Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Might Of Orc

The giant war axe took off the head of one of the Krabol. Before the others could react a gun rang out.

Pagu came behind Adrian carrying a rifle, blood spurted from the gun wound but the Krabol did not fall.

Killing these things with a single bullet was impossible unless you directly hit the brain but their skulls were very strong, normal bullets couldn’t pierce through them.

They ignored Pagu and pounced on Berry, berry looked like a beserker with a red aura around his body.

Each of his steps left deep footprints on the ground and each swing of his axe split the air apart.

The Krabol however were not pushovers either, they were fast and strong and their coordination made them a nightmare to fight.

There were sixteen of them including the pack leader making it hard for Berry to fight them by himself.

Fortunately Pagu was able to distract them with his gun. Unfortunately he was a terrible shot.

Adrian felt an itch as he smelled the blood, a desire to fight seemed to overwhelm him. He had long known that his species had volatile emotions and violent tendencies.

But seeing and smelling the blood of other Fayera made him want to go all out. However Meggie stopped him.

This was Berry’s fight, it would be rude if him to interfere without Berry asking so he stood and watched.

The Krabol were definitely faster than Berry, they circled around him like wolves and attacked from all sides.

His axe cut horizontally and he swung it in a circle, he hit the Krabol sending them crashing over a dozen metres away with bloody wounds.

Before he could attack again one Krabol jumped at him from behind, he turned to attack but another bit his arm.

One sunk its teeth on his shoulder making him grit his teeth from the pain. His muscles flexed and he swung his arm banging the Krabol bitting him to the ground.

It whimpered and before it could get up he cut its head off. Then he reached to grab the one on his shoulder only to find another going for his neck.

He swung his axe but it easily dodged it then ran to his back. Berry knew fighting so many would be hard.

However he did not expect it to be so hard, if other Orcs heard him they would curse him to the end of the world.

Orcs were naturally weaker than the Krabol, a single orc didn’t stand a chance against a Krabol in the same manner a human didn’t stand a chance against a tiger.

What he was doing was the equivalence of a normal human fighting sixteen fully grown tigers with just an axe.

A feat that would be spoken off in legends yet here he was complaining. While Berry was fighting Meggie kept frowning.

It looked like Berry was holding his own but the pack leader was yet to move. Pack leaders were smarter and stronger than other Krabol.

Once it took action, chances were, Berry will lose but she didn’t say anything. Berry continued fighting.

Fortunately for him, his body was covered in fat which provided some cushioning from their teeth and claws.

So while they were biting and scratching him, they still found it hard to reach his veins or organs.

Which is why they were aiming for the neck but he didn’t let them get close to it. His axe danced through the air creating giant gales.

Krabol foolish enough to get close met their doom or at the very least left with wounds. With the exception of the leader, every Krabol was covered in blood.

But so was Berry, one Krabol lunged at him but he grabbed it mid and threw it a dozen metres away.

Then he rammed his shoulder onto another, Adrain heard its bones break. It threw up blood and died before it could hit the ground.

The fight had been going on for more than 3 hours yet the pack leader was yet to attack. Berry looked exhausted.

His entire body was covered in blood, both his and that of his enemies. As for the Krabol, of the sixteen, only 9 remained alive.

A testament of their strength, even with Berry cutting them up with his axe, their vitality kept them alive.

However they hesitated now, Berry staggered back, the pack leader finally moved.

He lunged at Berry faster than the others ever could. However Berry had feigned weakness to bait them.

Still he did not expect the pack leader to be so strong, it would’ve been a match for him even when he was in peak condition.

Berry swung his axe in a wide arc but the Krabol side stepped and dodged then jumped at him.

Its giant paw landed on his chest and pressed him on the ground. Berry struggled to no avail.

It glared at him with red savage eyes then its teeth shone with purple light. This Krabol had awakened an ability.

It didn’t seem to be a strong ability but a Fayera with an ability was always stronger than one without.

It lunged for his neck with its teeth, if he had been at full strength he could’ve easily resisted and fought it on equal ground.

But after fighting for hours, he was exhausted and no longer had enough strength to fight against it.

Just as its teeth were about to sink into his neck it felt a tremendous force on its side, it body sailed through the air and rolled a dozen metres away.

Adrain appeared standing there with silver eyes and hair growling at it. Krabol had higher senses than orcs.

When they felt Adrian’s aura their first instinct was to run. Most people including Meggie thought the Krabol were just savages.

However that was not true at all, while it was true that they lost the ability to communicate and they did follow their instincts in their true form.

They do not lose their ability to think, they were still Fayera after all and not Gadras. The truth was they chose to let their savage side take over.

This reduced their fear and made them stronger. After evaluating their chances of winning.

They decided to retreat, the pack leader growled and they ran off leaving the corpses of the friends behind.

Adrain wanted to chase them but Meggie stopped him, she needed to heal Berry but she also couldn’t let Adrian out of her sight.

So he was forced to watch so many hearts run away. He turned and saw Meggie frowning and he knew things were bad.
