Chapter 29: Stay or Leave

[Hidden Quest Completed]

Noa didn’t get time to question what the quest was.

Another system panel materialized quickly and explained everything.

[Reward: Feature Unlocked — Choice Archive]

[Every time you make a major decision, it will be saved in a "Past Choices" menu. Only you and your subscribers can revisit these key moments and watch them as highlights.]

Noa knew one or two things about streaming.

But the system had shaped his entire career much differently from other streamers.

When he tried to find his previous profile, there was nothing. No matter what he tried, the old username OvertimeOrc was nowhere to be found.

He couldn’t even find a single clip of his streams.

Yet, the fact that people from Earth were watching him didn’t change. It was as if his identity as a streamer existed only when he was live.

This new feature proved that. Well, kind of.

Because there were no highlights of his streams and no VODs either, no one could really watch what he experienced in this world.

But this was about to change.

’My life is becoming even more video game-like,’ he lamented with a smile.

Having the option to look into his actions again and again sounded like a feature only digital worlds could offer.

’Not anymore, I guess.’

As Noa followed the old man Galio out, the subscribers noticed an additional tab on their stream overlay.

gothlover: What’s this? Am I the only one who can replay the highlights?

The first notice was quickly lost in rows of messages the chat was flooded by. But when more subbers discovered something unexplored, they quickly shared the news.

Slowly, the information got out, and the viewers with no access to it got jealous.

The effect was immediate.

Although the feature wasn’t groundbreaking, they didn’t want to be left in the dark. What’s more, revealing the username was a bonus they were willing to spend some cash on.

"Where are we going?" Noa asked the priest.

He was also looking at the chat and the system messages, a sly grin spreading across his face.

[Current viewers: 120]

There was no quest requiring him to reach a specific viewer count. But the higher his count, the faster he collected SP.

Speaking of SP, Noa had more than 200 after summoning the dragon—more than enough for one more gacha pull. Still, he didn’t want to do that.

Yes, he now had over 500 Streamer Points, but showing too much on a single stream wasn’t worth it.

Gacha pulls should be a rare experience.

If he did it every time he had enough SP, it would quickly get boring.

But if he were to show it perhaps once per stream, the excitement it generated wouldn’t fade so quickly.

There was one more thing.

[Level: 3]

[Sub Progress: 15/50]

Noa was getting closer to his next level, which meant a guaranteed stream feature of something of equal value.

And even though he wanted to browse the market and pick up a few goodies, speaking with Galio and deciding his next move was far more important.

The baby dragon wriggled in his hands after he left the house.

It was the creature’s first time seeing nature up close. So it let out a soft squeak, wanting to explore more.

Galio, however, finally stopped.

Short wooden houses and fences stretched behind.

Despite that, there were no other signs of life around the settlement.

"You must decide what you intend to do in this world. Will you stay here, train how to use relics and raise the beast under my watch, or do you want to leave this place?" Galio said suddenly, not answering Noa’s question.

Noa hesitated.

A peaceful life in this safe place didn’t sound too bad.

There was no danger around, and looking after the dragon would be so much easier.

But it would be boring. Boring for him and the viewers as well. There wasn’t much he could show in this hidden settlement, and being entertaining alone wouldn’t take him far.

It wasn’t like he had any actual training to do.

Even that would get boring eventually.

Seeing Noa’s silence, Galio knew what was going on in his head.

"You are no ordinary wanderer. Being an outsider in this world is no longer prestigious. Monsters might not exist, but sometimes humans are far more terrifying. We didn’t win the war against them for nothing."

Suddenly, the choice became harder.

After all, it was about his life, and for someone who was just transporting packages only a week ago, the threat was too dangerous to handle alone.

The chat, meanwhile, pleaded for him to leave.

They didn’t think too much of life, especially as they still assumed it was nothing but a game.

There was no need for polls.

Everyone wanted him to explore more of this world, and he didn’t want to lower his head in fear.

The system gave him an opportunity, and he would use it.

"Sorry to break it to you, old man, but I am not staying in your smelly village. I am going, and I am taking—" Noa stopped suddenly.

The dragon was gnawing at his sleeve again.

Its teeth, though sharp, still lacked the strength to hurt him.

But it had no name, and Noa wanted to change that.

He ignored Galio’s watchful gaze and whispered to the chat, asking for suggestions. "Any badass name ideas for my child?"

Viewer_22: Call it Pixie.

Redpeper69: Bruh, you should name it Drakonis.

Viewer_41: I vote Ashbane. Sounds badass.

The stream was flooded with ideas. Names associated with genitals were thrown around more than once, but Noa ignored them all. "You guys are... idiots."

Someone even recommended Beer as a name.

But after pinching the bridge of his nose and careful, yet quick consideration, Noa came up with something. "This little guy shall be named..."
