Chapter 230: Chapter 230

There was a clear indication on the status panel that Aaron’s Class has been upgraded.

His profession is still Death Mage but the grade is SS-Rank now, rather than S-Rank as it was at the awakening.

Even after looking at the status panel, he still couldn’t believe it.

When he got the Physique, Bloodline and an upgrade of Talent, even though they seemed unbelievable, they are still possible, unlike the profession upgrade that happened now.

"It really looks like my Class has upgraded by a rank, then that would mean...", a smile formed on Aaron’s face as he thought about the future.

The Class and its rank are not that useful at the start. Many may think that they are just to dictate what skills the awakener gets, but the Class and its grade play much more important role than that, which happens when the professional reaches Rank-7.

---

Once Aaron came out of the stupor regarding his class, his eyes went to the number of levels he gained because of the quest. In just two days, he was able to gain fifty levels, a feat that he might not be able to repeat again in the near future or in the far future.

The reason why he gained so much was because he gave everything to clearing the dungeon.

Unlike before, when he would leave the dungeon at noon, this time, he even stayed the night behind. This was something not many have done, at least in the academy dungeons.

They might stay during the day but not at night. Everyone would leave the dungeons and go to their beds at night.

Aaron who usually left at noon, stayed the night. It was deep into the night on the second day when he left the dungeon and returned to his dorm house.

While in the dungeon, he didn’t sleep. He would rest for a while after a battle, but never slept. Only after reaching his house did he fall on his bed asleep.

Reaching 50 levels in two days was not so easy for him. If not for the quest, he wouldn’t have taken such a dungeon to complete.

Even though strength is important, so is rest.

If the body is stressed too much, it can disturb its foundation and may lead to problems in the future. So, improving strength might be important and the key to survival, but so is rest, as living a long life with a damaged body is not good.

So, at the moment, sleep was very necessary for him. He quickly exited the dungeon and returned to his dorm house, where he went to sleep quickly.

Before reaching his dorm, he gave only a quick glance at his status panel. He has a lot of FSPs and SPs, along with a new skill, which seemed to be located alongside Resistances, but he paid no attention to that.

He decided to check the next morning.

---

He woke up late in the afternoon, skipping breakfast.

So, he made a sumptuous meal for noon and ate it after getting fresh. While he ate his lunch, he took a look at his status panel.

He knew that he had completed his quest and was now Rank-4. He also remembered that his levels rose by 50, which gave him a lot of FSPs and SPs, but that’s all he did.

While eating his lunch, he calculated the number. From the numbers on the panel and the numbers that were used to be on the panel, he calculated that he obtained 8000 FSPs and 3200 SPs per level. This was double as he used to get when at Rank-3.

Last night, he was too tired and only gave a glance.

Now that he has rested for a while, he took a good look at his panel.

The number of FSPs has crossed 400k, almost 450k, but not yet. He immediately dumped those 400k FSPs into his luck, bringing the luck value to 37.

A big smile appeared on his face as he looked at the value. His luck was already very high. It was because of his high luck, he was able to defeat the final boss of that dungeon. He almost lost to the Lich Mage.

Also, he got two items from the Lich Mage.

Though there would be an occasional drop from Experience Dungeon Bosses, it was not guaranteed, and yet here, he got two items. Both were related to the Death Profession.

One was an equipment, called Bone Ring.

Bone Ring: The User can summon the undead that were destroyed without any Energy cost.

Limitation: Can only bring one monster, not an army, at a time.

CoolDown: 24 hours

--

With the limitation, summoning only an undead monster that was destroyed without any cost might not appear much, but that was where the second item drop comes in.

It was a Death Skill Scroll, when used, gives the awakener a Death Skill, Summon Lich Mage, but the scroll has a restriction. It was not for general use. Only a person who has awakened Death Professional can use this scroll.

--

Summon Lich Mage: The User can summon a Lich Mage. Unlike Skeleton Mages, Lich Mages have every elemental affinity, except for Light and associated affinities, which are their weakness. Liches can learn skills just like professionals, but are limited to magic skills. They can also wear gear similar to Professionals.

Lich Number: (0/1) Number increases by a single digit for every increase in rank, but for every three ranks, Liches would gain an extra skill.

--

Though this is similar to Summon Undead skills, it was quite different.

Lich Mages are the perfect Mage soldiers. They can use any magic skill, unlike his skeleton mages, who can only use a single magic skill.

They have the same weakness as his other undead, but Lich Mage can wear what he can wear and also learn skills. It means, as long as he can find gear or skills that can resist Light-based skills, he is golden.

So, he immediately used both items. He placed the ring in the place of Holder’s Defence Ring. He is a Death Professional. So, any equipment that can improve his profession takes precedence. He decided to give the ring to Erika before they left for their assignments.

He also used the Summon Lich Mage immediately.

Speaking of skills, after reaching Rank-4, he obtained a new skill. This skill was not an active one, but a Resistance, to be exact, Death Resistance. He would now feel less damage from other Death Professionals.

In addition to that, with a lot of SPs in his pocket, he improved Death Resistance to Rank 9 along with Summon Ghost, which now stands at Gold Rank 1.

Aaron now has a possibility of a 20k undead army. He has to summon new ghosts, as he just increased his rank. New ghosts don’t sprout from nothing. He has to summon them, which would take some time.

So, though he has the same number as before, he can have 20k undead in a few days.

Though he could increase his Summon Lich Mage to a higher rank, he didn’t. He wanted to check what a Lich Mage can do first, before increasing their number.

He has a feeling that the mana consumption might be high, or why else would it only give a single Lich at Rank 0, and increase the number by one for every skill rank up? He was sure that this was not a newbie skill.

Well, it did come from an A-rank monster, which can eliminate a newbie with a sneeze.

In addition to the possible mana expenditure, he has to summon ghosts to fill the gaps. That was his first priority.

His new updated status is as below.
