Deep in the Living-Chapter 36 - 32: Heavy Rain
Chapter 36: Chapter 32: Heavy Rain
"What are you looking at? By the way, are you hungry?"
The class leader's words pulled Luo Di's thoughts back from outside the window, and seeing that it was already 19:30, it's undeniable that time flies when watching movies.
"Nothing much, just a moment."
In less than fifteen minutes, Luo Di brought out four freshly steamed buns from the kitchen, along with a large plate of preserved vegetable pork shreds and pickled radishes.
"Let's eat while we watch."
Not sure if she triggered any keyword, the class leader suddenly got so excited that she almost jumped off the sofa.
"This is too blissful! At my house, I absolutely can't do this. If I did something else while eating, I'd be scolded to death."
She meticulously mimicked Luo Di, grabbing a proportionate mix of stir-fried vegetables and dried radishes with her bun, and bit down to find the rich flavors bursting in her mouth.
Enjoying the delicious food while also taking in the entertainment on screen,
this was truly the first time in her life,
and for most people, this normal activity excited her nerves, making her tear glands more active, without even realizing that tears were seeping out.
"Luo Di... thank you."
With one hand holding a bun and the other lifting in the act, Luo Di, still focusing on the movie plot, softly acknowledged this time.
"Mmh."
...
No need to run at night, naturally, that left plenty of time in the evening,
the two of them ended up watching three movies in a row, even discussing in between, with Luo Di explaining some details in the movie, educating about the origin of murderers, and various abilities, etc.
The class leader sat cross-legged as if she was in class, only short of taking notes.
[22:40]
As the credits rolled up, the movie night came to an end,
the class leader stretched her body backward, yawning continuously.
"Happy times always fly by so quickly.
Luo Di, it's fine if there are no extra blankets, I can wear my down jacket and won't be cold. Your house's heating is quite strong; I'm even thinking of taking off my socks."
However, as Luo Di crouched in front of the TV picking up DVDs, he suddenly burst out:
"Come sleep in my room."
"Huh? Didn't you say I was going to sleep on the sofa?"
"I'll make a bed on the floor in my room... I thought about it, the community is still locked down, and I personally have a bad premonition."
Luo Di still remembered the silhouette he glanced out of the corner of his eye a few hours ago, and although it was highly likely a mistake, he didn't want to take any risks as long as there was even a tiny possibility.
"...Okay."
The class leader, entering the bedroom of a male peer for the first time and even spending the night, was a bit nervous. But the excitement of exploring Luo Di's mysterious bedroom stirred within her.
Entering the bedroom, there was none of the weird smells she heard about from sisterly chats, no randomly hung clothes, but as tidy as the rest of the house.
A simple bedroom layout,
sliding blackout curtains ensuring no visuals from outside,
a one and half meter wide bed with a cabinet, paired with a desk just big enough for one person,
but compared to the rest of the house's minimalist style, Luo Di's room had quite a few more miscellaneous items.
Various B-movie posters stuck on the walls,
some exorcism novels neatly piled by the bed,
and as for DVDs, Luo Di kept them in a drawer in the desk,
"Wow, did you draw this?"
The class leader's awkwardness was instantly conquered by curiosity; she quickly approached the desk where a mask drawn by Luo Di was taped, clearly a lot of thought put into each line, and numerous drafts about mask designs pressurized under books.
"Yes."
"It's really beautiful! I feel it has more character than the masks of the murderers in the movies tonight."
"I plan to customize a mask from the drawing after I receive the admissions scholarship."

"You can make it now~ I'll pay for it, consider it today's meal and accommodation fees."
"Let's talk after graduation."
Luo Di fetched bedding from the closet and laid it on the floor.
"Luo Di, do you have any shorts? Like those worn outside during sports, lend me for the night... maybe I didn't notice during the movie watching, my tights are slightly sweaty, sleeping in them would be quite uncomfortable.
Also, give me a towel, if there isn't one, using clothes to wipe is also fine."
"Are you going to shower?"
"Definitely~ I moved around a lot today following you, and with the heat on, I sweated quite a bit."
Luo Di directly tossed a set of neatly folded sports shorts and an everyday T-shirt, "Wear the shorts and use the T-shirt as a towel then, I'll wash them after you leave.
As for toiletries like toothbrushes, we might not have spares at home, just manage with your fingers."
"Sounds good."
"Go take your shower."
As the sound of the shower came from the bathroom, Luo Di came to his desk, pulled out a notebook from the depths of a drawer, and began earnestly recording everything that happened today.
