Chapter 359: Fountain of Youth!?

Once Wayland seemed to finish his story, Casper felt free to ask his questions.

"Man... How old are you? I mean, it happened centuries ago, right?" His eyes were different when looking at Wayland now. He wasn’t sure if that guy was a man or not.

"How unpolite of you~. I don’t age, my buddy. That’s what Indigo Energy can do when used right!"

Casper gasped once he heard that. Of all uses that he could think of to Indigo Energy, he never would think about such a thing.

"I-Is it the Fountain of Youth or something!?"

Wayland raised one brow but didn’t mind the weird expressions that the White warrior was doing.

"No, it’s not a... a fountain. It doesn’t even make sense. Why a fountain? That’s unreasonable."

"It’s just a tale from my world, don’t mind."

"Your world has weird tales... Do they really tell these kinds of things to the kids? What a shame..."

Casper stared at him, annoyed.

’This guy didn’t even hear the tale. Tsk.’

The soldier decided to go serious instead of just asking nonsense, so he cleaned his throat.

"Ok, then... The same goes for Leif? He doesn’t age just like you? Also, how can Indigo Energy possibly do such a thing?"

Wayland, in the middle of his storytelling, stood from the chair and began to walk around. Now, he was stretching since he felt his back a bit stiff.

"Well, I will answer the last question first since it will take less time... Indigo Energy is something that you are well acquaintanced with nowadays, right?"

Casper nodded to him. He had seen quite a few things that could be done using that energy. They were all amazing things, but he could never imagine that eternal youth was something that it could give.

"Listen, Casper, I am an expert when it comes to Indigo Energy. I know how to manipulate it well and utilize its properties for different purposes. However, I am not the only one who can deal with it since there are Healers like Rurik who could find the curative properties of Indigo Energy, also as the blacksmiths and the other Aesirs. Anyway, the Healers are enough to start my explanation for now.

"As you may have noticed by seeing a Healer entering into action, they have equipment and techniques that can unlock these properties in Indigo Energy, allowing them to use it to cure diseases and heal wounds.

"However, this curative factor of this energy has a lot more potential than just curing someone with break bones, exploded organs, massive concussion and cutting damage in just some days. In truth, that’s not even 50% of it."

Casper came from a world where treatment for these same casualties could last months. A period of just some days was usual to cure diseases such as a cold or something like that.

Nobody could ever imagine a situation where someone who got seriously injured after a battle in an accident would leave the hospital in a couple of days. It was unreal, something that came from a sci-fi story.

"J-Just 50%...?" He muttered, lost and flabbergasted. "If 50% can do this much, I wonder what 100% will be able to do... I have a guess, but that’s so terrifying that I don’t even want to say it out loud, so it won’t become true." He admitted.

Wayland saw Casper’s troubled face and chuckled.

"No. I am not talking about what you are thinking now. If you are expecting something like reliving the dead, you are completely wrong in your guess. After all, not even Indigo Energy can touch the soul of human beings. It is something far beyond our comprehension... We tried to do it some times, but we just got disappointed with the results, and such experiment was what made the Midwest Battle get triggered."

The White warrior got alarmed when the Forger said about the Midwest Battle. It was something that happened on the same day when he arrived.

"Midwest battle? Was it supposed to be used for some kind of experiment?"

"Not the battle itself, but the deaths that could come with it. The more people dying that they have, the more chances they will get to make a Draugr. A being without a soul, nor will, nor emotions. It is something like a zombie in your culture.

"Anyhow, returning to the explanation, Indigo Energy isn’t used at its max potential in any field, and the medical field isn’t an exception. Nobody can know what this energy will do in its 100% of potential, and it seems to not know any boundaries, so we suppose that its strength is almost infinite.

"I suppose that I could take 70% of its potential when inserting it on my body and inheriting eternity and longevity. I am not immortal. I will die from aging at some point. But it can last more than a millennium to happen."

Casper now understood what the guy did.

Just like some strong people could input Indigo Energy within their bodies, so they would get far stronger than a normal human being, one could nourish their bodies with a constant supply of energy and prevent its cells to be affected by time.

"Now, about King Leif... No, he doesn’t have the same condition as me. That guy leading you all nowadays is the son of Leif VI. He is Leif VII. There were several other generations of kings.

"However, that’s not something good. I wanted Leif to take the same medicine that I did to me, so we wouldn’t die by natural diseases, but he had other plans for this district. Let’s say that the question he made on a certain day is the only thing that I disrespect about him." As he said it, Wayland’s eyes got aloof and his expression became grim.

Casper prepared himself for a new whole bunch of information. Thankfully, Yanke was beside him to help in memorizing and staying alert.

"Well, it happened after I created the masks. It was a joyful day for District 42..."
