Divine Emperor of Death-Chapter 2614: Regrouping With Ellia
Davis looked at the spatial ring that the black-robed assassin held in his palm as though presenting him with much deference. Being addressed as the Junior Master also didn't feel right to him, but he stretched out his hand and took the spatial ring.
Within it, he found a status badge of the Ghost Tear Hall, as expected. He believed that it was a traceless one as there was no karmic reaction after binding it. Nonetheless, he was also shocked to find a few hundred death-attributed immortal crystals! Furthermore, there were even a few death attributed to Immortal Crystal Vein Fragments!
'What the... this Deathseeker is trying to show off the benefits of becoming his disciple?"
However, Davis couldn't help but wonder where exactly Deathseeker was getting these resources. Had he found a special location, or was it the Ghost Tear Hall that was in possession of these resources? He couldn't tell but returned his gaze to the black-robed assassin who still knelt.
"What's your name?"
"Please call me Slave Four." The black-robed man reverently replied.
'A numbered slave...?' Davis found that the assassin before him was someone disposable, causing him to lightly shake his head, 'Deathseeker sure is ruthless.'
"Alright. Tell your master that he need not bother with me anymore. If I want to become his student, I'll naturally approach him one day."
"Understood."
Slave Four stood up and cupped his hands. However, he didn't leave but appeared a bit hesitant as he still had his head lowered.
"What?"
"Dead End. Are you Feng Chu or Davis Alstreim, the Emperor of Death?"
Hearing the question, Davis couldn't help but smile. Ever since he was in the Aurora Cloud Gate, no one bothered to call him Feng Chu anyway, but with that, he knew Mo Tian was the only identity that was left out in the dark.
Many still thought that Mo Tian and Dead End were different individuals. The only ones who knew about these identities being the same person were probably the little Void Dust Tree and her mother, Stella Voidfield and Wix Voidfield, and perhaps, the Law Enforcement Guardian of the Aurora Cloud Gate, Saintess Lunaria.
"Both." Davis simply answered, causing Slave Four to nod before he disappeared into the darkness.
However, he was still in Davis's sight, and the latter was shocked to see Slave Four radiating the aura of death energy. However, feeling the instability and the peculiarity of the death energy's aura, he could instantly see through the usage and understand that it wasn't innate energy.
'It must be some kind of art that allows practicing death energy... which also means that some kind of thing is implanted in their bodies...'
Davis figured as he watched Slave Four truly leave before taking the contents of the spatial ring. He couldn't help but smile at Deathseeker's sincerity as he brought out something.
It was a severed head, and its features were unrecognizable to him as he didn't know who it belonged to. However, judging by the remnant aura, he was sure that it belonged to Wolfhowl, the inner disciple of the Ghost Tear Hall, who was bent on killing him when he joined the Ghost Tear Hall and had some confrontation with his men.
This was the sole thing that made him consider becoming a student of Deathseeker, as the other party probably broke a rule or two to kill Wolfhowl. Deathseeker was crazy, but Davis was starting to like him.
Abruptly, pitch-black goo emerged from his palm, engulfing Wolfhowl's severed head. Within a few seconds, it disintegrated into thin air, leaving behind nothing.
Davis turned around and continued to dive into the many tunnel entrances, going back and forth. On the way, he saw many bloody tunnels, one that indicated an ambush by the Unfettered Ice Fiend. There were also some signs of battles between cultivators, most likely a dispute for treasures or simply because they didn't like the other party's face.
Nonetheless, even as he met a few unknown disciples from various schools, no one dared to rob him, much less near him. It seemed someone had already spread his name.
Thankfully, he had a proper sense of direction and knew how to leave invisible marks that didn't let him get lost in this icy maze. After confirming where a few other tunnels led and connected, he chose the route where he heard Mystic Diviner Hailac was and managed to arrive at a frosty mountain.
The conical mount at the peak of the mountain was erupting with ice as though it was an ice volcano, causing him to feel some marvel over it. But at this moment, he saw Mystic Diviner Hailac and a few people fly out of the ice volcano with a defensive barrier covering them.
They seemed to successfully escape from the fate of being frozen to death. However, they looked joyful as they shared a few things that radiated intense ice energy. It didn't take him much to discover that they were ice-attributed resources, ones that were also at Immortal King Grade.
He approached their joyful interaction, causing them to become intensely cautious as they quickly hid their spoils in their spatial rings. With his interruption, they all became tense except two people.
"Mystic Diviner Hailac, I see that you have some gains."
"Some gains? You wouldn't know how rich we became..." Mystic Diviner Hailac giggled.
"...!"
It caused the party members in her group to look at her with anger, wondering why she was bringing trouble to them. They wondered if she planned to betray them at this moment. However, to their suspicion, nothing untoward happened as the two of them exchanged some pleasantries and left together along with some other woman who stuck around with Mystic Diviner Hailac.
"Ah, folks. Our cooperation ends here, so leave while you can before someone else plunders your treasures."
Mystic Diviner Hailac turned around and warned those people. Davis also looked at them and recognized that they were true disciples ranked in the two hundreds. They truly were powerful, making this group a force to be reckoned with, but something said the only reason that they could form a team relied heavily on Mystic Diviner Hailac's divination, paving a path for them.
Most likely, they would start plundering each other, so Mystic Diviner Hailac left them with a warning.
After they left and gained enough distance, Mystic Diviner Hailac's blind pupil-less eyes couldn't help but shine as she beamed at Davis and pointed at the woman beside them.
"Emperor of Death, how did you find this gem? Would you mind sending her to work for me? I'll reward her handsomely!"
"No way." Davis shook his head, "I'm not giving up my Ellia to anybody."
Ellia, who stood by Mystic Diviner Hailac's side, rushed towards Davis and grabbed his arm, appearing quite happy to see him as she hugged him tightly. It was three days since their separation, after all. She missed him dearly, causing Davis to smile as he brushed her silky black hair with his other hand, feeling her affection for him swell.
Mystic Diviner Hailac saw this scene and pouted, "The treasure-hunting experience I had with Ellia for the past three days was truly marvelous. I was only able to locate the approximate location of the treasure, but she pinpointed them and led our group to obtain treasures at a faster rate. I truly couldn't believe the speed we were moving at that so many of those other groups were forced to join our group before it splintered, and only the strongest remained..."
"That's natural. Did someone notice Ellia's peculiarity?" Davis's eyes narrowed. If someone in that group picked up some trouble with her, he wasn't going to ignore it.
"No, her disguise wasn't found out. She's utterly cautious, and everything she found, she informed me through physical soul transmission, so she only ended up making my name resound with more grandness and trustability, bringing me countless disciples giving up their wealth to me in droves so that they could obtain more treasures." Mystic Diviner Hailac's body quivered as her face lit up in joy.
However, she suddenly remembered something and giggled, "But... I won't be disgraceful. Naturally, I'll share the wealth with Ellia."
"That's kind of you."
Davis lightly smiled, but Mystic Diviner Hailac became taken aback by his gentle look before looking away as she brushed her silver hair to the side.
"It's only fair."
Davis saw Mystic Diviner Hailac's beautiful visage, wanting to see what kind of face adorned before her veil. However, he turned to look at his Ellia and wanted to know what happened while he was away as he couldn't stop being worried, but Ellia opened her mouth before he could speak.
"My prince, I don't know what level Natalya and the others reached, but I'm sure that they have at least reached Level Seven Immortal Stage. Therefore, I can say with confidence that I have gathered enough ice-attributed treasures for them to enter Immortal King Stage. Even if Clara wants to train in ice-attribute, there is enough for her too."
