Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 58: First Case (2)

They met up with Rosa Sanchez at her favourite bar, she didn’t speak and just slid a folder to Adrain.

He passed it to Sam then they stood up and left, " I’ll contact you when it’s done." He whispered.

Sanchez sighed, she didn’t want to do this, she knew it was wrong but she had no choice, literally, she couldn’t control it.

The worst part was that Adrian had told her he could make her forgot, make her believe they had always been allies, that would’ve made things easier, it would’ve taken away the guilt.

But no, instead he allowed her to be aware of everything she’s doing, to retain her feelings but still fail to control her actions.

She drank a jug of beer like it was water then stood up and left.

Adrian and Sam also rushed back home, they couldn’t hide their excitement and immediately opened the folder.

Inside there was a picture of a young couple about the same age as he was, John and Suzie.

Two days ago they had went camping in the woods near the edge of town but didn’t come back.

Their friends and family went there to check on them but only found their camping gear, the two of them were nowhere to be found.

Adrain wondered why Sanchez gave them this, if it had only been two days then shouldn’t the cops still be looking?

He had told her to only give them cases the cops couldn’t or those she thought belonged to the supernatural world.

Then at the bottom she saw a note from her and understood, the higher ups has told her to abandon this case.

There was no explanation besides it was outside of their jurisdiction and she immediately understood why.

The folder also came with a plastic bag that had two pieces of clothing but when he saw them he frowned.

He had also requested she gave them things that belonged to the victims so he can track them through scent.

One of them was a dirty sock that smelled like a dead rats, with his heightened sense of smell, this sock was basically a bomb to his nose.

But it was better than the other, not because the other clothing smelled but because it was lingerie.

Adrain immediately felt uncomfortable about sniffing a woman’s underwear, not to mention the underwear was still wet and sticky.

Apparently whatever caught them caught them during the act. He used a pen to grab it and gave it to Sam.

He took it without a care in the world and sniffed it, his eyes turned grey and he growled.

Then put it in his pocket, Adrian immediately knew what had happened and he laughed, they ran out of the house and followed the scent.

" You’ve got to be joking man, just by sniffing her panties." Adrian commented and laughed.

" Shut up, What’s happening to me?" Sam asked.

" Mate’s bond, congratulations, you’ve just found the love of your life ahahaha." Adrain laughed so much he fell off the roof of a building.

" How does that even happen? What’s this mate’s bond?" Sam asked, he sounded agitated.

Unfortunately he couldn’t get the answers he wanted from Adrian.

" I couldn’t tell you shit about it, I have absolutely zero idea what it is actually, a curse maybe."

" Will..will my bonded mate respond to me?"

" You sniffed her panties, what do you think?"

Sam sighed, " This is fucked up." Adrain nodded.

" Have you found your mate?" He asked and Adrian nodded again.

" Who is she?" Sam asked.

" Not telling."

" It’s that Annie girl isn’t it?"

" Shhhhh." Adrian shushed him, they had reached the outskirts of the city near where the couple disappeared.

" Damnit." He cursed, this was the edge of the city, a step further and he would be out of its boundaries.

Meggie’s letter had warned him about that, he was inclined to listen to her, she sounded very serious in that letter.

" Dude, Why’d we stop?" Sam asked and Adrain explained.

" Oh, but I don’t have that issue though do I?" They decided, Sam would proceed alone from here on our.

Adrain sat down and waited and Sam left the boundaries of the city and headed towards the campsite.

When he got there, her scent grew stronger, overwhelmingly so. He started sniffing around.

Their scent led him in another direction, he followed them for a few hundred metres then things changed.

His nose caught a scent so vile it made him almost throw up, unfortunately his werewolf body seemed incapable of just vomiting at will.

The scent made him lose theirs, it was so strong it covered the entire area, he couldn’t even follow its direction.

He decided to retreat them he saw giant footprints on the ground and broken tree branches above.

He realised this creature must be very tall and humanoid based on the footprints. On one of the trees there was a patch of fur.

It was greyish black, he took it and retreated back to where Adrain was. Adrain took the patch of fur.

His nose twitched from the strong scent but after Sam explained what he saw, Adrian had an idea what they were dealing with.

" You can come out detective." Adrian shouted, Sam had also smelled her.

The detective came out wearing what looked like gym clothes and she had a leash on a yellow furred fluffy dog.

" You shouldn’t be here, it’s dangerous." He told her.

" I have fluffy don’t I? I want to help." Sam felt his eyes twitch.

" You named the hell hound fluffy?" He asked and she nodded like it was a normal name for a fell hound.

" It’s a good name." Adrian commented and Sam’s mouth twitched.

" Why are you standing here? Shouldn’t you be looking for them?" She asked.

" I don’t know, ask him." Adrian shifted the responsibility to Sam.

" I can’t leave the boundary of the city unless I want to draw trouble to myself and he lost their scent."

Sanchez sighed, " Fine but do you know what we’re dealing with?" She asked.

" It’s a Wendigo." Adrian whispered, " And based on the strength of its scent, it’s a old one, you can’t deal with it, not without me and I’m not going so we’re going back." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

The other two looked at each other, before Adrain could stop them they had left the boundary of the city.

" Yeah, you can’t stop using dude." Adrain didn’t react, then they realised he had expected them to do this.

" Be safe, don’t force me to leave the city yet."
