Demons Beside You-Chapter 586 - Private Property Is Inviolable
Chen Zhao vaguely remembered a biker gang harassing Fali and then they started fighting.
But fighting in a bar was pretty normal.
Instead, Chen Zhao remembered that he’d gotten beat up badly.
Of course, they all got taken to the police station in the end.
Chen Zhao didn’t really care about it.
Drinking some horse piss, losing your mind, and going to a pretty girl to ask for her number or treat her to a drink was an everyday thing at a bar.
Who would get into a blood rivalry over something like this?
Laurent tugged relentlessly on Asand’s patient uniform, insisting on him apologizing.
Chen Zhao just stood to the side and watched the show.
Karim, Kane, and Howard were speechless.
Chen Zhao was obviously just causing trouble.
And Laurent was always soft for his daughter.
When he heard this, his brain stopped working.
“You guys shut up.” A nurse came over and stood in the doorway. “Someone reported you guys for being too loud and disturbing the other patients.”
Those who reported them must be the patients in the same room.
Laurent finally let go of Asand.
After the nurse left, another group soon came from outside.
It was that Quincy and his underlings.
When Asand saw them, he instantly started yelling, “Get the f*ck out! Stop bothering me!”
But Quincy brought his men to the bed. “Mr. Asand, we come with sincerity. If you’re willing to compromise, we can pay you $100,000.”
“F*ck off. You *ssholes made me lay here for two months. I’ll have him rot in jail for two years.”
Reckless driving, a hit and run, and personal injury added together meant at least two years.
The perpetrator also broke traffic rules, so he would take most of the responsibility.
“Old thing, don’t go looking for trouble,” Maron yelled, pointing at Asand. “You’re lucky to get $100,000.”
Laurent frowned. “Get the f*ck out. You’re disturbing my friend.”
“You old…”
Just as Maron started talking, he was lifted from the ground.
Chen Zhao grabbed him with both hands, lifting him high in the air.
Quincy finally realized that Chen Zhao was here too.
“Sir, we meet again.”
“Yeah.” Chen Zhao smiled at him.
As expected, they weren’t good guys.
“Is Asand your friend?”
“It doesn’t matter. I don’t want him to be disturbed.”
“If you know Mr. Asand, why don’t you help me persuade him?”
Quincy maintained a gentle smile, but Chen Zhao felt like he was a toxic snake.
His smile didn’t make Chen Zhao feel any warmth. Instead, Chen Zhao was subconsciously guarded against him.
“What he decides is his right,” Chen Zhao said. “I don’t think any outsider has the right to force him to do anything.”
“Alright, Asand. I still hope you can think about it. One hundred thousand dollars isn’t a small sum, after all.”
“F*ck off, *ssholes.”
Asand’s reply was as straightforward as always. He also had rich body language, like his middle finger.
Quincy left with his men, shooting a glance at Chen Zhao before leaving.
“Who are they?” Laurent asked.
“I don’t know,” Asand said. “But they’re on the same side as the guy who ran into me. They came four or five times and keep hoping that I’ll drop the lawsuit.”
“They don’t look like a gang,” Laurent said.
“They’re not good people,” Asand said.
“Whatever, let’s stop caring about them. Chen, give Asand a checkup.”
“We decided that you’ll pay for the clinic, right?”
“Okay, okay. I don’t know what Fali sees in you,” Laurent complained.
“Asand’s condition is actually stabilized and doesn’t need any special treatment. He only needs to lay in bed for around two months and he can walk again.”
“No!” Asand cried out. “I don’t want to lay around for two more months. I don’t even want to stay for two more days.”
“Chen, can you make him walk faster?”
“Yes. It depends on how much you’re willing to pay.”
“What if it’s $100?” Laurent asked shamelessly.
“I can make him stay bedridden for life.” Chen Zhao rolled his eyes.
“Fine, what about $1,000?”
“He paid the hospital more than $1,000, right?”
“I don’t know how much I paid because I have insurance. Anyway, I already got $300,000 from this accident.”
No wonder Quincy offered $100,000 in compensation.
“Then $10,000,” Laurent said. “That’s all I have.”
“I can have him walk again within two weeks.”
“Can it be faster?” Asand asked.
“Then, add more money.”
“No,” Asand refused immediately.
Chen Zhao thought that he didn’t care about money, but he was a stingy guy too.
Just then, Kane suddenly patted Chen Zhao’s shoulder.
“What?”
“Chen, is that your car?” Kane pointed outside the window.
They could see the parking lot from here.
Chen Zhao saw that Quincy’s men were destroying his car at the moment.
Furious, Chen Zhao jumped out of the window.
“Chen, what are you doing?”
Chen Zhao jumped straight out.
Everyone in the room was floored.
This was the fourth level. He’d probably disable himself by jumping down.
Kane rushed to the window and saw that Chen Zhao had landed safely.
Chen Zhao was completely furious. He charged at the parking lot like a wild bull.
“Those guys are dead,” Laurent said.
Kane, Karim, and Howard had the same expression.
Those guys were practically committing suicide.
They didn’t know that they’d angered a lion.
Right now, Quincy stood to the side, still with his gentle smile.
He watched his men smash Chen Zhao’s car. Maron was working the hardest.
But then, Quincy felt a gust of wind and then a figure rushed into the group of people.
Thud!
Maron’s frail body shot into the air and flew meters away.
He smashed into the windshield of a car in the back, embedding into it entirely.
Everyone looked at Chen Zhao. There was a murderous look in his eyes.
“Quincy, you better give me an explanation.”
“Mr. Chen, do you know how long you’ll be sentenced for intentional harm?” Quincy still had that gentle smile.
“Then, do you know that there’s a law in America that states that private property is inviolable and killing is allowed?” A murderous intent flashed in Chen Zhao’s eyes.
A gun was pointed at the back of his head.
Quincy’s expression still didn’t change. He smiled at Chen Zhao. “If you die, then we’ll be able to tell the judge that it was self-defense.”
