Chapter 51: Chapter 51: I’ll Help You Take Revenge

All along, Thea Lynch’s affection for Ian Preston has been a secret.

But unfortunately, this secret was later discovered by someone.

And that someone was Sean Bell.

Knowing they were cousins, at first, Thea Lynch was on edge, fearing Sean Bell would tell Ian Preston about this.

Because at the time, she had only recently developed feelings for Ian Preston and hadn’t decided to confess yet.

Sean Bell was indeed quite peculiar, and she could never grasp what was on his mind.

She tested him, hoping Sean Bell would keep the secret for now. Strangely enough, he actually agreed at the time.

Later, Sean Bell kept asking about her progress and even suggested helping her pursue Ian Preston.

However, she planned to confess to Ian Preston after the college entrance exams ended, so she didn’t agree to Sean Bell’s proposal.

Sean Bell knew not only about these things but also about Ian Preston’s mother and Nina Sinclair coming to Westmere to find her years ago; he was one of the few informed about this.

To put it simply, Sean Bell had quite a few secrets about her, a lot of "leverage" against her.

Among these prominent family brothers, her relationship with Sean Bell wasn’t particularly good, but it wasn’t particularly bad either.

Their age difference was only two years, she started school a year early, so the two had always been in the same school, just one grade apart, and usually had a bit more interaction. But Sean Bell’s character was just too hard to comprehend.

So among these people, the ones she least wanted to deal with besides Ian Preston were Sean Bell. These two cousins truly showed there was some blood connection between them.

"That was before." Thea Lynch glanced at him coldly, her voice clear: "I have no thoughts about your brother now, so don’t say that again."

What does it mean that she has a chance now?

Sean Bell chuckled, his shoulders shaking slightly, "Can you honestly say that?"

"You..."

"You can’t deceive me. I bet you still like third brother."

Thea Lynch refused to be weak: "What’s the bet?"

He spread his hands, smiling to her dismay: "Anything you want. But do you really dare to bet?"

"..."

Thea Lynch felt she truly misunderstood the situation. She and Ian Preston weren’t the crazy ones, Sean Bell was the complete lunatic; compared to Sean Bell, they were rather rational.

However, she never had a personality to concede, "I dare bet with you."

Opposite, Sean Bell’s eyes brightened. The next moment, Thea Lynch leaned back, suddenly made a turning point to break his expectations:

"But I have no need to bet with you."

"I injured my ear in the car accident back then, not my brain. Your brain is not normal, don’t pull me down with you."

"If I end up betting on these trivial things with you, all I will waste is my time."

Sean Bell: "How can it be a waste of time, aren’t you curious to see if third brother would be moved?"

Thea Lynch frowned, "What does betting prove anyway? To show whether I still like him, or if he might like me? So many years have passed, how are you still so childish? No matter whether you win or I win, it’s truly unimportant to me."

"This bet doesn’t have any meaningful beginning. If we’re talking about my teenage years, I might have been interested in playing along with you."

The words Thea Lynch spoke were not hypocritical at all; she was no longer the seventeen-year-old Thea Lynch, and Ian Preston was not the Ian Preston from those days.

She admitted, she still liked Ian Preston.

But what she had kept in her heart was the Ian Preston from back then.

No one could surpass the him from those days, not even his current self.

——

After staring at her for a while, Sean Bell snapped his fingers: "Fine, you say you don’t like him, so you don’t."

He finally let go of this point, for reasons unknown, allowing Thea Lynch to breathe a sigh of relief.

But before she could fully let out the sigh, he suddenly asked again, "So who do you like now?"

Thea Lynch had never been so eager to rush the dish, really wanting to shut Sean Bell’s mouth immediately.

"I don’t like anyone right now, is that answer satisfactory?"

"Oh." Sean Bell showed a flat reaction.

Thea Lynch didn’t know why he asked this, nor did she want to know. Quickly, she switched topics.

"Did you tell them about Nina Sinclair looking for me back then?"

"No." Sean Bell looked at her, his tone somewhat provoking: "Do you need me to? I can add that now; it’s easy enough to make a call."

"..." Thea Lynch completely lost interest in talking to him.

She turned her head to look out the window, unable to hide her annoyance. Sean Bell watched her with a smile; if their relationship were any worse, he believed Thea Lynch would surely get up and leave.

And maybe she’d even give him a slap on the way out.

He rarely showed a sense of tact, explaining to her: "Just joking, I never mentioned this to anyone. Although he’s my cousin, I’m not as close to him as Silas Cheney is. I’ve always been on your side."

Upon hearing this, Thea Lynch scoffed and looked at him again: "You?"

She truly didn’t believe it, probably Sean Bell himself wouldn’t believe it.

"If divided into two factions, you would definitely be recognized as the ’traitor’ most likely to defect."

"That’s fair, let’s take it as a compliment." Sean Bell wasn’t angry, mimicking her with a grin: "But I’ve always defected to your side. My brother’s side doesn’t lack just one of me, but your side is different."

"Considering what you said, given what my brother’s like, how would you compete with him anyway? Not to mention, he has Silas Cheney over there too. A wolf combined with a fox, one can eat you, one can sell you."

"Of course, second brother is definitely biased toward you without reservation, but you know his nature, playing mind games definitely won’t work. If you pick and choose, who’s left? You can only rely on me."

"Since we’re talking about it now, let’s not just talk about it. Let’s play something thrilling."

"What are you plotting now?"

"Do you want Stratus? Let’s join forces, and seize Stratus for ourselves, what do you say?"

"Do you know Stratus originally belonged to your brother?"

"I’ve heard a bit. That’s why I said it’s thrilling. Don’t you hate third brother quite a lot too? I’ll help you ’get revenge’."

"No way." Thea Lynch rejected coldly.

"Why, do you have even bigger ambitions than me? Stratus doesn’t satisfy you, so maybe you have your eyes on LX Capital?"

"..." A curse was already on the tip of her tongue, Thea Lynch was quite furious.

She thought Sean Bell was joking with her, sarcastically hinting that she was overreaching. But the next second, the person opposite suddenly said: "If that’s your goal, I can help you too."

"Sean Bell, are you crazy? Dragging me into this mess? Think my life is too long?"

Even if it were fake, let alone real, she didn’t dare to have such thoughts about LX. Besides, just she and Sean Bell, what could they possibly use to compete? They’d stand no chance.

LX Capital is Ian Preston’s work of years, it would really lead to bloody confrontations.

She already thought about how she would beg for forgiveness.

"I’ll pretend I didn’t hear this today, if you mention it again, then we won’t need to meet anymore."

Sean Bell: "So unwilling? You wouldn’t happen to know LX Capital was named after you, would you?"
