Chapter 450: Chapter 450: My Face Is Stiff from Smiling

"Mary, let me introduce you, this is my father..."

Amelia Miles facilitated introductions for those present.

Mary Wayde put on a fake smile.

Her gaze lingered on the two little ones for several seconds.

She knew Amelia was gaining status because of these two little sons.

Really, it was enviable to the point of death.

The two little ones were perceptive and clearly saw that the visiting aunt wasn’t friendly.

Look at the way she watched their dad; it seemed like another admirer attracted by their dad.

"Mary, why did you drink so much last night?"

Amelia deliberately asked.

Mary was drinking her milk, her eyes flickering upon hearing this.

"Oh, my best friend broke up with her boyfriend, and I was so emotional, I drank too much."

Damn woman, does she still need to poke at my pain?

I worked hard last night and got nothing but suffering.

Thinking about it makes me even angrier!

"Didn’t expect you to be quite emotional, Mary." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Amelia continued her innocent act.

Mary just felt like the place where she was hit hurt more.

She touched the wound on her forehead, her brows furrowing tightly.

Amelia noticed this and couldn’t help but laugh internally, but pretended to care, "Mary, is your head hurting badly? How about you take a couple of days off from work?"

Upon hearing this, Mary quickly replied, "No need, I’m fine."

Having finally gotten close to Damon Hawke, she wasn’t about to take a break.

"Listen to your cousin-in-law; I’ll give you a two-day break to rest at home."

Damon Hawke spoke calmly beside her.

"Cousin, I’m really fine."

"That’s the decision."

Damon spoke definitively, not letting her argue.

Mary opened her mouth, looking at Damon’s cold face, finding herself at a loss for words.

Her gaze fell again on Amelia Miles’s smiling face, and Mary felt so angry she wanted to explode.

Why did she have to keep eating this couple’s public displays of affection?

They always seem like a harmonious pair.

How are these two the opposite?

It made her sick!

"Tom, this Saturday is Evan Miles’s daughter Tilly’s birthday. I’m her godmother, so I’ll be going, and you’re coming with me."

Amelia disregarded Mary’s gaze and spoke to Damon.

Damon gave Amelia a glance, slightly raising his eyebrows.

Evan Miles?

Her ex-boyfriend.

It seemed his wife wasn’t trying to hide anything.

"Alright."

She didn’t avoid it, meaning she didn’t see him as an outsider.

He was naturally glad to comply.

"Little Tilly? Mommy, I haven’t seen little Tilly for a long time, I really miss her."

Bea’s eyes brightened as she spoke.

"Yes, you two should go together on Saturday."

Amelia smiled.

"Okay, okay."

Bea nodded, looking at Dominic, "Brother, you’ve never seen Tilly before, she’s really cute. On that day, let’s wear the same clothes to surprise her; she won’t be able to guess who we are."

Dominic’s little face showed no expression as he glanced at him, "You love playing guessing games? So silly, so dumb."

Their brother was really too childish.

He always liked seeing strangers surprised.

Even though he and his silly brother had different vibes, why did people always mistake them?

"Hehe, we’re kids; silly and dumb are called adorable."

Bea laughed, looking at the opposite Mary Wayde, "If adults are silly and dumb, they become annoying."

The words were loaded with meaning.

Amelia Miles understood the implicative tone from the little one, finding it amusing as she gave him a glance.

Bea beamed at her, "Luckily, Mommy is the most likable person I’ve ever met. Daddy will love Mommy forever, right?"

Damon was suddenly mentioned, raising his eyebrows and glancing at Amelia, his voice low, "Of course."

"Hehe, we’re a loving family."

"Brother, stop laughing silly, finish your breakfast quickly, Grandpa and they are waiting impatiently."

"Brother, this is a happy smile, okay?"

"..."

Listening to the brothers’ conversation and looking at the harmonious family scene was too much for Mary Wayde.

"Cousin, my head hurts."

If she stayed any longer, she’d probably hemorrhage from anger.

"I’ll have the driver take you back."

Damon Hawke said.

Mary opened her mouth, originally wanting to ask if he could take her himself.

But after giving instructions, Damon was already getting up to help the two little ones with their backpacks, not even glancing at her.

Mary bit her lip and left reluctantly.

The elder of the Hawke family and Hunter Miles had been waiting a long time; when the two little ones finished eating, each took one by the hand, laughing as they left.

The house quieted down.

Amelia Miles patted her own face, complaining, "Finally some peace, my face is stiff from smiling."

Damon Hawke pulled her close, chuckling, "You’ve worked hard, dear."

Amelia eyed him, "It’s all because of your romantic debts."

"I can’t help it; your husband is charming."

Damon raised his eyebrows and replied.

"Is it? You seem pretty smug about it."

Amelia eyed him, pulling his hand away.

The threat lingered heavily.

Damon, full of a desire to survive, said, "No, having such charm is frustrating, luckily I have you."

"Hehe, hypocrite."

"No, I’ve always been honest with you."

"..."

Meanwhile...

Elena Soo had been thoroughly exhausted by Evan Miles last night, barely awake hearing someone knocking on the door.

She tried hard to open her eyes to the door, then heard it open.

"Master."

"What’s the matter?"

"Madam asked me to check why Miss Soo hasn’t come down yet?"

This was the servant talking to Evan Miles.

Having been told by Evan’s mother to treat her like a maid meant Evan’s mother wanted the servant to call her down to do chores.

Elena Soo smirked, her mind now clear.

She suppressed her body aches and prepared to get up.

"Elena Soo is my wife, what did you call her?"

Evan’s cold voice came, causing Elena to freeze and continue listening.

"Master, it was Madam’s instructions, asking us to refer to Madam as Miss Soo."

The servant quickly replied.

"Do not let me hear the words ’Miss Soo’ again. I’m repeating myself, she’s my wife, and your mistress."

Evan coldly said, "Also, don’t make her do your work anymore; if I find out you’re bullying her, don’t blame me for not being lenient."

The man’s voice was cold and steely.

Elena Soo listened to his defense of her, and her resentment began to dissipate.

It was undeniable, Evan Miles was a competent husband.

She should try to love him.

Bleep, her phone received a message.

Elena picked it up, glancing at the unfamiliar number.

Why was there a message from an unknown number so early?

Elena looked puzzled but trembled slightly upon seeing the message’s content.

"Meryl, how did you get home last night?"

The number belonged to Leo Warren!

Because only Leo Warren would call her by that nickname!

Elena pressed her lips together; before she could reply, Leo sent another message.

"Your brother fell into a trap organized by the Collins Family’s Melody Lane. Be cautious."
