Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Airport Silhouette

The message on Isaac Vaughn’s phone was from Ethan Vaughn, inviting him to meet up.

A puzzling invitation, definitely not a good sign.

He turned off his phone and immediately looked into Julian Beckett’s cold eyes, instinctively calling out, "Big brother?"

Julian’s face still didn’t look very good, and he turned back to Natalie Kendall and said, "Nat, I have something to discuss with you alone."

This was suggesting Isaac Vaughn leave.

"I’ll go check on how Mrs. Watson’s doing with dinner. Big brother, stay for dinner."

Isaac Vaughn said this and then stood up to leave.

"Brother, what do you want to talk to me about?"

"Don’t let Isaac Vaughn get involved with this government project." Julian didn’t beat around the bush.

Natalie’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise, "You don’t trust him?"

Julian retorted, "Do you trust him that much?"

Before Natalie could respond, Julian continued, "Don’t trust him so much. Nat, Isaac Vaughn does things with a purpose, he..."

"I know." Natalie interrupted Julian, speaking softly.

Julian was startled.

He looked at his sister, whom he had grown up with, and suddenly couldn’t understand her.

"Since you know Isaac Vaughn has a purpose for being around you, why do you indulge him?"

Natalie said nothing.

Julian frowned, "Nat, what are you thinking? I’m your brother, is there something you can’t tell me?"

"Brother, did grandpa really die from a heart attack?"

Suddenly, Natalie changed the topic, bluntly, and it was too unexpected.

Julian froze.

After a while, his expression showed some displeasure, "Yes. What do you mean by suddenly asking this? Are you suspecting something? Suspecting someone harmed grandpa? Who are you suspecting?"

Natalie replied calmly, "I was just asking casually."

"Casually? Really?"

Julian sneered and said, standing up with a thoroughly gloomy face, "It’s getting late, I’m leaving."

"Not staying for dinner?" Natalie asked.

Julian didn’t answer and walked away.

Shortly after, Isaac Vaughn walked in.

"What did you talk about with your brother? Why did he leave without staying for dinner?"

"I upset him." Natalie said calmly.

Isaac Vaughn frowned slightly at the words and sat down at the bedside, holding her fingers, "Is it because of me?"

Natalie said no.

——

Hotel.

Upon hearing the door open, Nina Abbott jumped off the bed and ran to the entrance to greet him: "You’re back."

She was wearing a spaghetti-strap nightgown, her fair skin like milk.

Standing there with her eyebrows curved, her charming look eased the restlessness in Julian Beckett’s troubled heart.

He walked toward her and hooked an arm around her waist, pinched her chin with the other, and lowered his head to kiss her lips.

Nina tiptoed, trying to match his efforts.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and with a few steps pressed her down on the bed.

Last night they were wild, and truth be told, Nina was still uncomfortable.

But she didn’t want to reject him.

Her nightgown slipped off her body.

Julian’s clothes remained untouched.

Nina pouted in dissatisfaction, reaching to undo his buttons.

A smile escaped from the corner of Julian’s mouth, indulging her actions.

But just as she undid the third button, Julian’s phone rang.

He wanted to silence it, but upon seeing who was calling, he quickly stopped Nina’s movements and flipped over to sit at the bedside.

The passion was at its peak.

Nina was somewhat bewildered.

She looked at Julian’s back, seated at the bedside, listening as he soothed the person on the other end with a deep voice, "Don’t be afraid, I’m coming back soon, wait for me."

After ending the call, he got up to leave directly.

Startled, Nina called to him, "Julian!"

Julian seemed to remember her presence only then, turned and said, "I have to go back to Janton immediately."

"What?"

Without giving Nina a chance to react, he walked away.

——

The next day.

Nina came to see Natalie, and Natalie noticed she seemed distracted, asking, "Nina, do you have something on your mind?"

"Nat, let me ask you something, do you know if your brother has a first love or someone he can’t forget?"

Natalie shook her head, "I don’t really know."

Nina sighed, "Last night I and your brother were about to, well, something, and he took a call and rushed back to Janton."

"Was it work?"

"No. The person who called him should be a woman."

Speaking of it, Nina started to sigh deeply again.

Natalie thought a little, held her hand: "You should go back to Janton."

"Hmm?"

"Go and see, or you’ll keep worrying."

Nina didn’t deny.

That’s true.

Last night she almost didn’t sleep a wink.

"But I’m here to accompany you..."

"You don’t need to worry about me."

With Natalie’s words, Nina took the soonest flight back to Janton that day.

Once in Janton, she went straight to Julian’s apartment.

After they started dating, Julian had brought her here a few times, and on her second visit, he gave her an entry card and told her the lock code.

Nina was entering the code, on the last digit, when the door opened.

She thought Julian was at home, but her smile froze when she saw a woman wrapped in a towel open the door.

——

Natalie couldn’t reach Nina.

Not until three days later did she get a message from Nina saying she broke up with her brother.

Natalie immediately asked what happened, but Nina was reluctant to elaborate.

Initially, they just faked Nina’s heartbreak, and unexpectedly, it became real.

Natalie felt suffocated and told Isaac Vaughn she wanted to go to Janton to see Nina.

But Isaac Vaughn insisted against it citing her need for recovery.

Left with no choice, Natalie stayed in Rhovan.

Two weeks later.

Janton Airport.

Natalie and Isaac Vaughn got off the plane and were preparing to leave the terminal when suddenly a slender figure caught Natalie’s eye.

She almost instantly recognized the person.

Her heart ached sharply.

In the next moment, she broke free from Isaac Vaughn’s stunned grip and stumbled toward the figure.
