Queen Lamia's form slowly dissolved into countless motes of light, fading like dust carried away by a silent breeze. The glow drifted through the endless white plane until nothing of her remained — not even her voice.

Axton stood there quietly for a moment, staring at the spot where she had been. Her final words still echoed faintly in his mind.

He had many questions he wanted to ask her — about this place, about the power she'd granted him, and even about what she meant by the Holy Light and the Warrior of Fate. But she was gone now, leaving behind only the faint warmth of her presence and two brilliant items that hovered gently before him.

"...So these are the gifts, huh?" he murmured, his tone a mix of awe and curiosity.

The two items floated in front of him like treasures forged by the heavens themselves. One shone with a pale golden radiance, its edges glowing faintly like sunlight reflected off water. The other was covered in a dark veil of shadow, so deep it almost looked alive.

Axton's eyes were naturally drawn to the first item — a shield.

He reached out and grasped it firmly. It felt solid, surprisingly light for something that looked so durable. The surface was polished, etched with unfamiliar runes that glowed faintly under his touch.

"Hmm."

He turned it over in his hands, analyzing the structure like he always did with new loot. The design was flawless — balanced weight, sturdy grip, and even a faint hum of divine energy that resonated with his mana. Axton didn't need a second guess. This wasn't an ordinary piece of gear.

And just like that, he felt the surge — the familiar rush that came when his Critical Upgrade effect activated.

Ding!

[Critical Upgrade activated.]

[Item quality enhanced.]

[You have received the Aegis Shield (Legendary)]

A golden light exploded outward as the runes on the shield flared to life, growing more intricate and radiant. The item seemed to hum, almost as if it were alive.

Axton's lips curved upward. "That's more like it."

He quickly pulled up the item's information window.

[Aegis Shield]

[Grade: Legendary]

[Level: 40]

[Effect: +600 Defense]

[Skills: Sanctification, Protection of the Holy Light]

"Hmm…" he muttered again, rubbing his chin. "Sanctification and Protection of the Holy Light. Sounds… fancy."

Curiosity won out, and he opened the first skill description.

[Skill: Sanctification]

[Rank: Mythical]

[Description: The Holy Light purifies your body, granting absolute immunity to Curse and Poison Magic or Techniques, cleansing all impurities. (Cooldown: 2 minutes)]

[Drawbacks: Consumes 1000 mana points. Requires Level 40 to use.]

Axton blinked. Then, after a short pause, he burst into laughter.

"A Mythical skill? What the hell!" he exclaimed, still chuckling.

He wasn't exaggerating. The Mythical rank was no joke. It was the third strongest rank for a skill, right behind the Sacred and then, the Divine rank — which was at the top.

"Unbelievable…" he said under his breath. "A Legendary shield with a Mythical skill? That's just broken."

The only other Mythical-ranked thing he owned was the Frost Heart, and that was a passive core item he had absorbed, granting him Ice Element mastery. This, however, was different. This was an actual usable skill — one that could change battles entirely.

If Sanctification was real, then curses, poisons, and all those annoying debuffs from higher-tier monsters would mean absolutely nothing to him.

Smiling to himself, Axton scrolled to the next skill.

[Skill: Protection of the Holy Light]

[Rank: Mythical]

[Level Requirement: 40]

[Description: Enshrouds the user in divine light, granting total protection against all attacks, including those from gods, for 5 seconds. (Cooldown: 5 minutes)]

[Drawbacks: Consumes 1000 mana points.]

[Note: Skill can be upgraded to Level 60. Each level increases duration by 5 seconds and mana cost by 100 MP.]

Axton's eyes gleamed as he read through the text.

"Even divine attacks, huh?"

He couldn't help but grin widely. For five whole seconds, he would be untouchable — not just from mortals or monsters, but even from gods and divine beings.

That kind of protection was priceless!

He imagined himself standing in front of the Goddess of Fate or another divine entity, their strongest attack crashing down while he simply stood there, untouchable and calm. Just thinking about it made him laugh.

"Two mythical skills in one shield… This thing's insane," he said with satisfaction. "Completely worth it."

He studied the note again. Upgradeable up to Level 60. That meant, at maximum, he could have nearly two full minutes of invincibility. In a game where even a second could decide life or death, that was beyond powerful.

"Yeah… this is definitely staying with me for a long time," he murmured, equipping the shield. The golden light of the Holy aura briefly enveloped him before fading, leaving only a faint shimmer over his armor.

He rotated his arm slightly, testing the shield's balance. It felt good — almost perfectly attuned to his body. Axton could feel the faint pulse of the Holy Light inside of him.

"Guess I'll just have to get used to it," he said under his breath.

Satisfied, Axton turned his attention to the second gift Queen Lamia had left for him.

Floating in front of him was a black piece of cloth — smooth, light, and cold to the touch. Unlike the radiant Aegis Shield, this item radiated an aura of darkness. It was eerie, yet strangely calm, as though death itself was sleeping inside it.

Ding!

[You have received: Death Sheet]

Axton tilted his head. "Death Sheet?"

It wasn't much to look at — just a dark shroud-like fabric that seemed to drink in all light around it. But he had learned long ago not to judge an item by appearance. If the Queen had given it to him, it had to be special.

He brought up the details, scanning its stats quickly. It was marked as a Unique rank item. That was good — but not good enough for him.

"Well," Axton said with a smirk, "let's see what happens if I push you a little higher."
