Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 138: Natalie Feels Something Is Wrong
A few steps away.
Cynthia Kendall stared fiercely at the two.
Natalie Kendall instinctively reached out to hold Jordan Rivers’s hand.
Jordan’s small hand was held by his sister, his little face was full of smiles, clasping his sister’s hand tightly, afraid she would let go.
Cynthia stepped over, her gaze landing on Jordan’s face.
Jordan was frightened by that fierce look, leaned close to Natalie, and whispered to her, "Sister."
"Sister?" Cynthia looked at Natalie, "Who is he?"
She was really asking the obvious.
Jordan’s eyes, nose, and mouth resembled Lydia Fletcher about fifty or sixty percent; it was clear who he was.
Not to mention, he was calling Natalie sister.
"No one," Natalie shielded Jordan.
Cynthia sneered but surprisingly didn’t persist and walked away.
Once she left, Natalie breathed a sigh of relief.
"Sister, who was that pretty lady?"
"No one," Natalie responded the same way to Jordan.
Jordan licked his lips, feeling a bit sad: "Sister, the pretty lady’s look was so scary, does she dislike me? But I didn’t do anything wrong."
Natalie slightly frowned, calmly said: "Stop overthinking, let’s go."
The two took the elevator down, ready to fetch the car, Jordan sheepishly pressed his legs together: "Sister, I need to pee."
He drank milk tea and ate ice cream, now he was holding his bladder.
Natalie took him to the restroom door, asked: "Can you go in by yourself?"
Jordan, eager to show his independence in front of his sister, nodded earnestly: "I can!"
"Okay, go ahead, I’ll wait for you at the door."
Natalie watched Jordan enter the men’s restroom, as she withdrew her gaze, her phone suddenly rang.
Just as she picked up, a man running past bumped her shoulder hard, the phone fell to the ground, and then was kicked far away by the man.
"I’m sorry! I’m sorry!"
The man immediately apologized.
Natalie went to pick up the phone.
The man followed, continuing to apologize: "I’m really sorry! Check if it’s damaged? If it is, I’ll compensate! I won’t back out on this!"
Natalie didn’t want to get involved, calmly said: "It’s fine."
"Oh dear! I’m really sorry, miss! I truly didn’t mean to! I have an urgent matter! To be honest, I have an interview today, but I accidentally stained my clothes, so I’m rushing to buy something new. You have no idea how long I’ve been unemployed, this opportunity is really precious to me. I..."
Natalie didn’t expect the man to go on and on.
These matters were his, unrelated to her, and she wasn’t interested.
"I’ve already said it’s okay," Natalie interrupted him, "You can leave now."
The man still continued: "Miss, you’re really kind! If you were difficult, I’d be in trouble! I really was in a hurry which is why I accidentally bumped into you."
Natalie was truly speechless.
She quickly walked towards the restroom, but the man followed, forcing her to coldly say: "If you keep this up, I’ll have to call security."
"Alright, alright. Miss, no security, I’m leaving." The man innocently raised his hands, gave a sly smile, and turned away.
His final smile made Natalie feel something was off.
Something crossed her mind.
Jordan!
It’s been so long, why hasn’t Jordan come out?
Natalie rushed to the men’s restroom door but couldn’t go in, she could only shout towards the inside: "Jordan! Jordan!"
No response.
Her heart sank.
Suddenly she heard a shout: "Sister!"
It was Jordan’s voice!
