Dance Of The Dragons-Chapter 515 : (Extra) Separating The Twins (3)
Xie Jianyu spent the entire day going from one palace to another, tending to official business.
Although he took care of his assignments as intended, the Crown Prince was far from being delighted.
Dark cloud accompanied his every step, his dejection palpable within a hundred meter of distance.
"I am back," he slid down Wangshu’s back as soon as he arrived at Fuxi Palace.
His husband Zhang Fengxi was sitting at the verandah, playing with their young daughter, Zhang Yueting.
Tingting recently developed a liking in applying colors to the face, thus she spent the entire afternoon beautifying his father. In her words, her mother was too pretty to apply makeup on.
"Baby, you are back," Zhang Fengxi turned to greet his wife with a face full of white powder, bright crimson circles high on his cheeks, ground charcoal around his eyes, and lips stained a garish red. He looked like a lost ghost.
"..."
"Mommy ish back!" Zhang Yueting squealed before she launched herself into Xie Jianyu’s arms.
Unexpectedly, Xie Jianyu broke into sobs. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Zhang Yueting’s lips fell open in surprise.
"Mommy, did anyone bully you??"
Zhang Fengxi quickly approached his wife.
"Oh, Jianbao, don’t cry. I am still your handsome husband. Let me just wipe these off... Wait a second..."
The Supreme General furrowed his brows when he failed to remove the ghastly coloring on his face no matter how hard he rubbed.
"Tingting, what did you use to color Daddy’s face?" he asked his daughter.
"Magical paint from Aunt Qingyue," the little girl replied innocently. "She sed to use it on Daddy."
"..."
Shi Qingyue!
Zhang Fengxi burned with the spirit of vengeance. He was going to take care of Shi Qingyue later. Right now, his wife took the highest priority.
"Baby, what’s wrong?"
Zhang Fengxi cradled Xie Jianyu in his arms. But when he leaned closer to give the omega a kiss, he was unexpectedly pushed away.
"..."
Xie Jianyu wiped at his eyes before pressing a hand against the lower half of his face.
"Never mind," he said. "Don’t kiss me when you look like that. It makes me feel sick."
"...."
Shi Qingyue...!!!
"Where is Junjie?" Xie Jianyu asked. "Has he finished the cultivation manual I asked him to read?"
Zhang Fengxi swallowed hard.
"Uhh, Baby, why don’t you sit down first?" The alpha coaxed. "At the very least, you should drink and eat something first. Mingyu...!!!"
Mingyu quickly hurried over with a tray of tea and cookies, but Xie Jianyu waved it off.
"No need," he said with a sigh. "I just want to see Junjie."
His heart was aching because of a certain tiger boy, who kept escaping between his fingers. If he didn’t know better, he might suspect that Zhang Mingrui deliberately avoided seeing him.
Maybe Zhang Mingrui did not miss his mother at all.
"Uhh, Jianbao, don’t be mad but..."
Zhang Fengxi hurried behind his wife when the latter climbed the steps toward the Bell Tower. Just like his mother, Xie Junjie developed a liking to the nearby pavilion.
But unlike his mother, Xie Junjie did not use it solely for meditative purposes.
Right now, the usually meticulous pavilion ground was littered with all kinds of snacks and sweets.
Xie Junjie was not alone. He was accompanied by another boy who bore uncanny resemblance to him.
"What is this?" Xie Junjie lifted a curious item. It was roughly cone-shaped, its emerald green surface dotted with numerous bulging pockets. The texture felt smooth and surprisingly light, despite its unusual appearance.
A triumphant grin stretched across Zhang Mingrui’s face. There were precious few things that eluded Xie Junjie’s knowledge, and the tiger boy took immense pleasure in schooling the dragon boy on those rare occasions.
"This, Junjie, is called a lotus pod. Look, you can squeeze each pocket like this, and..."
Xie Junjie widened his eyes when a bright green seed popped out of the pocket. He held it in his hands and stared at it in bewilderment.
"Can we eat this?"
"Of course! It is called lotus seed. Very delicious, try it out!"
"Hmm..."
Xie Junjie hesitantly took a bite.
"Wellll?" Zhang Mingrui drawled with a grin. "Is it tasty?"
Xie Junjie nodded his head vigorously.
"Yes!" He confirmed.
"Hehehe~ If you like it, I am going to go to Human Realm many more times to bring them to you."
"But Mingrui..."
Xie Junjie stared at him. "Aren’t Grandpa and Grandma going to be upset with you...?"
Zhang Mingrui shook his head.
"I made sure to finish my homeworks and complete my lessons before I go. It is a little more difficult to escape Grandma, but ehh, I can manage," the tiger boy shrugged.
He merely did not understand why his grandmother liked to faint so often.
"Umm, Junjie..."
Zhang Mingrui pushed a bunch of lotus pods into his twin brother’s hands.
"Can you check whether Mommy likes eating lotus seeds or not?"
Hidden behind a tall undergrowth surrounding the pavilion, Xie Jianyu’s mouth parted slightly when Zhang Mingrui mentioned him.
"You are already here," Xie Junjie chewed on another lotus seed. "Ask him yourself."
"I can’t," Zhang Mingrui wailed. "Mommy is going to punish me for wandering to the Human Realm."
Xie Junjie stared at his twin brother for a while before his eyes drifted to a towering figure who stood behind Zhang Mingrui.
"Uh... Mingrui..."
"Please!" Zhang Mingrui clapped his hands together in a pleading gesture. "In fact, Yu Weimin told me that Mommy came to Qingyuan Palace to look for me today. I was so scared that I escaped on the spot!"
Before he continued pleading with his twin brother, he was enveloped by a pair of adult arms, the person’s weight pressing against him.
Zhang Mingrui’s mouth fell open when he heard Xie Jianyu’s voice.
"Mingrui," his mother sobbed. "You are so naughty."
Zhang Mingrui turned around to burrow himself into his mother’s arms.
"Mommy!!!! Wahhhhhhhh I miss you so much!!!"
And then, his gaze snagged at another person standing some distance away, grinning at him with his face painted in black, white, and red.
"ARGHHHHHHHHH A GHOSTTTTT!!!" He cried at the top of his lungs.
