DEVIANT-Chapter 393 - Silver’s Sacrifice
393 Silver’s Sacrifice
“If we are destined to conquer the heavens together, how can we be afraid of a mere sanctuary?” Little Alex said and Creed smiled to show his support.
Silver looked at the two kids and sighed.
Wait…
They are no longer kids since they have lived for over a thousand years but in his eyes, they are still the same kids Alex entrusted him with so he was reluctant to put them in danger by dragging them into a place like this.
Silver had little or no information about this place and that’s why he insisted on coming with them. He wasn’t the type to go into things without prior preparation and this made him feel disturbed. 𝘧𝗿𝐞𝐞𝒘𝗲𝘣n𝘰𝘷ℯ𝒍. 𝒄o𝗺
Without hesitation the trio walked into the sanctuary and as expected the doors of the sanctuary shut behind them, locking them in but the trio didn’t even bother looking back.
They began climbing the stairs and for an hour were still climbing. Only after climbing for this long did they notice the stairs lit up and the world trembled around them.
Silver looked up and saw a lone figure walking from the mighty stairs. It was a human with long white hair and a smiling face. Just like silver, he wore ancient robes but the strange thing about this man was that his eyes were always closed and he always had a wide smile on his face, making him look strange.
Looking at this man, Silver felt disturbed because he couldn’t see any form of energy circulation around him or power, the man was just plain like any mortal man.
.....
“You are the sons of Alex Briggs and you are the brother of Danny Ainsworth… All five of you have my deepest respect… unfortunately, you all will die today” The man laughed.
Buzzz!
Hearing his words Silver, Little Alex and Creed frowned deeply. This was the first time a deity spoke about the few people that have left them behind in this mortal world. The fact that this man knew about them was enough to tell he was not normal.
“You know my father?” Creed asked with a casual look on his face.
“Your father and your uncle barely survived a battle with me moments ago. They were badly hurt and had to flee… together they are amazing but I am the first god to ever exist, they never stood a chance.… considering their condition, it won’t be surprising to find out that they died from their injuries or they got killed by a God beast… healing from injuries dealt by me is not easy” The man said with a mischievous smile which sent shivers down the spine of everyone present.
Buzzz!
The trio paled at these words as they felt immense rage overwhelm them. To think Danny who ascended just a few years ago would be out in a bad condition by this man.
“You…. Who are you” Silver said as he left Creed and Little Alex behind while approaching the man.
This time, he had to deal with this man alone. That was one thing he was sure of now. After listening to the man, he finally understood the reason why he couldn’t see the energy of the enemy.
It’s not because it wasn’t there but because he has seen it before.
The barrier covering the entire planet was not a barrier but one man’s aura.
It explains a lot now, why a sanctuary meant for gods would be just one.
Now it made sense that this sanctuary was not meant for gods but a god.
The God
“A mortal seeks to know my name? If it were any other group I wouldn’t be so forgiving but since your small cult has impressed the gods I will give you a name. They call me Reboot God… the deity who gives life and takes it. The one true God” Reboot God said calmly with a strange smile which made me let out a bitter smile.
“I made a mistake bringing these kids here. I hope Alex will be able to forgive me for this” Silver said with a bitter smile.
He turned and looked at Creed and Little Alex, he revealed a sweet smile that they have never seen before.
“Take our forces and leave, this man is not someone any of you can afford to deal with, you will only slow me down. Don’t worry I will be right behind you” Silver said leaving the duo stunned.
Wasn’t Silver okay with letting them join him now to fight off the enemy?
“Lying for the sake of others. A sentiment only humans share. Who would have thought a mere consciousness is capable of feeling emotions” Reboot God said.
“Unfortunately, you cannot leave here once you enter” Reboot God added with a smile.
Hmph!
“Whoever Silver Ainsworth chooses to protect, not even God can harm them. Alex entrusted me with the lives of his kids. If I let them die, how would I dare pray to him as a mortal in my next life?” Silver said.
“Don’t forget, I am still one-half of the invincible duo!” Silver said as his eyes let out a bright flash.
Buzzz!
A pillar of silver aura tore through the golden aura surrounding the entire planet.
Huh?
The reboot god was stunned as he felt his power getting pushed back but it was almost noticeable that’s why he was stunned.
“Leave!” Silver said coldly as hands moved in a circular motion and two spatial holes were torn open behind the two juniors, creating an intense suction force pulling Creed and Little Alex.
“When you get to see your dad again, tell him uncle silver made a stupid mistake but I didn’t fall easily!” Silver said calmly, not bothering to show the duo his face again.
Only now did the two understand what was going on but it was too late. They were late in mustering enough power to resist Silver’s strength and got pulled into the spatial holes.
They could only watch the fluttering silver robes and cried out but the sound of the clashing energy of Silver and the Reboot God was too loud.
Swoosh!
The Reboot God was stunned by what happened. It just declared that none of them would leave but Silver went ahead to send the two away after claiming no god can harm who he wishes to protect.
Be it silver
Or Danny
Or Alex
These three always found a way of proving him wrong…
They always find a way to mock him….
They always find a way to break his commandments….
“I will end you and go after them,” The Reboot God said coldly, the smile on its face almost fading. The reason it couldn’t fade completely was simply that it was the smiling God, it must always smile…
“A deity cannot exist too far from his sanctuary unless he decides to use gods descent. But constraining your powers to the level of mortals to fight those two is suicide and we both know that. Your only chance of catching them is if you can get past me now and not a minute later…” Silver said with a smile but as soon as he was done speaking his facial expression turned as cold as ice.
“Even if I am the weakest mortal in the world, I refuse to believe I cannot keep you here for an entire minute!” Silver sneered.
Buzz!
The Reboot God was stunned as immense killing intentions washed past him, sending chills down his spine. Outside Danny and Alex, no other mortal has dared to direct his killing intent against him! Not even other gods more powerful than Danny and Alex dare to do so!
“Blasphemy!” The Reboot God still had a smile on his face even though a smile remained on his face.
Reboot core: Happy Buddha!
A golden mighty Buddha whose face was above the clouds emerged but even in the presence of this mighty being with a divine aura, Silver kept climbing stairs at a slow but steady pace.
He has lived a tough life but he survived and made the best out of it.
He has fought against the heavens and pushed them back to this point where the supreme deity had to show himself…
He has fought alongside two of the newest deities in the heavens and he has trained the next two who will most likely ascend. As a man, he was proud of his achievements.
He may have failed to make it to the realm of Gods in this life, but maybe in the next life, he will be able to do so…
Will Alex and Danny recognize him?
Will they look for his reincarnated version when they realize he is gone?
Lots of thoughts ran through his mind but he felt happy. He felt happy he can finally go all out and go to rest.
“I SILVER AINSWORTH SWEAR TO CHALLENGE THE GODS IN THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
Silver’s laughter resounded across the world and heavens for all to hear and bear witness to it!
