His door rang but he didn’t answer, Lenny hesitated to respond but he was now way nervous.

Right now, he’s on the same ranking level as Crystal au Drakkon.

They were both Rank 2 Fallen Regulators.

And divine rankers as well.

But Lenny was quick to imagine four Fallen Runes, becoming a Transformer, a Sage, a Mindcrafter and a soul reaper.

Ding dong!

The doorbell rang again and this time, Lenny Night answered "Yes, who may that be?" He asked.

Still pretending to be unaware by the presence who stands outside his door.

She answered "Good morning Mr. Night, there’s been an error regarding your service room, please open up, let’s clarify the issue"

Lenny’s lips curled faintly "Just as I expected" He muttered, "She still pretends huh?"

Without any further hesitation, he pulled down the knob and the door sprang open.

Their eyes met.

Lenny’s eyebrows slightly furrowed but she grins, waving her hand at him with a beautiful pale smile "Hello"

"I guess you weren’t expecting me right?" She chuckled.

Her beaming smile faltered when she noticed Lenny’s nonchalance, his expression remained indifferent.

It was like he knew from the beginning.

He did.

Lenny breathed in deeply, "My intuition was right" He lied, It was Corinthian who had sensed her.

Without Corinthian, he could have been ambushed by her without even realizing it.

Crystal nods, "That shouldn’t be strange since you are something weird" She said, "So.....?"

"Are we going to kill eachother or not?" She asked.

Lenny chuckled softly "If that’s what you wanted, you would have attacked me the moment you set your eyes on me"

"I can still feel your unending hatred brimming within" He sighed, "What do you want from me?" He asked.

Crystal shook her head, "You’re wrong and you’re still right, I may not have the intentions of killing you today"

"But that doesn’t mean I have no intentions of making you feel pain" Her lips curled darkly.

The next thing Lenny saw was absolute darkness.

His sense of sight has been distorted.

She attacked.

Bang!

Lenny was sent flying across the scene, his back crashed into a wall, he fell on his knees.

Cough cough!

Lenny chuckled, "I guess this should be how it is" He rose up from his knees, if he was still a Rank 1 Fallen Regulator.

He would have been deeply affected by her blow.

But this was a battle between Rank 2 Fallen Regulators, he was more durable than before.

With his sight blocked, he summoned X.

Connecting himself with the vision of his shadow familiar, he was finally able to see and he moved.

Faster than before, since the space between them was so small.

There was no need for a Space Path Fallen Rune.

He summoned his grade 2 Fallen Relics, swinging down his daggers against the heiress.

She blinked, initiating a teleport.

She appeared behind Lenny, her right hand grew bigger, she directed a backhanded slap.

Bang!

The impact sent Lenny crashing once again, but it wasn’t enough to knock him out completely.

Lenny sat on the ground, his back resting on the cracked wall, he bled but his expression remain unchanged.

Crystal advanced forward, "Why aren’t you fighting back?" She asked.

Lenny raised his head, "Guess?" He asked, his lips curled faintly, Crystal shook her head "You are too damaged up there for me to even guess"

"You are the bastard who corrupted my soul back in the D-tier Dungeon, you left me at your mercy"

"Why won’t you attempt that again?" She asked.

Lenny giggled, "Why would I do that? This ain’t even your real body" He slowly stood, dusting of the dirt stain on his shirt.

"You knew?" Crystal asked.

Lenny nods, "I have been thinking about your Fallen Rune, it’s Divine so it goes beyond limitations and restrictions"

"But you are still a Rank 2 Fallen Regulator, there is a limit your body can handle"

"I guess that’s why you make use of avatars often" Lenny spoke and Crystal listens.

She didn’t bother to interupt him.

Noticing this, Lenny continued, "While parasitizing on a new avatar, you can transfer some Fallen Runes to that avatar"

"Or even steal some new Fallen Runes and store them in that avatar"

"That means the Fallen Runes stored in your true body is on a different level, probably all are Fallen Runes of the Hidden Path" He sighed.

"So when you use known Fallen Runes, I can identify the difference between your true body and avatars" He explained.

Crystal smiled, "You may be damaged in the head but that doesn’t make you any less smart"

"You are correct but also wrong, my true body holds some known Fallen Runes but they aren’t ordinary"

"Neither are they simple" She sighed.

Lenny’s white teeths shone with magnificent light, "So tell me Ma’am heiress, why are you here?" He asked.

