Devoted Love:The Billionaire's Precious Wife-Chapter 577
Chapter 577: Chapter 577
"No need, Grandma."
"Take it."
With Serena right beside them, Belinda didn’t say much and forcefully stuffed the little wooden box into Rosemary’s hands.
"Check it out when you get home."
"Thanks, Grandma." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Rosemary then turned to Louisa and the rest. "Shall we get going?"
"Mom, take care of yourself. We’ll visit whenever we can." Louisa’s voice wavered with emotion as she bid her mother goodbye.
Kenneth reminded her of a few things, his eyes welling up with tears.
David couldn’t help but tease, "Come on, it’s not like we’re saying goodbye forever. If you miss us, fly over to visit, or we’ll fly over to see you. It’s just a twelve-hour journey."
"You little rascal." Louisa chuckled at his antics.
"Grandma, I’m leaving now. Don’t forget to watch my concert online!" David laughed.
"Alright, alright, I’ll watch it on the surveillance camera."
Belinda, unable to get out of bed, could only watch them leave via surveillance cameras.
The private jet sat on the grass just outside the villa.
Sampson personally escorted them to the aircraft stairs, reminding Rosemary before she boarded, "Don’t hesitate to visit, and I’ll find time to visit you too. Call or text us when you’re free."
"Sure, Uncle Sampson. Goodbye."
"Goodbye."
Rosemary paused at the top of the aircraft stairs, waved towards the camera, and gave her grandmother a parting smile.
Belinda, who was watching the surveillance feed, felt her eyes moisten at this heartwarming gesture.
Rosemary held the wooden box as she entered the private jet’s lounge and sat down on a single-seater sofa.
Serena couldn’t help but steal glances in her direction.
She was curious about what Grandma had given Rosemary and why she couldn’t open it in front of everyone.
Was it something of great value, afraid that she, an "outsider", would see?
Rosemary sensed her gaze and simply put the wooden box into her backpack, closing her eyes to rest.
Twelve hours later.
The jet landed on the landing strip at Reflections Villa. As soon as Rosemary disembarked and her phone was turned on, she was greeted with over a dozen missed calls and more than twenty unread messages.
All saying the same thing.
Logan and Taylor had been in an accident and were currently in critical condition.
Crystal, in an attempt to save them, had been tarnished and was severely injured, hanging on by a thread.
"Rose, hurry over," Clark’s voice message to Rosemary was choked with emotion. "Hope Hospital, third floor."
"Hurry."
"Dad, Mom, I’ll be back shortly." Rosemary immediately ran towards the garage.
"Where are you going?" Before Louisa could react, her daughter was already far away.
In the blink of an eye, a red sports car sped out of the garage, its speed astonishing.
"What’s going on?" Kenneth looked puzzled, watching Rosemary’s disappearing car. "It’s late, and she’s driving so fast. It’s not safe."
"Honey, I have a bad feeling." Louisa instinctively grasped Kenneth’s hand, asking worriedly, "Do you remember when Grannie Grace had a heart attack? Rose drove just as fast. Could something have happened to someone we know? Is that why Rose is in such a hurry?"
"Don’t scare yourself," Kenneth reassured her, though he also felt somewhat worried. "We’ll ask her when she gets back."
Serena stood by, slightly displeased. Even if Rosemary had some business to attend to, it didn’t warrant rushing off immediately after landing.
Who was she trying to impress by acting so busy?
It was nearly nine in the evening.
What could be so urgent?
She just wanted to gain her parents’ attention, didn’t she?
Serena saw right through it!
Rosemary’s sports car pulled a slick drift, coming to a stop directly in front of the emergency department of the hospital. Rushing out of the car, she just made it to the third-floor corridor when she heard Carol’s cries.
Carol was crying so hard she could barely stand. Two stretchers were right in front of her, the bodies covered with white sheets.
Carol was weeping on the sheets, while Clark tried to comfort her, his eyes welling up with tears.
Rosemary stopped dead in her tracks, realizing she was too late. Logan and Taylor were already gone.
"Mom, Dad." Carol’s heart-wrenching cries echoed in the corridor.
Doctors and nurses silently bowed their heads, helpless to do anything.
"Their condition was critical when they were brought in. They had lost too much blood. They had already passed the golden hour for treatment," the surgeon explained.
"My sister could’ve saved them!" Clark started to say, but seeing Rosemary standing nearby, he quickly corrected himself. "Rose, Crystal is still in there. They’re trying to save her!"
Rosemary nodded, stepping into the changing room to don her scrubs.
The doctors at Hope Hospital were well aware of her skills. They quickly briefed her on Crystal’s condition, which was dire. There wasn’t a single part of her body that wasn’t injured.
"I think she was trying to say something."
"Dr. Rose, you know as well as we do that all our attempts to save her are in vain."
With such severe injuries, there was no chance of survival. It was better to let her leave some final words.
"As long as there’s a glimmer of hope, we can’t give up."
Despite knowing Crystal’s chances of survival were slim, the sight of Clark with red-rimmed eyes and Carol’s heart-wrenching cries were etched into Rosemary’s mind.
Outside the operating room.
Crystal’s parents rushed in. Hearing the severity of their daughter’s injuries, they couldn’t help but ask Clark, "What happened?"
"Alger, Celeste, it’s all my fault," Clark confessed with guilt.
"What happened between you guys? And who is she?" Mrs. Alger asked, pointing at the crying girl next to them, her confusion and anxiety obvious.
"Crystal got injured while trying to protect my parents. I’m really sorry." Carol stood up, bowing deeply to them, her tears flowing unchecked. "I’m sorry."
"Who are you?" Mr. Alger had never seen her before.
At this moment, the elevator doors opened, and Kenneth and Louisa rushed out, followed by Serena.
Mr. and Mrs. Alger had called them, saying Crystal was in an accident, and it seemed to involve Clark.
Hearing that her condition was critical and life-threatening, they hurriedly drove over, praying non-stop for Crystal’s safety.
"She’s my girlfriend, Carol."
Hearing this, the three people who had just stepped out of the elevator were instantly stunned, disbelief written all over their faces.
Mr. and Mrs. Alger were also taken aback.
The girl who was bowing to them turned out to be Clark’s girlfriend.
Clark had a girlfriend?
Their precious daughter was severely injured and life-threatening, trying to save the parents of Clark’s girlfriend.
"What exactly happened?" Mr. Alger grabbed Clark by the collar, demanding an answer.
