Days of Dungeon: From Simple Quest to Strange Adventure-Chapter 131: From Arrival To Departure - Part 3
Bearer of the cursed eyes—A girl from the human race who bears eccentric blue eyes that hold two black pupils each, colliding as if life and death themselves. A woman who appears in every generation, dragging calamity and chaos in her wake, as if death is chasing her not to claim her life, but the lives of everyone around her.
Her existence wasn't recorded in any books nor archives—perhaps deliberately erased. She was only known and remembered by those who had seen her, by the few who lived and managed to pass down her tales.
"Meeting the likes of you for a third time, I wonder what kind of disaster you'll bring us."
That was how Cyra interpreted her encounter with the other women who bore the same eyes as Lynn. That was how everyone feared Lynn—both the leaders of the beastkin clans and the members of her group. Everyone except Arezu.
"It could be the other way around," he said, tightening his embrace around Lynn—not to restrain her, but to let her know he was on her side. "She could be the one chasing death, trying her best to save everyone's lives."
Arezu's words eased the worries their entire group felt toward Lynn. Even Cyra couldn't hide the faint smile crossing her lips. Most of all, it calmed the sadness Lynn felt from seeing everyone's terrified gazes directed at her.
She held Arezu's arm, as if reassuring him she was fine now. Her muffled protests behind the hand covering her lips had stopped. Yet even though she had stopped trying to talk back to the Beast Lord, the proud and confident glare in her eyes showed she wouldn't back down from a fight. And the Beast Lord wasn't foolish enough not to understand Lynn's audacity and vanity—or, simply put, her arrogance.
"You're even more arrogant than her, aren't you?"
At Cyra's remark, her vermilion wings began to glow brighter. Trails of vermilion light filled the hall, giving off a heat that made everyone feel as if they were burning from within their bodies. And to answer her intimidation, a freezing white mist spread through the air—courtesy of Lynn's Freeze mystic spell—canceling the burning heat everyone felt.
Before the intimidation could escalate into an all-out brawl, Brandon interrupted.
"Please stop this aggression, Lady Cyra. Or it will be considered a violation of the Beastkin Nation's alliance with the Eileen Kingdom."
The look Cyra gave Brandon as she turned her gaze on him showed she didn't care if the Beastkin Nation went to war against the Eileen Kingdom—and that scared everyone, including the leaders of the beastkin clans.
Regardless, Cyra stopped her intimidation, letting the glow of her wings fade and dispersing the vermilion rays of light engulfing the hall.
"Please deactivate your mystic spell, Ms. Lynn," Brandon added, giving Lynn an order in a serious tone rather than his usual calm demeanor.
Lynn, of course, was annoyed at being ordered around. She glared at Brandon with a look that told him to know his place. Regardless, she deactivated her mystic spell, causing the freezing white mist to disappear.

With the commotion and tension finally calming down, the supposed meeting began.
The Beast Lord sat on her throne with the clan leaders standing behind her. However, it did not begin with the discussion about the Mirare Town Dungeon Incident nor the losses the Annual Caravan suffered.
"Didn't I already give my approval for you to be part of Aiden Alfa?" Cyra said, glaring at the person she was addressing. "So why are you back here and not with them, Arezu?"
"Umm… Umm…"
Even before Arezu could answer, Lynn was already flaring up—muffled, throwing a tantrum, trying to break free from Arezu's restraint and lash out at the Beast Lord.
Just shut up already! everyone thought, terrified that the Beast Lord might get annoyed with Lynn again. But as if understanding the reason behind Lynn's tantrum, Cyra added another remark that agitated her further.
"Aren't you and Fafna doing well together?" she said, an arrogant grin curving her lips.
"Umm… Umm… UMM!"
Just answer already and end this conversation!
Pressured by everyone's glare, Arezu finally responded.
"Fafna and everyone at Aiden Alfa would be all right even without me, Lady Cyra."
His response seemed to calm Lynn's tantrum—only for her to flare up again at Cyra's next remark.
"Heh—So you're saying this girl isn't capable by herself? That's why you're with her?"
"UMMMM!"
---
The conversation about Arezu ended with Cyra laughing and mocking Lynn, while Liz, Kurea, and even Beatrix helped Arezu restrain Lynn further.
Only then did the discussion about Mirare Town and the Annual Caravan begin.
Brandon gave the report, starting with how the Annual Caravan lost half its members—from more than eight hundred individuals down to four hundred.
The Annual Caravan didn't consist of just random participants from the kingdom's force and various guilds; they were the best the Eileen Kingdom had to offer. That report alone terrified the leaders of the beastkin clans and even the Beast Lord herself. But what terrified them even more was the report about the Mirare Town Dungeon Incident—the reason a town of more than ten thousand people had fallen to ruins with no survivors.
"Even the Crystal Blade died…"
"That's ridiculous… How could a town turn into a dungeon…"
"An organization creating Dungeon Core replicas…"
"A replica of the Dungeon of Envy…"
Anxious chattering erupted among the clan leaders until the Beast Lord silenced them the moment she spoke again.
"And this Dungeon Core—have you retrieved it, Lord Brandon?"
At Cyra's request, Brandon took out the largest piece of the broken Dungeon Core from the enchantment storage of her golden armor.
The ominous, blackened–blood-colored jagged crystal—about the size of a human head—that appeared in Brandon's hand was proof that the Annual Caravan had indeed conquered a dungeon that had claimed thousands of lives, at the cost of hundreds of their own.
That realization brought an eerie silence to the throne chamber—until the Beast Lord spoke again.
"If you would allow us, Lord Brandon, our saintess and court mage will examine that Dungeon Core for you, to verify the nature of its curse—"
But before Cyra could finish her proposal, Lynn finally broke free—or at least managed to remove Arezu's hand covering her mouth.
"That Dungeon Core is my souvenir for Ms. Marionette… so don't you dare take it, you burnt hag!"
