Destroy My Life In You-Chapter 110: Little Riven

7 Months Later

"Ahhhh! Ahhhh!... Damn it! Alaric you bastard!" Ravenna’s cries echoed through labour room. They were a little, no, extremely loud that it scared the shit out of Alaric who was making a fuss outside.

"What’s happening to my wife? I need to go in there." If it weren’t for Finn and Zander holding him in place, he would have already barged in.

"calm down, she’ll be..."

"Alaric! I’ll kill you!" Finn was interrupted by another shriek from Ravenna.

Alaric froze then pushed both his brothers aside and went for the door. Just as he was about to head in, a nurse walked and they almost collided.

"Your Majesty," she greeted with a slight bow then added, "I think Her Majesty needs... you." By the time the nurse was completing her statement, Alaric was already standing beside Ravenna.

When Ravenna saw him, her anger got worse. She and cursed and cursed threatening to never let him touch her again. Even the doctors inside couldn’t help but secretly smile watching their King a slave to his Queen. Because, the only thing Alaric did was to reach out to her hand and nod at every insult and curse.

After what felt like lifetime, a cry erupted in the room, and every other sound fell. Even Ravenna who was ’dying’ from labour pain went silent. All attention was on the ne born being held by the doctor.

"Congratulations, My King and Queen. We have a prince." The doctor announced.

Alaric stood up, a smile slowly finding its way on his face. He was a father. He was someone’s father. Stuck in this sweet realization, he almost shed tears but held himself back. Only his wife was allowed to see his emotional version.

The doctor coughed feeling somehow awkward at this sight, but he erased it by handing over the little one to his father. Alaric slowly took the boy in his arms, carefully and gently holding him, as if he would break if he wasn’t careful enough.

"He has my eyes," he subconsciously said, unblinkingly staring at the baby, who had just opened his black eyes and was now staring at the person holding him.

"Let me see him," Ravenna’s hoarse but emotional voice caught Alaric’s attention. The man nodded and sat beside her. Slowly, he placed the child in Ravenna’s arms. The family of three forgot about everything and everyone else and got lost in their little world. "He really has your eyes. Very beautiful."

"Of course. After all, his father’s genes are quite powerful."

The two chuckled silently, then Alaric placed a lingering kiss on her forehead.

"Thank you, wife. For making me the happiest man on earth right now."

Ravenna smiled at his words. "Thank you too. For always being by my side even when I was being an asshole."

"Language, love. Our son is listening."

"Oops. I have to fu... Oh shi... I mean, I have to mind what I say now that I’m a fuc... Damn it! Is there some kind of deliverance for this thing?"

Laughter filled the room as the two stared at each other, their glances enough proof of their undying love. A flame that was ignited centuries ago and even after being blown off by strong winds, it still found away to rekindle. Never before, not now, not ever, will that ever die.

Hours later, the entire family members had filled the room Ravenna was transferred to.

"Wow! He’s so... cute." Zeke said in a whisper, staring at the baby sleeping in his crib.

"I know. I want to have a son too," Seth whispered back, giggling like a child.

"You wish. Get a wife first then start dreaming." Zeke scoffed, then shifted to the little one and started giggling too.

"Says the one who’s been sleeping with every slut in..."

"Will you shut you both or should I throw you out!" Alaric roared, though not too loudly, glaring at the two.

Zeke and Seth recoiled in fear and walked away from the little one, leaving only Zander and Luke standing there.

"You haven’t told us his name yet," Zeke asked, as he made his way towards the new parents.

Ravenna smiled then replied, "His name is Riven."

"Riven? Doesn’t it mean something like... split or torn apart?" It was Seth who asked, now sitting beside Ravenna on the other side of the bed.

Ravenna nodded. "It does. But we did not name him because he’s broken, but because he came from meeting points of two worlds. Mine and Alaric’s. He’s a reminder that even from ruin, something beautiful could be born. Despite Alaric being the Vampire King and me being the Primal Alpha, we love and trust each other, and our little Riven is the proof of that."

Seth took a deep breath and held Ravenna’s hand. "That’s so beautiful."

"It is. There’s also another reason. Riven is also derived from both his parents’ names. ’Ri’ is from Alaric and ’Ven’ is from Ravenna. Isn’t that also beautiful?" This time, it was Alaric who said it.

Seth froze then unhurriedly raised up his head. "What now? Want to chase me away again?" Seth asked, trying as much not to sound annoyed, but he clearly was.

"I will if you don’t get your hands off my wife."

"She’s my sister."

"Seth!"

Seth went quiet.

Ravenna sighed shaking her head, but was inwardly happy. For the past seven months, a lot of things had changed. But most especially Alaric. He was less cold and aloof than before. He could have normal conversation with others. He could argue with them, or precisely, Seth. Their feud started when Seth started becoming over attentive of his sister. And Alaric being the super possessive husband, he wouldn’t share his wife with anyone.

But Seth would not pay heed to the man’s words and they were always like­­-

"Sis, let me help you to your room."

"Don’t touch my wife."

"Sis, let me get your food."

"I’ll take care of MY wife."

"Sis, let’s go see the doctor."

"Stay away from my wife or I’ll kill you."

And every time, Ravenna would just leave them caught up in their argument. She was happy that Alaric had learnt to live for himself. Looking at everyone, she realized that some people were missing.

"Where are Finn and Nyx? Also, Isla is not here too."

Zeke sighed then lazily replied, "Probably, Finn is busy trying to look for Nyx and is busy running away from Finn. As for Isla, you can ask Luke."

Everyone turned to Luke except Alaric who cared about anyone else but his wife. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"Where’s Isla, Luke?" Ravenna asked.

Luke slowly turned around but didn’t meet Ravenna’s eyes. He was clearly guilty of something.

"Did you break up with her?" Ravenna added.

"Whoa! He did?" Zeke asked excitedly.

"How? Did she leave you and did you leave her?

"She must have left him!"

Ravenna hissed glaring at both Zeke and Seth. "If any of you open his mouth, I’ll let Alaric deal with you." She warned then instantly focused her attention on Luke. "Where’s Isla?"

Luke swallowed before replying, "She... broke up with me."

Everyone fell silent for a moment before freaking Zeke forgot Ravenna’s warning.

"I fucking knew it!"