Crystal took a deep breath, "I want you to erase this corruption that eats my soul" She demands.

"No can do my lady" Lenny declined, her eyebrows furrowed "Why?"

Lenny lingered for a second, "Why would I heal my enemy? You would kill me if given the opportunity"

"There are two reasons why you won’t kill me today" He answered.

Crystal’s lips curled faintly "And what are they?" He asked.

Lenny raised his hand, "Firstly, I’m the one who corrupted your soul and the only one who can erase the corruption"

"You must have tried already and they must have referred you back to me, you need me alive"

"They only slowly the corruption but could not completely erased it, you still have a few years to live"

"And secondly, I have been approved by the Regulator’s Association" He smiled, "Trying to kill me won’t be easy and you know it"

"The longer the assault goes, the harder it is to go unnoticed and the Association will surely send it’s best soldiers"

"Including the Evernight Police Command" He folds his arms, "And besides you are here for Evernight right?"

"The Den of Thieves aren’t foolish to focus their total attention on me, they hate the Great Houses and the Regulator’s Association as well"

"Especially the top ten ranking Guilds"

"So you were sent here for a reason, what may that be?" Lenny asked, he doubts she would tell him.

He just felt like asking.

What suprised him was the fact that she answered him, Crystal tilt her head, facing the window.

The City of Evernight stretched out before her, she could see the city bustling with activities.

Her lips twitched for a second, "Evernight has been marked by the seven sinful Cults and I’m here to determine their strengths from within" She explained.

Lenny raised an eyebrow, "Why are you telling me this?" He asked.

Crystal grinned, "I did because you will be helping me as well"

"Oh?" Lenny was dumbfounded, "You seem certain that I would help, why?" He asked.

Crystal paused for a moment, "It’s simple, you loot them all, the Great Houses and the Government, the Regulator’s Association and the top ten ranking Guilds"

"They all betrayed the Great House Night and stayed silent when their end came swiftly’’

"When they visited your castle" She spoke.

Lenny’s gaze darkened, "So you knew huh?" He sighed, Crystal nodded, "I am the heiress of Greed, there’s no way I wouldn’t know the truth"

"You Nights are vengeful animals so it’s quite known you will be targeting the culprit of that vengeful"

Crystal hesitated before continuing, "Amongst the six active Rank 9 Fallen Regulators, The Ghost is the strongest"

"And his whereabouts as well is currently unknown, even your father was weak against him"

"Why do you think you have the strength to crush him?" She asked.

Lenny shook his head, "You don’t understand, I’m weak now but that doesn’t mean I will be weak in the future"

"It doesn’t matter how strong they are now, the Great Houses, the seven sinful Cults, the Regulator’s Association, and the Government"

"The secret orders as well, they will be all bow when I sit on the throne of the Regulator’s society"

Crystal chuckled, "A fitting ambition for a noble Fallen Regulator, but it doesn’t change the fact that you are weak now"

"You are still a bug they will crush when they want" She smirked, "This is why I am here" She adds.

Lenny raised an eyebrow, "Here to do what? To plot my demise?" He asked.

Crystal shrugged, "Part of it, but still it’s an opportunity to get those bastards back" She said.

Lenny sighed, "What’s my gain?" He asked.

Crystal frowned "What do you mean by that?" She asked.

"Don’t act foolish Crystal" He spoke, "You are trying to use me, trying to manipulate me and place me directly against the Great Houses"

"I don’t mind it but I should be able to gain something from it right?" Lenny asked.

Crystal sighed deeply, "It really isn’t easy to manipulate someone as smart as you"

"Well you should know that the Regulator’s Association is currently controlled by the Great House Venus right?" She asked.

Lenny nods, "Yeah I know"

"Good" She paused, "And the Government is controlled by the Great House Ares right?" She asked.

Lenny shrugged, "Those are simple details I am required to know as a noble, what do you want?" He asked.

Crystal was quiet for a few minutes before answering, "To cause spite between the Great House Ares and Great House Venus"

"To fracture the relationship between the Government and the Regulator’s Association"

"The Government protects the outer zone of the Evernight City and I need them to withdraw that protection"

"I need Evernight naked, it doesn’t matter if there’s a war" Crystal spoke with confidence.

Lenny glanced at her, startled by her determination "And how do you plan to go about it?" He asked.

Crystal shrugged, "It begins with a simple assasination"