Though his [routine] was completely disrupted, he was not irritable as usual, and even had an unusually positive mood.
After finishing the journal,
Luo Di went back to the balcony, fed Horned Parrot, checked the position of the air conditioning unit outside, and made sure the windows were locked.
Ensuring everything was correct, he returned to his room, carefully placed a knife under the mattress, ready to be grabbed at any moment during sleep.
When he looked up again, he happened to see the class monitor walking in,
but it was not what he had expected; she wore an oversized T-shirt and shorts, carrying her folded turtleneck sweater, skirt, and white tights in her hands.
"Weren't you supposed to use the clothes as a towel? Why did you put them on?"
"Your T-shirt feels much more comfortable on, and this sweater is quite hot... Plus, I rarely wear these kinds of clothes, I've been uncomfortable all day."
"What did you use to wipe yourself then?"
"I'll compensate you with some tissues tomorrow~"
"Let's sleep, it should be unlocked by tomorrow morning."
The doors and windows were locked,
the ceiling light was off,
but the bedside lamp was kept on, ensuring the lighting in the room was within a fixed range.
Usually, the bedroom curtains are also drawn to ensure the outside light can infiltrate, maintaining sufficient brightness, even if there's a power outage at home.
Tonight, due to the class monitor's stayover, Luo Di had the curtains drawn.
About five minutes later, the class monitor's voice came from under the bed: "I can't sleep at all... Want to chat?"
But the only response she received was a faint snore.
"Tch~"
The class monitor reached her arm out from the bedding, crawling up the bed, attempting to touch Luo Di's arm but eventually she retracted it.
Wrapped tightly in the blankets, she slowly fell asleep to the white noise of the storm.
...
A ray of morning sunlight seeped through the gap at the edge of the curtain, just falling on Luo Di's face.
Perhaps because of yesterday's 'uniqueness', Luo Di seemed very tired, his drowsiness fiercely preventing his eyelids from opening, rendering his vision blurry.
In the haze,
Luo Di, sleeping on his side, suddenly caught sight of the bedding in front of him appearing bulged, shaping like a slender human body sideways,
Such a startling sight snapped him to alertness, his vision filled by dark hair, even revealing a glimpse of pure white shoulder, only that the flawless shoulder bore a scar.
In that moment,
Luo Di's thoughts slowed down, unable to understand why the class monitor would be lying next to him in the nude.
Just as he reached out to touch the class monitor's shoulder,
Buzz! The wristband vibrated.
He received a message, and the sender was [Wu Wen].
"Luo Di, our neighborhood was unlocked last night. My family urgently asked me to come back home, you were sleeping so soundly I didn't wake you, let's hang out another day (¬‿¬)."
Luo Di tensed up all over,
his other hand reached under the mattress for the machete,
Of course, he didn't chop the person beside him right away, the message could just be a joke by the class monitor.
Holding the machete in one hand and grasping the person by the shoulder with the other, he tried to turn them over to confirm their identity.
With a gentle exertion of his arm, the person beside slowly started to rotate, shifting from lying on the side to lying on their back.
No facial features,
the entire face was just a Huge mouth at the center, shriveled and covered with scorch marks, resembling a Hell's cavern.
Filled inside with tongues of various sizes,
as Luo Di looked at these tongues, the little creatures immediately tensed up, slapping together inside the mouth cavity.
Snap!
A sharp clacking sound swept through his thoughts, shattering the surroundings.
Luo Di's eyes opened once more,
truly awakening.
It was not morning yet, the bedside lamp was still on, and the wristband displayed the time [02:40].
"A dream..."
Luo Di instinctively looked beside him, the bed had only him on it, the class monitor was sound asleep on the floor.
Perhaps due to not going for his nightly run last night, causing the body fluids not completely expelled, a strong urge to urinate struck,
Luo Di tiptoed out of the bedroom without disturbing the class monitor,
The storm continued,
the fright from the nightmare leaving his brain unusually alert, as Luo Di returned to the bedroom after using the bathroom, his ears suddenly picked up an incongruent sound,
It was the sound of rainwater splashing inside.
He decisively headed to the living room, and the balcony window that should have been closed was slightly open.
Just as Luo Di realized there was a problem,
Click—power outage.
The lights inside went out simultaneously, fortunately, the street lights outside remained on, preventing the room from plunging into total darkness.
Boom!
A timely thunderclap appeared,
above the ceiling between Luo Di and the bedroom, an indistinct-faced Monster was crouching,
It's hard to say if it was human,
because this thing had heads on both ends, and swaying black hair dangling in the air...
