman burning one after another, the torn robes and the Ghostscale Viper aggressive attacks on his precious little bun.
It was hard to watch. Li Jain first instinct was to forcefully pull Yujian out, but he stopped himself. He pressed his lips together and continued to watch.
He has his imprint on all of his children’s souls, so although the situation looks bad, it was life threatening.
Shiny on the other hand was no longer calm: "Enough! Tear the escape talisman and get out!"
Yujian didn’t respond. His vision was giving out and he couldn’t tell which of the talisman he was holding onto.
He held the two daggers in his hands and listened to his surroundings carefully, no matter what, he had to take this snake down with him.
Although he was afraid, Yujian believed that his father would come save him at a critical moment.
As the snake lunged, he also made his move. His blades drove into the snake neck, just beneath the thicker scales.
Not sure whether it was luck, he managed to hit the weak spot.
The snake screamed, its tail whipping wildly. It slammed into Yujian’s chest, throwing him backward. But Yujian was determined, he held onto the daggers without letting go.
Poison was pouring from the fangs, as blood gushed out of the snake, but he didn’t seem to care about it.
It knows it’ll die soon if it can’t get rid of the daggers.
Unfortunately for the snake, it underestimated Yujian. As it collapsed, it lunged one last time. It opens its mouth and bites onto Yujian’s arm.
It was too fast that Shiny didn’t get the chance to react and warned. The Ghostscale Viper fangs were embedded in Yujian’s forearm, and its venom entered his body.
This was how they ensured that their enemies wouldn’t survive. Only after the opponent’s life ended before they let go.
"How could this be?! Idiot! Idiot, wake up! Don’t you die now!" Shiny shrieked while shaking Yujian’s body, trying to wake him up.
It used its tail to open his eyes but his eyes closed immediately.
Shiny scales paled: "What do I do now?... What do I...?" It stopped midway as it noticed something wasn’t quite right with Yujian.
Then suddenly, its gaze changed into a look of horror...
"What the hell?! How could this be?!"
Although Yujian was unresponsive, he wasn’t dead. The venom that was entering his body was devoured and refined by him, turning it into pure spiritual energy.
The process of absorbing, refining and storing happens again and again, repeatedly.
Shiny couldn’t believe what was happening before its very eyes: "You’re absorbing the venom of a level 5 Ghostscale Viper?"
This brat is really a freak!
But then again, a poisonous bloodline that was able to trap such a deadly venomous beast as itself shouldn’t be normal either.
In spite of this fact, another shock hit it. The venom that was refined into spiritual energy was large, the body couldn’t contain it.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
lighting exploded aggressively within the secret realm. A huge surge of power burst inside his body. His cultivation started to rise quickly, and the amount of spiritual energy flowing through his body increased exponentially. He broke through three levels at once.
The dense spiritual energy in his dantian broke through the final barrier of Physical Body, and he stepped directly into Spiritual Sea Realm first level.
"So that’s how it is?" Liu Xiong looked at the screen in disbelief. He didn’t expect this result. The only explanation left is that Yujian’s bloodline is unusual.
Only after Yujian’s aura stabilized did Li Jain breathe a sigh of relief. Although he knew Yujian wouldn’t die, he was still worried. He stepped into the formation and entered the secret realm.
Li Jain appeared in the clearing where the battle had just taken place. The ground was torn apart. Many holes had been dug and blood scattered everywhere.
The Ghostscale Viper corpse lay in a twisted heap on the ground. Its scales have lost their luster and are now lifeless black. Its whole body seems to be withering away.
Shiny stiffened the moment Li Jain appeared, it immediately backed off: "You’re finally here."
Li Jain walked over and first examined Yujian carefully. The poison inside him was still circulating, but it was no longer a threat.
"Why didn’t you help him?" Li Jain asked without looking up.
"He told me to not interfere. I was only following orders." Shiny replied. It then glanced at Yujian who was lying unconscious on the ground. A smile formed on its face: "Your son is really great. I didn’t expect this outcome."
But Li Jian wasn’t amused by it: "He told you not to interfere but this was a life threatening situation. As his guardian beast, you should know when and how to act best." Li Jain turned and stared at it coldly: "Or were you hoping for him to die so you can take over his body?"
Shiny was stunned, then it paled : "No no no!! Don’t say such things...."
"Hmph!" Li Jain turned back to Yujian: "Don’t have any wishful thoughts. As long as I, ’Li Jain’ is around, you will never be able to escape. And if my son gets hurt like this again while you’re around, don’t blame me for being ruthless." Li Jain threatened.
"I understand..." Shiny said obediently, lowering its head.
Li Jain frowned as he look at the Ghostscale Viper, his fingers brushed the scales lightly.
The Ghostscale Viper was not a beast that naturally spawned in this kind of low level realm. When he’d inspected the place previously, there was no sign of such a creature.
For such a beast to appear here, then something was off. The possibility that someone may have let it in is very high.
Either the realm had been infiltrated from the outside, or a connection he had not noticed before was opened.
Both possibilities were dangerous. If the secret realm was open to the outside world, then he would have to take more precautions from now on. After all, his children’s lives are at risk.
Li Jain eyes darkened. He doesn’t care about anything else, but no one can or are allowed to harm his children!
He bent down and picked Yujian’s up gently. The child’s head rested against his shoulder.
"How stubborn and reckless." Li Jain sighed helplessly.
He didn’t forget to drag the snake along. He said there was still venom left in it and Yujian hadn’t finished absorbing all of it yet.
Shiny quickly followed and quietly curled back around Yujian’s wrist.

The next morning, Li Jain prepared the children breakfast as usual, while they got ready for school.
"Xiao Zhang, your homework is due today. Are you done with it?" Li Jain called out.
"Ah yes, Father." Li Zhang answered while putting down his backpack: "I spent all night doing it, I barely had any sleep."
Li Jain smiled: "That’s good."
Li Cheng who was arranging his books sneered at Li Zhang’s obvious lies: "What sleep you barely have? Weren’t you the one sleeping like a log while I stayed up to finish your homework?"
"It was you who lost the bet and had to be obligated to the terms." Li Zhang said proudly.
Liu Cheng rolled his eyes at him: "You only bring those dumb games when you want me to do things for you."
"A loss is a loss. What does it have to do with the type of the game? You could’ve chosen not to play." Li Zhang said innocently.
"I did tell you that I wasn’t interested, but you won’t stop bothering me." Li Cheng said with an irritated tone.
"I did, didn’t I?...haha." Li Zhang said as he grinned mischievously.
As soon as Li Zhang finished speaking, the door swung open.
"You guys! Have any of you seen Yujian?!" Yuhan shouted as he ran toward them.
"Woah, calm down. Did you check in your room?" Li Zhang asked
Yuhan shook his head: "If he was, I wouldn’t be looking for him here. I checked everywhere, but couldn’t find him."
"Maybe he’s playing hide and go seek." Li Zhang suggested
Yuhan and Cheng both looked at him as if he was a complete idiot.
"Shouldn’t you know your siblings by now?" Li Cheng sighs and says to Yuhan: "Check in the kitchen, he could be helping Father to make breakfast."
"Alright." Yuhan nodded: "That kid and his responsibility issues."
He turned to leave, when Li Zhang asked him with a smirk: "Seeing how you are in such a hurry, did you forget to do your homework and is looking for Ge to help you out?"
"Shut up, kid. What do you know?" Yuhan shot him a glare and stomped away.
"Hahahahaha" Li Zhang laughed heartily.
