Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 25: Training Start
Adrian immediately chased after him but after running for a while he was surprised, he had expected to catch up in a few steps.
Instead the gap between them kept increasing, of course Adrian had been holding back.
He was confident in his own speed so he did not bother going all out from the start but he had underestimated the orc’s speed.
The old orc left a trail of dust behind, he was running much faster than a car. Adrian speed up as well.
The distance between them started closing, while this was not a surprise to him, it greatly surprised everybody else.
They all knew how fast this old orc was, he once outran a noble vampire, of course it was a baron but a noble vampire nonetheless.
Seeing Adrian keep up to him was too great a shock, however they didn’t know that Adrian was not even going all out.
Meggie knew he still had two other forms that give him more power and speed, she wondered if he could still keep up when using them.
Just as she thought that, the old orc’s body ballooned up, his legs and arms pulsed with muscles.
The ground cracked beneath his feet and he sprinted. Shards of stone were sent flying at Adrian who was running behind him.
Adrian followed, he sprinted to his full speed but still failed to catch up, mind you Adrian was now faster than two weeks ago.
After consuming the two hearts, one from the slug monster and the other from the vampire he grew stronger.
Not by much but still, for him to be left in the dust by this old man damaged his pride, he couldn’t allow it.
A low growl escaped his lips, his eyes and hair turned silver and large fangs grew in his mouth.
His speed shot up, unlike the orc’s it was not explosive, the ground did not crack nor explode.
His body simply blurred forward moving so fast the others besides Meggie could not even see him clearly.
No matter how fast the orc ran he could no longer outrun Adrian, the gap between them closed.
Adrian pounced, he jumped through the air like a wolf pouncing on prey and locked his arms around the old man’s neck.
They rolled on the ground and came to a stop, when the dust cleared Adrian appeared pressing the orc to the ground.
His piercing silver eyes glared at his like a beast looking at prey, the strong heartbeat pulsing with esper made Adrain salivate.
He took a deep breath, and transformed back to his normal form then ran back to Meggie.
" How’d I do?" He asked with excitement like a child waiting for his mother to praise him on a job well done.
Disappointingly Meggie simply walked off without saying anything. Adrain felt hurt but didn’t say anything.
The old man called Meggie to the barn, " What do you think of him?" She asked.
The old farmer sighed, after transforming he lost his hair. The hair was transplanted to begin with.
So he rubbed his bald smooth heard and sighed, " What is he?" He asked but Meggie kept quiet.
In fact her expression changed when he asked that question, realising he had asked the wrong question he laughed awkwardly.
" You want my honest opinion?" He asked and Meggie nodded, that’s why she had brought Adrian here.
" Dangerous, incredibly dangerous and powerful. When he looked at me, I felt like I was gazing at the eyes of the devil himself.
Even when I encountered that noble vampire in my younger days I did not feel such fear.
It was primal like being looked at by a higher lifeform, I’d be careful around him, whatever he is might be more dangerous than the ancient races themselves."
His answer made her smile instead, he wondered if she was crazy but he didn’t understand her joy.
Adrian was careless which is understandable for a seventeen year old who had just gotten powers.
He naturally feels powerful plus she could see this was his way of grieving, he did not have time to grieve properly.
He’s taking out his pain on other Fayera or Gadra, she knew she couldn’t really stop him.
Eventually he will just sneak out to do it, so being told he was strong made her a bit more relieved.
She already knew he was strong but she couldn’t accurately gauge his power, old man Berry on the other hand was different.
He had a lot of experience plus incredible senses, he can gauge the power of an opponent quite easily.
It was one of the reasons he had survived for so long. Him saying Adrian was dangerous was good thing.
However she also didn’t understand what he meant. Berry meant Adrian was dangerous for everybody.
Not simply because of his power but because of his nature. His instincts told him Adrian was an anomaly of existence.
However even he couldn’t be accurate about his nature. " If you want to know what the child truly is, I suggest you find one of your kind, a divination witch perhaps or one of the old ones."
Meggie frowned, dealing with divination witches was always a hustle, they were never direct, everything has to be a riddle.
Adrian’s mother Margaret was one such witch so she would rather not deal with them if she could.
Night came, the two of them were going to stay here for a while so they were given rooms to sleep in.
Tomorrow she planned to teach him how to control his esper. One of the things that terrified Berry was that Adrian couldn’t use esper but he was still stronger than him.
If Meggie told him Adrian had another form perhaps Berry would just faint or give up on life.
On top of using esper she planned to have Berry teach him martial arts, if he only relied on his abilities he would die the moment he met somebody as strong as he.
Berry was a master of martial arts, as an orc he was one of the weaker races with extremely limited potential.
Normally they can’t even control their esper but he broke all of those shackles with training.
Tomorrow came, Adrian woke up almost before everybody, he was too excited for training.
" So what are we doing? Fireball? Water arrow, wait wait, we’re not doing thunder bolt are we?" He sent a barrage of questions at Meggie.
Berry walked in right at that moment with a grin that reached his short ears. " Today boy, you’ll be my punching bag."
