Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Win or Die

A clean hit to the eye wasn't something anyone could survive against. The poisonous needles shooting from my arms were fast. Seeing how close I was to the Flooded Dragon, it didn't have time to close its eyelids!

It roared, shaking its body in pain. I squeezed my hands, gripping its body tightly, struggling to maintain my balance. It was difficult. My hands started itching and hurting, and I knew I couldn't hold on much longer. But then it stopped.

I realized the poison had begun to take effect. It was only a matter of time before I won the fight!

But then something unexpected happened. The Flooded Dragon roared again, but this time, the water inside the pit began to move, flowing towards the dragon!

The first thought that crossed my mind was, "I need to get away from this beast!" So, instead of staying attached to its scales, I released my grip and focused my Qi on my legs, leaping away like a frog.

Once I ensured I was far enough to avoid any potential blast, I locked my gaze on the Flooded Dragon. Its body was rapidly healing, and the replenishment of Qi was noticeable as well.

"Wait..." I realized something was amiss. Despite damaging both of its eyes, they were healing, and the dragon's vision was returning to its peak. That wasn't a good sign.

If its eyes were healing, then the poison inside its body must be following the same path. It meant I would have to fight the Flooded Dragon once again, but this time it was in better shape than before, and I didn't have my group to rely on.

My green aura continued to encircle my body, strong and vibrant. I had no injuries; I was at my peak condition. However, while I was in the tenth layer, my enemy was in the twelfth...

But there was no way in hell I would back down! I had my companions—a toad and a fish—to take care of, and I wouldn't die before finding the peace I sought.

"You're just an overly large lizard, you cunt!" I yelled.

Ye Hu, Hou Suyin, and Hou Biya had left the pit and were watching the fight from above. I noticed their astonished faces.

"Tian Li, be careful! We will descend to help you after we recover," Ye Hu yelled from the top.

That was bullshit. Sure, he was injured, and the two girls had little Qi left to use, but they were running away, probably scared because the fight had turned difficult. I was the only one risking my life there!

The Flooded Dragon, having healed its body, began flapping its wings and headed straight for me. It wasn't fast, and its flight was sloppy, but the sight of that enormous creature coming toward me made my blood boil and my hairs stand up in excitement.

I ran toward the pit's wall, trying to put as much distance as possible between myself and the Flooded Dragon, which was approaching me directly.

"Is he running away?" Hou Suyin said.

I heard her, but that was all part of my plan! The Flooded Dragon was powerful, but it was still a beast, and most beasts were dumb as fuck.

Once I reached the pit's wall, I turned around to face the dragon, which was flying towards me with its mouth open, showing its rotten teeth. It wanted to swallow me!

"Come on, boy, come," I murmured.

It continued coming towards me, and my eyes were focused not only on the dragon itself but also on the remaining distance.

"Not now..."

"Almost..."

"Now!"

The Flooded Dragon was almost upon me, but just as its mouth was about to catch me, I unleashed Big T's power! The green aura circling my body shifted, focusing solely on my legs!

I felt an incredible burst of power, even greater than when the green aura was spread throughout my entire body. Concentrating it in one spot had its benefits.

Then, I jumped! I soared so high it felt like I was flying, almost reaching the cave's high ceiling!

With its momentum, the Flooded Dragon couldn't stop itself from crashing into the pit's wall. It broke through the rocky barrier, entering it! The damage to its head was massive, and I noticed the dizziness in the dragon's eyes!

That was the perfect opportunity! In mid-air, I swung my body, making my feet connect with the ceiling and using the momentum to descend like a bullet. My speed going up was already extraordinary, but my speed going down after utilizing the ceiling was simply otherworldly!

In no time, I was near the dragon's head. Using the same technique as before, I managed to pierce both of its eyes again!

The dragon roared in pain as the needles pierced its eyes, and a green liquid spread through its pupils, causing its vision to go dark.

I didn't stop there! This window of the dragon's dizziness was the best moment, and wasting it would be foolish.

There was one attack that I had yet to test. Its knowledge entered my mind after reaching a certain level of power with my second Dantian. It was undoubtedly a powerful attack, but I had no idea if it would work!

Nevertheless, I went for it! The green aura circling my body condensed into my hands as I cast a spell.

"Corrosive Acid Shot!" I yelled.

A blast of green liquid shot toward the dragon, entering its mouth and melting its teeth and skin on impact. The corrosive substance continued down its throat, causing the Flooded Dragon to fall onto its back, writhing in pain as life faded from its body. It was dead!

But despite my victory, the fight was far from over. My control over the spell, Corrosive Acid Shot, was lacking. I hadn't practiced it in controlled situations, so a portion of the green liquid splashed onto my left arm. 𝑏𝑒𝘥𝑛𝘰𝑣𝑒𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

The corrosion took effect swiftly, and I screamed in agony as my skin melted away. The pain was unbearable, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. I looked down to find my arm reduced to mere bones, rendered useless. Although it was a devastating blow, I knew there were ways to restore it in the future.

"Tian Li!" Ye Hu and the two girls rushed to my side, carrying bandages and healing herbs in their Spatial Pouches. While it wouldn't heal my arm completely, it provided some relief and prevented the pain from worsening.

"I am so sorry," Ye Hu said, bowing his head. "You can keep the entire demonic core from the Flooded Dragon as a small reward for losing your arm. Perhaps, in the future, if you reach the Foundation realm, you can restore it..."
